  1. If you can't install a new one right away and you are needing heat you can try flushing the core out backwards. I did that with mine to get me through the winter. Some gunk came out when I blew it out with the garden hose. Plenty of heat now in 0-15 deg conditions
  2. Try taking the Banjo that comes out of the back of the head out and replacing the sealing washers. I had a similar problem with mine and it ended up being the vent for the tank. Test this by leaving the fuel cap loose. Then go about normal driving/ starting to see if it helps. If it does fix your issue you need to get the vent fixed or buy a new one.
  3. I'm assuming it just isn't blowing hot air or he might have replaced it already. Let's see who is right!
  4. I should have done the cover when I had my vp out :banghead: Ran out of time and had to head back to school
  5. Maybe just the comp with a set of injectors then? I had a powerpuck and it wasn't worth the plastic it was made out of. Will the comp stress the vp badly?
  6. That, That is impressive!!! I have to use my truck, but I had no idea people have pushed a VP that far!
  7. Thanks for the replies. Do you have any idea how the super B would do egt wise with a smarty/comp stack?
  8. Do you have an aftermarket lift pump with filters? If you do you can just ditch the original. Can you get pictures of where exactly it is leaking? Maybe a new seal? maybe a new heater element? BTW you should fill out your signature. It will help everyone here help you!
  9. Hmm so many options!! What would be a good turbo size to compound that one with? Are there any easy "kits" to bolt up with the killer B?
  10. I remember reading that article! Very good info in it. Thanks for the post. I wonder if 100 injectors and the smarty would be a good combo for towing???
  11. Hey ED is there any way we can buy just the new face-plate to put on our existing high idle kits??
  12. Click "More reply options" down on the bottom right. Then on the new reply page below the input text part there is a "Choose File" selection. From there you can find browse your computer for the files!
  13. I believe snowshoveler is talking about the lobe on the cam. On the 12V engines there is a mechanical fuel pump that is driven by a lobe on the cam. I have heard that there is a lobe on the cam, but I have not personally seen one. Maybe you could check for us??
  14. Sorry for not specifying! This was for the second gen 02. Great info. I might buy my brothers and re-sell it to make some money to buy a turbo that bolts on without any modification. Sounds like the super B would be best for me (stock injectors). Do you think it would spool well with just the Smarty? Or would I need the fuel from the comp to get it to light Thanks again for the input!
  15. Do you guys have any thoughts on the BD killer B? http://www.dieselperformance.com/index.php/product/index/200P Would this be good for towing? Twins later? what about the super B? http://www.dieselperformance.com/index.php/product/index/3P
  16. Get that signature filled in so we can help you! Mine did sort of the same thing when it was starting to gel (0 to -10 deg).... Try putting some additive in. You might have slight gelling in a few the lines, connections, or filter.
  17. Call DAP they will let you know exactly how it works if you want to rent
  18. Longest thread ever!!!! :banghead: I read through a bunch of it. I want to clock the turbo so it looks professional. I hate the way the outlet is a 12 o'clock on that truck. Building the mount for the wastegate should be fun though....
  19. Shhhhhhh i want the he351 ! He is planning on the smarty sr. and a set of injectors. The sr. will come before the turbo. Why is the silver bullet so lousy on spool up??
  20. He doesn't ever tow with it just a "grocery getter" haha! He is looking for just street performance. His goals are 600-650hp. He has been looking pretty heavily into industrial injection's silver bullet I will try to do a full write up when I do the swap. I think the hardest part will be building a waste-gate mount after the turbo is clocked. I'm hoping it will cool it down because with my stock injectors and the smarty & comp stacked I can hit 1400deg before i'm going 65, and I am too afraid to go over that!
  21. No one has any idea??
  22. Ok guys, I posted over in the CR forum about my brother putting a new turbo on his 05. So I am thinking about buying his he351cw from him, but I have a few questions. First off what is a fair price? 130xxx miles on it no shaft play. Second is it worth it for my second gen? My egts get out of hand quickly with the comp and smarty stacked. Will this cool them down very well? I can use his old down pipe if it will work. What adapters will I need for the oil input, oil return, exhaust manifold ect. When I tow heavy I turn the comp off and run the smarty on 9. Will this be enough fuel to spool the turbo? Any input is appreciated. Remember I'm in college and I'm on a budget!
  23. Thanks for the advice guys! We enjoy turning wrenches, but appreciate the offer. I'm helping him pick the best one for him because I'll be putting on his old he351! Hopefully cool my 24v down a bit!
  24. Ok gang, my brother is hell bent on making some more power with his truck. Here is his truck. 2005 Ram 2500 4door long bed 2in leveling kit s&b intake with scoop smarty junior upgraded clutch G56 stock trans 3.73 gears He wants to eventually go with a set of twins with a new head 110# valve springs studded & fire ringed Smarty SSR & 100 horse ddp injectors, but for now he just wants an upgraded turbo that he can add another one to later. He is torn between industrial injection and ATS. Of these two companies which is better? Which turbo from each company would be best for his current mods and to add another turbo to later? Any input is appreciated!
  25. Do you know why any of this happened??
