A trip to see grandma...
Great story..... Today its terribly common for families to separate due to many reasons and end up at opposite ends of the earth. Sad too because family is everything. But nonetheless, I'm glad you guys got there OK and back home safely too. Now take that little wife to the coast and build more memories.

Are you looking for replacement engine fan?
Interesting..... I thought the 3rd gen fans were still available but couldnt be used in the 2nd gen because they're reverse rotation. This guy chose to eliminate the 3rd gen electric clutch fan too.

Are you looking for replacement engine fan?
Apparently it may be. I've read a few forums where people are desperately looking for the stock fan but they just dont exist anymore.

Coolant
Its cheap. Just drain and refill with new every now and again. Doesn't have to be some big drawn out procedure.....

Are you looking for replacement engine fan?
I ran across this thread and thought I'd move it along through the forums. Seems someone has found a way around the problem of no more existing OEM engine fans. Anyone still struggling to look for one may find his information helpful. http://www.dieselforums.com/showthread.php?p=14561&posted=1#post14561

Low fuel pressure light that light up around 12 psi plus psi?
For someone looking to get gauges, I totally agree..... But for someone like me who already has a lot of money and time invested in gauges, I think the alarm that guy built is perfect.

My brakes seemed a little mousy.
I haven't laughed out loud at the screen in a long time.....

RV275s
This has to be a misprint..... I get so used to driving my truck that when I get in a small engine manual transmission vehicle, it can be difficult to adapt without any clutch pedal feedback.
-
RV275s
I think this all proves how important it is to have two Dodge Cummins trucks.
-
RV275s
I've been in a built auto Cummins. Dang thing was quick.
-
RV275s
If my truck was an auto, I'd rather have a fully built automatic than go through all the trouble swapping in a manual.....which will also need a stronger clutch. But thats just my opinion.

RV275s
Just thinking more along the lines of notlimah transmission.

RV275s
If you want your truck to tow its best but not have to worry about drivetrain reliability then you're limited to either an Edge EZ or RV275's.....or similar power making components. Nothing wrong with that either as not everyone cares to modify their truck to such levels which you see others go through. I'm more than happy with my EZ and RV275's but I also had to upgrade the clutch to hold just that much power while towing too.

Truck stolen
Not sure where I've been because I missed this whole thread until now. Read through it and felt like I was watching some TV episode. Thieves SUCK. Glad you got it back though.....

I kinda agree. We're all rambling along here and I'm not even sure if Gusdodge is still stuck at Walmart.

DONT TOUCH THE OVERFLOW VALVE.....! The odds of those simplistic check ball and spring valves going bad is highly remote and far too often blamed. There's nothing to go bad. And that said, if it does stick either open or closed, the truck will still run. It will just cause hot fuel conditions or hard starting. Either way, its pointless to try and diagnosis the overflow valve as the fuel flow through the VP is not simply in and out. The fuel passes through the entire housing before exiting. Move on to the other more plausible culprits.

two stroke oil question
I just have a couple oils engine oil quart bottles filled with 2-stroke sitting in the bed of the truck. I generally fill up around 1/4 tank and use almost the whole quart. Not much science behind it for me.....

Letting the VP pull its own fuel supply is very damaging. Yes, the stock lift pump would allow fuel to pass when the lift pump was not running which would mean the engine "could" continue to run. But the Raptor doesnt do that and will shut off all fuel supply when the pump isnt pumping. You need a fuel pressure gauge to know if you're getting any pressure from the pump.

A few things could have happened..... Your fuel pump could have quit and you're not getting the correct fuel pressure or volume in order to get the truck running. You could have ran out, or be running out, of fuel if the fuel gauge is anywhere less than 1/3 tank. Fuel gauges can be way off depending. Either way, you have a whole lot of air in the system now and you're going to have to crack loose a few injector lines in order to purge that entrapped air out so it will start. Any thing else would typically generate a code.
