  1. Might do that down the road, for today I think I am going to start on top.
  2. Never saw one on a 2nd gen but the one I added to my 2010 works awesome, last time I changed it had about 5 lbs of dirt in it and was filled level full with the pleats., literally dumped the dirt out of it when I pulled it out, will need to change it more than once a year I guess, thats a lot of dirt that was not on my dash or plugging up the heater core or evaporator.
  3. Genos does sell a filter that mounts over the intake grill in front of the windshield. http://www.genosgarage.com/CAB-FRESH-INTERIOR-AIR-FILTER-KIT-94-02/productinfo/CFF-DG-0610K/#.VU9V17B0yUk
  4. If You mean cabin air filter then no, but the 4th gens have a spot in the air box for one but do not come from OEM with a hole or cover for it to which I added that mod to my 2010 long before Genos started selling the kit. http://www.genosgarage.com/DODGE-RAM-CABIN-AIR-FILTER-KIT-10-15/productinfo/GG-CFF1012/#.VU9V87B0yUk
  5. Just got home from Rapid city SD yesterday and while down there saw my first ever 80MPH speed limit signs on the interstate there. ND still has 75 mph limit.
  6. until I get feedback from the masses. I am personally leaning towards the top of the manifold in the 1-3 location closest to the cylinders for a hotter more realistic reading but I want to hear your opinions as I am going to dig into the install in the morning.
  7. CSM, I missed where you got a trailer, I knew you were looking, did you buy that one/ details man we need details.......... I just looked at your rigs details, 1400 stall holy hell man that thing must suck to drive, good thing you have a smarty comp stack and quick spooling turbo with enough fuel or you would never get spooled up with that tight of a converter. Who in the heck sold you a converter with a stall that low? In the diesel world 1600-1800 is a fairly low stall. That would be a good stall speed with 235 tires and 4.56 gears.
  8. Ah, I get it now, I too have a lot of hills and some folks laugh at me because I manually shift all my auto rigs almost as much as some do manuals on hills ect, but it works well for me. I really like doing this on my 05 as it only coasts so far before automatically locking up the tc clutch in down hill coasts.
  9. Front compressor seal leaks are very common on passenger vehicle dye is an excellent way to find it as mike showed. I have used dye in hydraulic and fuel systems to find slow leaks many times as well as trying to nail down fluid transfer issues from one component to another, it is a very handy tool at times.
  10. 30K???????? WOW I don't think I have ever gotten under 80K from a set of even cheap ones on any vehicle I have ever owned, you must do a lot of city stop and go?
  11. Its scorched earth ahead of you now, you know that don't you? You just jinxed it for sure...................
  12. Were you driving or flying?...............come down out of the clouds man...............50kt winds. If you were on a boat or in the sky you can use those terms on land please use mph...........
  13. That and one has to figure in a +- accuracy of the pyro as well. On my 02 I would pull her @ 1300+-50 constant for 50 miles a lot of times and never an issue.
  14. The manifolds all have a divider at the collector area preturbo up until the 6.7 which is open and has no divider like 12v, 24v vp and 24 cr have. But the preferred way on all the older ones was always the rear divider port like the preferred pic #2 but the main reason for that was that cyl. 4-6 were supposedly hotter and that was the reason to monitor there but this site claims cyl. 1-3 in the main manifold pre-collector is hotter which makes no sense as compared to all the other info I have ever seen. It doesn't matter to me but I would like to see the hotter of the 2 temps myself, I think that would be more ideal but there seems to be a different thought process as which spot is hotter.
  15. Found 2 location options and was looking for opinions on which you think would be best option. debate. First pic is a secondary option which measures cyl 1-3 and is supposed to read hotter than the preferred position in the second pic of the rear collector area. In my mind the hotter the temps one sees it is more realistic of what is actually happening. http://www.dieselmanor.com/diy/CMS3-gauge/CMS-gen3gaugeinstall.htm
  16. I finally got to touch my "Touch". Will get it installed later today or tomorrow. Is there a pillar mount option for the touch display yet or in the works? I have not seen one or maybe I just have not looked close enough yet? Would the Edge CTS pillar mount be similar or totally off base here. I am a total hater of windshield mounts, I have yet to find one that holds more than a day on any of my vehicles, When you can get a 40-50+-* temp swing every day its hard for them to stick. I find Velcro is much easier to deal with in some instances but can be quite an ugly site in some areas than windshield suction cups devices.
  17. Fire up a thread after you get a chance to try out my old JR and let us know what you think.
  18. Stay away from the high dollar ceramics is all I can say, I have tried them 2 times and currently have them on my 05 and the stopping power absolutely sucks and the brake fade is horrible with them, need to plan ahead for the heavy load stops and even normal daily driving the amount of brake pedal pressure needed to stop is more than normal pads.
  19. Great to have you here.
  20. 118K and going, just installed the remote fuel filter kit from Vulcan a few months ago with 3 micron Donaldson filter. Also run 2 stroke most of the time.
  21. Thanks Brian, I tried calling them but they must have closed early today, no answer, left message and messaged them through their site. Missed FedEx again today, hopefully I can catch them tomorrow so I have it this weekend to install, might have to go to Bismarck and get it at the fedex facility if they are not running trucks on Saturday.
  22. I will have to call DAP and see if they will refund me the difference, I was charged full price. I actually ordered it on May 1 so I should get a rebate if Smarty is offering this through their vendors then right? Would I get a discount on the pyro kit as well or just the touch system? I am out of town for a few days for business trip in Rapid city SD at the RMMMA, my wife said that there was a note on the door from fedex wanting sig for a package today I have a few coming but I am assuming it is for the touch. Hopefully I can get it and install it this weekend as the weather is going to be cool and rainy so perfect for an install project.
  23. DAP is a vendor here which is why I went with them and no other reason as every place I looked was the same price.
  24. You gotta be kidding me, I looked all over and found absolutely no sales on Smarty, 2 days after purchasing one form another dealer you post a new vendor selling them for 100 bucks less than what I bought for. http://www.parleysdieselperformance.com/t/manufacturer/smarty
  25. John, I did order it from DAP and did not order it with the TNT or SSR unlock, Brian over on smarty forum says TNT-R is a free unlock just need to call them if ever want it and like you said John that is why I did not order it at this time as I am 100% stock for the most part except for opened up exhaust and OEM air filter cold air intake mod. You have any input / advice for me for when I get it John, I know you are tied in with them for testing things? Welcome to the site Organicfarmer Matt. Saw on the smarty forum that they are working on adding more PIDS for the 04.5-05.5 MY to include tranny readings and will be an update when it is ready.
