Well I know that timing is altered based upon a number of different tables. Timing is upwards of 20 at different points depending on the condition. read through the atttached document to see what was found. Project log.docx

They absolutely have to deal with Bosch still. The PSG on the vp44 is what controls fueling. The ecm simply asks for a desired torque / hp amount and the PSG decides what to do with it from there. The ECM does not directly control the vp44 in anyway shape or form. In order to truly fuel beyond 65 hp you would have to hack the psg not the ecm. If we though the ecm was a black box, just wait until you try and look at the PSG.

Mike, So do you wanna have the lift pump run for 5 minutes after shutdown? This is possible with smarty pro. I am starting to drool....I might have to sell my truck to get my wife to ok buying this though lolol

The more load you put on the system the shorter the life span will be. bigger alternators generate more heat as a result of more amps so that may not help either.

Unless they somehow got someone at Bosch to open up, the psg is always going to limit fueling commands. No way around that without "unlocking" the vp44 PSG. so if you want more than 65 hp from tuning you will need a wiretap. Ed was going to remove the psg and control it's functions also before he went away. The ECM and PSG really do pretty much the same thing, but the PSG is what makes the final commands for fueling. Our trucks are a HUGE mess of tangled interfaces and proprietary protocols to make things work,.

I need to compare their tables to the one that Ed and Jdongui Put names too. Some interesting things I have found so far. All the ecm tuning is done on the 0-1023 scale, but they convert ALL fueling commands sent to the VP are on the serial command structure of 0-255. Mike, That means my theory was right on why the Map sensor questions are * 4

I am looking at it now. If you have not read over the documents in the scipod stuff you really need to. Smarty's work looks VERY similar to that. This is actually pretty damn cool though, even with the limited tuning it is pretty neat.

I really would like to take a look at the tuning stuff. Can I download it and poke around or do I have to have the smarty connected? It's the captain for fueling on our trucks. The ecm merely asks the psg for fueling VIA canbus, the PSG is what controls fueling based upon it's own tuning.

Maybe I should shoot them over the scipod stuff I have from the last guy who openned up the ECM. However they may be running into the limiters that the PSG has in place. There is only so much you can do from the ECM since the PSG is what decides what to do.

DFI website http://www.dfi-performance.com/ They are in LA..I think I am always set on kill with the quad, but the custom tuning I set TPS points to fuel not levels so in my DD driving I am typically at canbus fueling + timing only.

Quad set to 0 and the he351 ( but my turbo tuning was much less advanced than It is now), if I set to the quad to kill I get hazing if I floor it from a stop. My mileage is ~22 at 60 mph with the heavy tires I have.

dont forget DFI for builder, I cannot stress how clean my 7 x.009 ( 100's ) are down in Iowa. I can literally put the pedal to the floor from a stop and have 0 smoke output.

Here is version 1.0 beta I am writing version 1.1 now, which has different delay for increasing throttle vs decreasing throttle so you can have antibark enabled without the increasing throttle delay.

No clutch pedal, can't get NV4500 into gear
I would guess the issue is the master and slave. Jump under there and look for any drips on the clutch line.
