  1. This may be where a drink called "Boiler makers" was born only one has to crack the beer and take a large swig to make room for the whiskey to fill it back up to prevent freeze up lol........
  2. I have had to have 3 beers cracked open at the same time while drinking outside in sub zero temps as they would start to freeze up within a minute of opening them up, would have them lined up on the defroster of the vehicle, take a couple drinks from one switch it out for another that had time to partially thaw and on it went this while still farming doing cattle checks at night, thawing out cattle fountains and what not tasks.
  3. Mopar1973man pre cummins the early years in idaho lol.
  4. Great job and using a 2nd gen dodge as his stage in front of the world!
  5. Ha Ha that's pretty common around here, the humidity in the wood and the cold temps causes things to pop quite regular on a lot of houses old and new. Mine does it on occasion as well and it does sound like something is coming through the roof or walls at times it can be so loud. lol.
  6. The FASS HPFP 150I had on the 02 was always very angry when the temps dipped to and below -10, a lot of times i had to shut it down and restart it to get it to start pumping to build fuel PSI. I think part of it was after the start and the grids being on for so long before starting it there wasn't enough amperage to run the pump fast enough until the grids quit cycling for 30 seconds at a time and the alternator could get enough voltage back to the batteries.
  7. Friend of mine who grew up here and now currently lives in Cleburne texas south of fort worth was giving me crap about the snow and cold last week saying it was 70* down there but karma bit him in the butt as he just sent me a text showing it currently @-2 haha welcome to our world, was minus 20's all across the area here last night as well.
  8. Vehicles get removed from interstate ditches and medians within a day or two due to them being snow catches and will cause another snow blockage across the roadway if the wind blows.
  9. This ones for you Dripley.
  10. Here is a video of what we were left with after the Christmas blizzard in the bismarck mandan area, we got another 8-12 inches across the area last week on top of what you see in this video.
  11. It was mid 50's in november the first couple days we were in Florida and they were dressed like we would for sub zero with wind, was funny as heck, wife and i had long sleeve shirts on. It is relative to the season as well. First month few weeks of winter and it feels cold but in a few weeks when it will hit 10* no wind and sun we will all be so acclimated to the cold you will definitely see t-shirts, Shorts and flip flops once it hits mid 20's to 30 ish is normal after sub zero temps for a few weeks.
  12. Pretty much sums it up, Rural folks will go through purgatory to get their kids several miles to a main road to meet the school bus where town kids are endangering life and limb if they have to walk 6 blocks in the elements lol.
  13. Whats funny is they will shut down the big city schools before the rural schools.
  14. Ha Ha yeah here if there is 3 feet of snow on the roads they announce rural buses are running a couple hours late. Unless the visibility is really bad blizzard conditions and or combined with extreme cold then schools are on, has to be pretty bad to close schools down.
  15. Sold my last sled when i bought the house 19 years ago. If this keeps up i might have to get a used one just to get out of my yard.
  16. We officially set an all time record for snowfall for this time of the season "Not all time seasonal snowfall...YET" Spent 15 hours on my Kubota clearing my yard over the last 3 days time " what a great way to spend a 3 day holioday weekend" including the 10 inches we got over the last day and a half. CSM calls this area Hoth and i think he has it nailed down pretty good. I am so sick of this snow already as is everyone else around here. A normal seasonal total for snow is around 48 inches we beat that in a single month......................and we have 4+ months of snow season to go yet. This pretty much sums up everyones feelings here now days.
  17. Funny you say that, its what my wife said about how talented a singer he is to have the range and varied vocals.
  18. I have that on my music play list. Absolutely awesome version. My wife loves it too, she first heard it on my i-pod while i was working out one night.
  19. Sister in-law said it hailed on their farm near Pierre SD earlier this afternoon. It has been sleet/ snowing most of the day lightly but the snow and wind just cranked up about half hour ago now the fun begins, looking out my front window visibility is now about 300-400 feet at best. Sounds like Colorado had some extreme wind earlier today as well. YUCK!!!
  20. When I lived in Laramie Wyo during diesel school in 92-93 they only plowed and did snow removal on major routes and emergency routes. Never touched the residential streets other than to blade the snow smooth when it got too potholed to drive on.
  21. You think you are going to be needng that in The carolinas?
