  1. Grids draw major amps but shouldnt drop it enough to cause the check gauges
  2. Yes they are called bosch remans. The last two pickups I did are bosch remans. Got a pickup in my driveway waiting on a set.
  3. Sounds like crank sensor but cant remember if thats what the pcm uses to excite alternator
  4. Gotcha on the 2 micron. I run 2 mic on my airdog and 5 micron in stock housing. But your situation was different. The last pickup I put the banjo bolt in the bottom of the filter housing. Then ran a braided hose up to the sender with the new style snubber. We will see how long it lasts. Somebody could make a killing if the bought DiPricol. Hint hint ED
  5. You probably have a bad sender. I have replaced three on one pickup (glows&%#) . They sent out a new designed snubber with the last sender. Does it drop when the heaters are cycling? Why did you install a 2 micron filter when you can run a 2 mic on the fass?
  6. Knocking noise like a 12 valve under load around 1750 rpms. Poor mileage, only starts with ether (return issue). Another issue is when you hit the throttle in park/neutral, the rpms will hang for a bit. Smoke obviously but is harder to see on 04.5 and newer pickups. These are what i have personally seen. The injector knock usually went along with a vibration at the same rpm. I would open the drivers door to the first detent, rev tote vibration and start killing injectors with the drb/star scan. Would also do the kill test under load and find the knocking one. As far as hard starts. An injector return test will find that. But if it starts on ether, than its injectors. I actually have a 03 sitting infront of my house with that problem As far as which injectors, either bosch remans ( not reman bosch) or bbi. Those are the only ones I trust. Ive had good luck with Don M rebuilds but they are hard to get. If you are serious, i can hook you up with some bosch remans. As far as swqpping between different years, I will let ah64id answer that because I am not up to date on it. But from the little I read its gonna be cool to swap them
  7. That october snowstorm out here had major effects on the market. Thousands of cattle were killed in wester nebrasks and south dakota. Now these guys have to buy replacement cow/calves. And, because of the drought, there isnt much to choose from. The government doesnt care and they would rather spend money on finding airplanes, over throwing governments, instead of helping the u.s. Its kinda like mowing other peoles grass but forgetting to mow your own lawn. My dad helped a guy and his wife run a cow/calf operation for 20+ years. They ran about 1500 pairs and dad decided to buy 100 head to run also. Well the drought hit in the early 2000's and dad ended up taking a huge loss and the guy he helped is now down to around 400 head. I bought a beef last year and paid 2.99 a pound in my freezer. Dont think I will be able to come close to that the next time i buy
  8. Hope you didnt take pulling cables will delete codes. I was directing that towardd reseting the apps and clearns all the tables/memory in the ecm. Only way to clear codes is with a scan tool with the key on, engine off.
  9. Delete codes and see if they come back. Unhook both negatives. When you have them both unhooked, hold one to the positive terminal for roughly 10 seconds. This will completly drain all memory. Then hook everything back up. And, calibrate apps by turn key on and slowly press go pedal to the floor and slowly relase. Do the pedal twice and it will be calibrated
  10. We had a 12 valve at work that we installing a battery switch under the seat to prevent the batteries to drain while sitting. You could do that
  11. The last 4 guys that i did injectors on their pickups actually keep track of thier mileage and they all were 5-6 mpg off of overhead. After the install they are within .5-1mpg off now. I talked to erick at brown's diesel and he said that is what he looks for too and he told me the reason was for the extra fuel that is getting by each time it fires/closes. That my personal experience
  12. If your overhead reads way off of hand calculated than you have injectors leaking a little extra fuel each time. How many miles do you have?
  13. Camshaft helps alot. Gets rid of the egr lap that is used with the stock cam.
  14. Most electronic gauges have their own ground wire so they dont ground through the fitting. And the hose helps eliminate vibrations from the engine. It isnt for water hammering
  15. I quoted for a vp pickup. 12 valve injectors are easier than 24 valve
  16. Correct, hot water rises. Thats why the cold inlet pipe goes to the bottom. I found that out when I installed mine and failed to notice cold and hot on the lines of the heater. Wife wasnt happy with only 3-4 minutes of hot water for her shower. Had one of those here's your sign moments
  17. Front crank seal (which what it takes to do kdp) 1.8 hrs Injectors 2.1 Exhaust 2.1 He got bent over unless he got serious injectors. I cant believe what people are getting charged to do stuff. I would feel bad if i did that to my customers. Why did he have him surface the manifold?
  18. Im going to buy a scan gauge for my personal pickup but that other reader is perfect for using on different vehicles like i do. It even gives me a lot of readings i can watch on my phone. But i use it mostly has a code reader and to clear codes
