  1. Leave the fuel cap loose and see if it has hard starts. The fuel pump doesnt always run when bumping the starter. The ecm decides if it wants to or not. Also i have been wiring the signal wire into the window motor fuse and it has fixed weird hard starts. You can also pull the relay and put power down the red wire of the relay harnesd to power the pump to see if it works. Might also need a ground. If the fuel pump doesnt run, call pureflow with your serial number and they will send out a new one no questions asked
  2. Many articles wrote on them. Every one i read they loved them. Diesel power got like 29mpg at 75mph in 4x4 trim. Even with a trailer overloaded past specs, got 19. I would love to have one. Probably 55k price wise
  3. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005NLQAHS/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1396930008&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40 This is the one i have. Torq is the free app
  4. Chrysler actually suggested us to switch over to atf+4 anytime we had to drain power steering. Im not scared to run it at all
  5. Got no problem with running a little hotter
  6. Have somebody clear the codes. Most likely just stored codes. You can buy a cheap bluetooth reader off of amazon for 20 bucks that will read codes and clear codes. All you have to do is download an app on your phone
  7. Im putting in a 200* thermostat soon. If i can ever get other pickups done. Its really easy to do
  8. Well there is nothing keeping it in the line. I have never checked. Try the gauge first and go from there
  9. I cant read signatures on my phone. I would use a mechanical gauge and see if it follows
  10. What type of gauge do you have?
  11. Whats your fuel pressure? Ive seen pickups go 5 miles and thousands of miles with the death code.
  12. Test light is your best friend
  13. Powerstrokes use electricity to open and close their injectors. Cummins uses it only to open. I have actually worked on a 6.0 that had a pin in the wiring connector pop out so it stuck the injector open. The exhaust manifold was litterally dripping with fuel. I have replaced almost 200 common rail cummins injectors and roughly 6 engines that were washed out. This is classic symptoms. If it was a bad coil on the injector it would of followed the injector or thrown a code. If it was the valve cover gasket wiring it would throw a code. A compression test will tell lots
  14. This isnt going to be wiring related since he is blowing white smoke. If it was wiring than he would have codes and the injector wouldnt be firing. His injector is stuck open and most likely it washed the cylinder down. You cant see it start as easily as a 03-04 because of the piston bowl size. Most likely oil is over full and there is lots of crankcase pressure.
  15. Compression test
  16. Run a donaldson fuel filter and baldwin seperator on the airdog http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/3rd-gen-tech-articles/150422-3rd-gen-popular-fuel-filter-data.html
  17. Actually the stock housing is the best water seperator. Lots of people run it through there.
  18. Are you running it through the stock housing?
  19. I had a rubber hose between my snubber and injection pump and the pressure would slowly rise. Found out the hose was collapsing causing the problem. Eliminated it and pressure was instant. So if you do test, test right at the injection pump
  20. Electronic gauge or mechanical. Need to verify fuel pressure. Most likely the lift pump is going bad
  21. Ya go with the ones i suggested. If you need any deals on parts let me know. I will hook you up
  22. What are your goals? If you are just gonna fooling around I would go with a sb con-okhd. If you might sled pull than I would go with a sb 3250 street dual disk. Its easier to drive than a 3800 dual disk.
