Swap Autometer gauges for Glow Shift ones???
That's fine, I don't plan to use the a-pillar as mine has the speaker hole and the GS doesn't. Plus my plan is to reuse me wires, EGT probe, ect to simplify the swap. I'll have to run the FP electric sensor to my AN line but that shouldn't be a big problem. Probably just get a -4 to 1/8 NPT fitting or just a coupler to go from my needle valve to the sender.

Swap Autometer gauges for Glow Shift ones???
Yeah he PMed me about them last night and got me thinking. The plan is to do a trade for a high idler so I'm checking into them as I really like the way they look!! Yeah my Autometer FP is reading on the lower (way lower) part of the gauge for sure. The other two are fine I think. But AM doesn't make a 0-30 psi gauge unless it is electric and cost like $250!!! So you guys think the GlowShifts are decent quality?

Swap Autometer gauges for Glow Shift ones???
Yeah it is and yeah they look better too essp. at night. The AMs are just a plain white light bulb that doesn't really match anything inside the truck. The high psi was a previous owner deal and is one reason I'm thinking about the swap. Kinda hard to get an accurate reading with it. Plus I got a trade offer so that is a reason also. My biggest concern is the quality. I know Autometer gauges are good, just don't know much about the GlowShift ones.

Oil Sample
Cool deal! That oil sample readout is kinda hard to read. I really like Blackstone Labs as their readout is easy to read and follow. Not a big deal, just offered my opinion.:thumbup2:I would post on of mine but can't seem to figure out how to attach a pdf....

Swap Autometer gauges for Glow Shift ones???
Hey everyone, I'm tossing around the idea of changing out my Autometer gauges for Glow Shift ones because the Glow Shift ones have some neat lighting!! My question is what do you guys think about that? Are the Glow Shift gauges good? I don't want to lose quality for looks... Plus my Autometer fuel pressure gauge has a little ding in it from the previous owner which isn't a big deal, just a little cosmetic problem... And all of them work just to level things out. These are what I have right now: These are what I'm looking at: http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1816&d=1285716419 Thanks, Winslow

Lets see your homemade air intake..
Oh yeah I don't anyone to think they add one and it's going to add like 50 hp or anything b/c it won't!!
-

Yeah the 2nd gens don't gain very much with an intake horn in the power department. Maybe once you cross the 500 hp area it might but not sure. I did it mostly for looks and maybe a little better flow!

Light/Lens Restoration Kit
Maybe a good Xenon bulb. I've got a set just haven't put them in yet!

I did mine while the truck was done during the VP, injectors, and ps pump install. I think I used high temp paint. I can't remember now. It has held up fine, just some nicks and such from installing other parts after word. I would like to get the red Cummins one with "Cummins" on it instead of "Dodge." And it is red powdercoat!

Light/Lens Restoration Kit
Oh sorry no he doesn't sell them, he bought them off ebay!! Sorry about the confusion man. I can't remember which ones he bought, but they were pretty cheap...

Light/Lens Restoration Kit
Sometimes you have to pay to play!! But a friend of mine has Ebay HIDs and seem to be pretty bright. The only thing I don't like about them is the light is kinda scattered out all over the road. Haven't done a side by side comparison or lumen meter test yet. Planning to once I get mine back up and going!

Yeah that's just too much red for me. What I plan to do when I twin it is do a contrast of silver tubes and red brackets and such. That's my plan at least! The theme of the truck is black, silver, and red. Nothing too out there but looks nice together!

With the conversion harnesses both lows and both highs are all on at the same time!!!

I painted it myself. Took a while to strip all the old paint off with my little gravity feed sandblast gun and aircraft stripper.

And it looks a lot prettier too!!!

Light/Lens Restoration Kit
My sport conversation lights seem to work pretty well. You can get them from dieselautopower (jkidd) for like $330 I think. They come with harnesses and such. I have a write-up on CF about them.

Not really. I think the EGTs maybe dropped a little faster, but not very much. It is mostly for looks and the ports for water meth down the road! As far as the AFE Torque Tube, kinda the same deal. With both I seemed to be able to hear a little more air sucking so maybe that's a good thing!!

I took a piece of 3" mandrel bent tubing from Summit Racing and cut it, and rewelded back into position. Wasn't too hard to do, but I wish I would have came out a little smoother underneath. Oh well I get bored someday I'll pull it off and add some more filler and repaint to make it show quality. --- Update to the previous post... This one I think: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-622005/ Then just take a piece of 1/4" plate and cut a hole in it. Plus the four smaller bolt holes. I used a plasma to do it, but a hole saw would work too.

New tires!!!
SWEET!!!

Very weird problem
You might have to get/ take it to a scanner and see if anything else pops up. Autozone can scan it and clear any codes.:thumbup2:Do you have any gauges? What is the boost doing? How about smoke?

steering dampner
Yeah okay that's why I think about a flat side. I think my old one was like that. Might try lifting the steering brace off the bolt instead of driving the bolt out. Just something to try. I like it, defiantly worth it. Don't expect night and day but it will help tighten things up some and prevent wear in the steering box. It wasn't hard at all, less than an hour. A second person was nice to help hold it and the sway bar up, however, a single person could do it.

Off-Road Lights!?!?!?
Okay I think I get it. When I get doing it, I might have more questions.

steering dampner
Yeah that sounds right. Has a flat side on the front and a nut on the back? That sounds right. Might try some PB Blaster or something like that. Let it sit on there for a little bit, then try to pop it out. Not the greatest pics, but does it look like this: I guess I was thinking it had one flat side. Had to say what I'm thinking about!

Off-Road Lights!?!?!?
Thanks Mike!! So I would have to tap into both of them or just the HI/LO relay one? Also isn't there a relay that goes there? Guess I need to look under the hood when I get a chance so I can see I have to work with!
