Need some help for a buddy
I didn't mind the smarty on my 02 stacked with the hot comp but when I went to the HRVP44 it put it over the top and I lost my slow speed drivability, things were way too touchy even on the lowest settings of smarty. Thing loped so bad and throttle was so touchy I couldn't hardly drive it around town from light to light but man did the silver 62 light fast.

New arrival to the collection!
Had something happen this morning that has never happened before in my life, Guy called me up and thanked me for the nice car, said he is enjoying it a lot and was truly amazed at how good of shape it was in, he was very apprehensive at first having 271K miles but after a couple days of driving it realized how nice it still is and wanted to let me know and thank me for the care I took in it over the years.

Who pointed you to that company or how did you find out about them?

New CCW
Which is why there should be absolutely no LEO with anything more than a 6 shot revolver again. Would cut down on a lot of the cold blooded murders committed by more and more LEO's now days.

New CCW
I have a s&w body guard in 357/38 with built in laser site which is worthless as the accuracy sucks on it so bad. It is good up to about 25 feet anything past that is a crap shoot. I can get on paper with absolutely no accuracy at 25-30 feet past that one may get a body shot up to 50 feet if one knows how the rounds fly. mine shoot way high and left. It is my wifes pillow gun. My carry everywhere is a 4" S&W 686+ 7 round revolver in 357, big yes but I am a tall enough to hide and carry it well. Extremely accurate and easy to shoot.

Baby got a new pair of shoes....
I am going to get a set of these this fall for my 2010 1500 Hemi, I have been following them for years and talking and monitoring them and not one single bad thing said I have found from anyone about this company so time to pull the pin later on this year or when they offer agood sale which they do quite often. I have seen 15-20% off the regular prices a few times already. I really want to stay with 265-70-17 but they only offer them in E rated which after 2 sets of them on my 1500 is beating me and the rig to death on the 40 miles of rough gravel roads every day so going up one size to drop down to D rated for a slightly better ride plus from my experience of running several sets of 285's over the years I get more miles out of them. https://www.treadwright.com/individual-product/95/WARDEN-285-70R17.00-D

Valve adjustment not being kept up on can have a play in this as well, could have been a bad spring retainer or bad spring many many things to cause this and I would not suspect egts or emissions to be one of them, like I have posted before, if it is made of iron it can and will fail over time, just impossible to know when. I have seen this happen on engines of other makes with very low hours on them.

That's racist..................................... Al Sharpton is on his way.- swepco oils
Never heard of it.- 2005, Cranking No Start, No Communication at all, No gauges, No low beams as of a week.
This company deals with heavy duty ECMs but may have info on where to source them for our rigs, nothing but a phone call to ask. http://www.heavydutypowertrain.com/- Amsoil intake fail
What am I missing here, not seeing the big picture? Looks like someone installed it unsupported or mishandled it or ran it without a heat shield or so on and on and on .................................... I see nothing that would render it bad.- HPCR Injector Changes Throughout the Years
The 6.7 has always had its act together from what I have seen, after 8 years in Dodge pickups alone since mid 07 and years in other equipment before that is way longer than any other series to not have fuel system issues, most had issues right out the gate and continued for several years if not still ongoing.- HPCR Injector Changes Throughout the Years
The way I read it is bosch is the best now and no need for after market injectors. Never hear of any injector issues on 6.7 Cummins so they must have improved them quite a bit.- tranny temp gauge
Best spot is in the front converter output cooler line right at the tranny where the hottest oil in the system is. In the pan or in the servo port is about the coolest oil in the system, servo port is just seeing stagnant oil and little more than case temp from my trials of it and the pan oil is the coldest oil in the system as it just returned from the cooler. I can't seem to get the search engine here to work right something changed as there are a few posts I made with part numbers and pics of an OEM cooler line with a temp sensor port in it, I think it was used on 95 model year rams.- OBDLink LX and Android Tablet
I have been seeing the Torq app as well on the TDI sites and they seem to show a ton of data for them including egts as it is monitored for the DPF regen systems. The 2014 Jetta has no useful gauges at all anymore, tach, speedo and fuel gauge is it., wife has a smart phone I was going to try it with some day just to play.- New arrival to the collection!
Gotcha now.- New arrival to the collection!
I put the aluminum panzer plate from dieselgeek.com on the 03 almost as soon as I bought it because we run so much country roads. Already have the skid plate in the garage for the 2014 just waiting for the first oil change to install it and the tdi frost heater at the same time. Can't say there is anything expensive at all to maintaining these things, not sure where you are coming from there, the 03 has been the cheapest vehicle I have ever owned as far as maintenance is concerned. Japanese got absolutely nothing up on German quality. If I was writing the checks and it wasn't another VW it would be a Mercedes or Beemer for a high mileage low maintenance car.- New arrival to the collection!
My wife was looking at the new Subarus too but the mid 20's for mileage was the major downfall for her after driving 40+ mpg cars for the last 20 years, front wheel drives with studded tire up front and she has passed and driven by every other rig on the road in bad weather so trying to tell her she needed an AWD was a joke. In 20 years she got stuck one time, she hit a 3 foot deep drift that had a hard crust and went up over and then dropped in and got hung up. This with about as low of cars as one can drive, a 95 Dodge neon and the 03 Jetta.- Anyone running 2 stroke in other diesels?
Yep definitely the Case engine. Are you sure it is the top cover that leaks, shouldn't be that much oil that splashes up that high to leak? Have you had the floor plate out and look at the orbit drive motors where they mount to the flanges that go into the chain case? This is a good spot for leaks as the chain tensioners are there usually and one has to loosen the flange to get them to move. Are your chain tensioners on the outside by the wheels or under the floor pan my the orbit motors? There is usually a oil level plug to fill the chain case to as they need just enough oil for the chain and lower couple inches of the sprockets to run in.- How Much?
Maybe burned a cord and a half at most, wasn't too bad of a winter and only fire up the stove when temps get to about 10* or colder otherwise it heats up the house too much for comfort "small house with good circulation".- Anyone running 2 stroke in other diesels?
Was doing some looking and see it is a case engine.- JAG1 made it to my place.
Has to chuckle when I saw the turkey pic, my red heeler almost had a wild turkey by the giblets this weekend in my backyard, put the sneak on 2 of them and I wasn't paying attention to her because she was playing with a couple squirrels a few minutes before and then I heard the rukus start and 2 of them flew right over my head by about 3 feet with her hot on the tail. - Our new security system is installed
