  1. I would also point out that for the slt laramie addition trucks with heated seats the location where you are looking to mount the controls is used for the switches that operate the heated seats.
  2. Thank you guys so much for you help I am getting taken to another shop. A friend recommended someone that I can trust. I am also looking into a used axle if the price is still just to high.
  3. My truck is in the shop I was just going to have them replace the pinion seal but then it turned into a possible bad yoke bearing now they say they need to rebuild the entire rear diff which will cost 3388!!!! There is no way I can afford that. Has anyone done this themselves could I take on this project with just a basic home shop? Or does anyone have any advice? Anything is appreciated thanks!
  4. My first haul with my truck! Its not much but still fun when under tow!
  5. do you happen to remember roughly how much it set you back?
  6. Actually this is fairly common. The same thing happened to me a while back but i was stuck in 5th gear. A quick google search is what i did on my smart phone to diagnose it on the side of the road. There is info out there just try a few quick key words. I guess that it wears to the point where it can slip between the shift forks but the weird thing is for some people it never happens or happens once and never again and for for others its a repeat offender. I haven't replaced anything since it happened to me and it hasn't happened since.
  7. Here ya go i asked the same question earlier in the thread to enable it you need to have a smarty programmer or have the dodge dealer do it
  8. I am having the exact same issues and i have these codesp0753p0713p0720p1763p1765p1693I noticed something though that may make this information invalid. The odometer is not showing me niether p ecm or p pcu and i am not getting to p done messages. So something weird is going on.
  9. i did have a friend working the torch when we were taking the hub off a couple weeks ago and he managed to scorch the abs sensor there but it looked like only cosmetic damage so i didn't thing anything of it at the time.
  10. very interesting. i live in WI would i have to worry about damage to my rocker arms because of the cold temps? how cold does it have to get? Also i bought my truck used is there anyway to tell if the ecm has already been enabled or not?
  11. I have never heard of this before, would you be able to explain what this product does and its benefits?
  12. Got the part this weekend and got it installed! I ended up getting the part with no pigtails and it works great! RockAuto has them really cheap only 11.xx plus shipping and handling. Speedo now works, but the abs and brake light problem isnt fixed. Now they go on and off intermittently. Usually they turn on when i start the truck, then they turn off when i first get moving then when i start going a little faster around 20 or so they come back on. Anyone else experienced this before? I had a similar experience when i replaced the clock spring. My air bag light always used to be on and then one i replaced the clock spring it was on and off intermittently. Then after a week or so it just stayed off permanently. Does it just take time for the computer to figure out that is has functioning components plugged back in? Of do i have something else going on?
  13. Here you go this should pretty much lay it out for you. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/threads/2514-Crankcase-vent-MOD
  14. sorry that's what i was referring to
  15. Hi Guys,My speedometer stopped working the other day under about 35 mph. I assume this is my RAWL. When looking online there are two different ones available. One comes with the sensor and short wiring connection, the other is sensor only. Is there any reason i need to pay more and get the one that comes with the short wiring connection?
  16. scummins posted a post in a topic in General Conversations
yup that is a good one. there is just something about karma that makes me smile.
  17. I just happened to be on rockauto.com and they have cheep tailpipe sections only 50 bucks! +S&H but great deal thought i would share if anyone else was looking.
  18. I just bought an 02 with 246,xxx. It was the laramine addition, ext cab, short box, with a 5 spd swap. I picked it up for 7500. I have attach my personal maintanance records and this is what i have had to put into it so far. Also check engine light just came on yesterday, front axle passenger side seal leaks, oil leak from somewhere in the front of the engine and transmission leaks. You may want to look at these things before you buy and get an idea of what your going to have to put into it.
  19. I would like to have a scan tool on hand so that i can read and clear codes on my own. I dont know if i would benifit from having a scangaugeII or not. Looking at autozone i can get an OBDII scanner for around 40 bucks is there any reason i would want to invest in a scangaugeII. It seems just like a cool gadget, which is usually right up my alley but i am tight on cash...and my check engine light just came on so who knows what kind of cash i am going to have to drop.
  20. Still have those scanners? Whats the price?
  21. i know this is an old thread but i just bought a truck that makes the same noise that you are explaining. Did you ever determine what the cause was?
  22. yup your definitely right, wish i had 3.55 gears. i dont think anyone appreciates being stuck behind a big old truck cruising at 55 :banghead:
  23. I am also interested in this subject i bought a truck that has a nv4500 swap. I am currently dealing with abs and brake lights on, which leads to no cruise and am wondering if this has anything to do with this swap.
  24. Some information has come to my attention that some of you that have replied to my thread might be interested in reading. For me i think two cycle oil is not the most efficient or costly option and am investigating trying some of the other treatments in these articles. Check it out and feel free to chime in if you have any other useful info or comments. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/76-gm-trucks/64-maintenance-fluids/177728-lubricity-additive-study-results.html http://articles.mopar1973man.com/general-cummins/36-fuel-system/68-hfrr-testing-of-common-diesel-fuel-additives
  25. Thanks for the new info on the subject very interesting! learn something new every day! I am a new diesel owner and have been using 2 stroke oil but i think i may explore the opti-lube xpd additve as a cheaper alternative.
