  1. I bought my first (ScoobyDoo) because it was a Dodge and I had been wanting a Dodge since before I could drive... Our Class C motorhome when I was growing up was a Dodge Fireball with the 440. My second (Shady) was Because it was Dodge and had a Cummins for pulling my BAHT (Big *** Horse Trailer) And my 3rd (YabbaDoo) was for the same reason

  13. He was still up and running actually.. Only had the one little glitch.. I did drive him and tow with him up until yesterday with no issues... But, my vehicles have never let me down yet.. They always let me know there is an issue, and also give me time to fix it...
  14. So... it was a nice Sunday and I decided to install the Larry B's Starter solenoid kit today First off, the truck had something weird happen about 2 weeks ago Started it up after driving all day with no issues and it sounds like metal on metal :banghead: ...I shut it down quickly, or so I thought when I turned the key off... But alas, it kept running :banghead: :banghead: Anyway.. a quick call to MnTom, and my suspicions are confirmed... Starter Better than any other alternatives though So I ordered a Starter Solenoid kit from Larry B's. I will say he thinks of everything!!( Great customer service) Down to a pair of gloves and a Band-Aid!! Ok, let's get started ... First disconnect your batteries then you will need a 15 mm and a 5/16 to remove the wires from the starter. Then once you remove the 2 wires going to the starter you need a 12 point 10mm wrench to remove the 3 bolts holding the starter to the motor. I break the bolts loose with the regular wrench and then I use the ratcheting wrench to loosen enough for my fingers to remove easily... I then bring the starter inside to perform surgery on the kitchen counter... Remove the 3 small solenoid screws that hold the cover in place and then carefully remove the cover and plunger making sure not to loose the spring or the ball( hence the reason for not performing surgery outside) Remove the nuts from the contact lugs and replace with the new contacts and plunger. After putting the cover back on, I used one of my nail files to make sure all contact points were clean for the wires. The it took less than 5 minutes to reinstall and hook up the batteries Then of course I had to fire up that bad boy Look at the difference in the new contact vs the old One less thing to worry about!!!!
  15. Well said Infidel!!! I have been in sales myself and like a sales person with morals and knowledge without being pushy. If a sales person comes off in a manner that is not above board and is trying to blow smoke up my arse.. it's game on (because, now I just want to play with them like a cat plays with a mouse) My Father was one hell of a salesman and was always fair (he did have to make a living), honest and very knowledgeable. You already know what is the best truck to pull any travel trailer and why... Now just do your homework on the rest of the RV models and learn what people are looking for in options that will make RV'ing the most enjoyable for your clients and their needs (meaning don't try to put them in something that is beyond their means as a lot of car/ rv salesman or relators do on a regular basis..) We started with a slide in camper and moved up to a pop up then, my parents traded that for a class C and later on traded that class C for a class A. I believe my dad even went to the same dealer 20 years later to trade our class C on the class A.. Good Luck

  20. Well I just never took it off from the trip to VA... Since I took the truck on a long trip a little over 2 weeks after I purchased it and I didn't like the little bit of wiggle the hood had going down the road I put the rope there and just never took it off... Just got used to undoing the rope to check the fluids One of these days I will work on getting the latch adjusted properly... Just other things seem to be on the burner ahead of that project
