Water/Meth Injection for Better Fuel Mileage
Yep water/meth is to help with heat issues when other paths don't work. I am with Mike here, I think you are too low on fuelto light the turbo under the powerband. Thus causing heat issues. If you are climbing any real grade you should be seeing boost levels over 5psi minimum to keep heat down. Nick

Brake Job
I don't bother with resealing them, if they are bad I just buy new ones. I think they were under $30 for a caliper. As for pads, I always run the cheapo pad. they wear faster, but that is what they are supposed to do. Saves the rotors. They stop the truck pretty good.

Water/Meth Injection for Better Fuel Mileage
There isnt really any way to get egts down or mpg up if you are climbing. I see 1000 all the time climbing the passes here. Water method might help but I would gear down to get rpms up instead. The truck needs the Boost in that case.

Water/Meth Injection for Better Fuel Mileage
all just saying hi. Nothing to get stressed about. Your issue with temps is due to your turbo and somewhat small injectors for it. You would be able to drop temps with water/meth, but it won't help your mileage, since you are still injecting x amount of fuel, then using water/meth to drop the temp. What Mike is saying is you have to change your setup if you want mpg's vs the power a 64 mm turbo will support. As mike pointed out there is plenty of dd power that can be had with a smaller turbo that will not effect your cruising mileage. I live at 7000' and regularly head up the pass from the city to well over 8500' and I understand what you are seeing. You are effectively a NA diesel until the turbo can spool. Issue is with your truck you wont spool it until you are higher in the revs. Can't have your cake and eat it too.

Water/Meth Injection for Better Fuel Mileage
The water meth wouldn't really help in this case as you would still be fueling the same amount as before, with just the addition of water/meth to bring egts down. as mopar says, reduce drag. I really would like to bag all 4 corners of the truck to get it nice and low when I don't need to ground clearance.

injectors are back out and sent to dfi to be checked out. Something is up with how smokey the truck is/was with the 7 x .009 injectors Here is 97trxuszj on CFS truck %40 on his truck https://instagram.com/p/4XXLbIOMyi/ And %100 on his truck https://instagram.com/p/4XXPqWuMyw/ HUGE difference from the above.

Older edge 141075
From your email Curious that they have a ground from the unit. Really pictures would help a lot. Can you open up the unit? if so maybe the header might have some sort of writing on it? My issue is if the edge does boost fooling you will need to cut the wiring for the sensor wire of the map, the sensor wire should go into the edge then from the edge back to the oem wiring. Excuse my terrible drawing and writing but this is what I am thinking. black/ light blue from map should be ground plug B, Orange from map is your 5v Plug A , and grey/red is your sensor volt from sensor Plug c. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/images/2ndgen24v/wiring/2000-Dodge-Wiring-Pg3.jpg

Performance Tuners
that sounds about right. In gear idle should be 450-500 from what I see. Idle, not in gear, should be around 300 and cruising, vastly depends on conditions, should be 550-800 ish.

Older edge 141075
What I am struggling with it if the edge wiretaps, it should surely boost fool, right? how on earth would it do that with only 3 wires? I know currently, the boxes pass through the ground, Power runs to bother male and female plugs and run to the box, then you have 2 sensor wires. See what I mean by looking at the quad map harness in this article. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/25-fuel-system/452-quadzilla-tips-and-tricks-24v thinking out loud, sensor wire into edge, sensor wire with boost fooling from edge back to oem harness? and maybe a ground? This could be a rather complex issue to solve without a manual to look at. Who knows what edge was doing. Pictures are needed and you will also need to plug the edge in and use a multimeter to figure out which of those 3 wires are power or ground.

So this edge harness doesn't have a dongle for the map sensor, they want you to splice into it? Can you upload a picture to photobucket of the harness from the edge at the map section? If I was you I would buy all the right plugs and do it with connectors vs hacking up the dodge harness. Nothing good ever comes from that in my mind. And Welcome by the way! Welcome to the Family.

He351ve stand alone Arduino controller code for 2nd Gen Cummins
I have made come coding changes on the boost map. I found that a starting position of 235 is too small. It just smokes and smokes. I am testing a few different maps, but this seems to work well. #define NumEntriesDD 14 // boost map for high performance int BoostMapDD[NumEntriesDD][2] = {{10,300},{11.5,310},{13,320},{14.5,330}, {16,340},{17.5,350},{19,360},{20.5,370},{22,380},{23.5,390},{25,400},{26.5,410}, {28,420},{29.5,430}}; Looking at the 6.7 logs that the guy on CF recorded it "LOOKS" like they snap the turbo closed for a split second to 3 or 4cm then pop it back open to about the 300-400 range if you step on the go pedal.

HE351ve install / retrofit 2nd Gen Cummins
Well I have had the turbo in the truck for a few days. I have some EGT issues, and haze issues, but I am almost %100 sure that is due to the large cut I have in one of the boots coming off the intercooler. I am going to swing by a place tonight and get a new boot and get that fixed. However I have been able to put some 55-65 mph crusing miles on the truck. I can say that I have 0 issues with leaving the veins %100 open and cruising egt's stay below 800 and I make no smoke. The code is set to jump out of the pot if I increase throttle above %25 I think, but it is rare I need that even here in the rockies. I am able to accelerate from a stop light with the turbo open without any issues. I have put nearly 200 miles on the truck and I have used just over 1/4 of a tank. some of which was going up a mountain pass and farting around with the skinny pedal. Here is a couple videos from my drive in. First one is me setting the turbo small ~5cm to show that you can make 3-4 psi of boost at 35 mph with about 10% throttle. Then open the veins up all the way and cruise at 55 with no boost no drive and no smoke. and one with the veins %100 open leaving a stop light.

Did some digging today and found a t clamp that was shot and the lower 3.5 to 3 inch elbow on the drivers side has a tear and was leaking. I will see how the egts and smoke is after I get those on the truck.

So after the first longish trip ( 100 miles) I am pretty happy with the turbo and very mad at myself.......I forgot to tighten the compressor housing all the day tight. THANKFULLY no damage, but it was causing my high egt and slow spool issues. I can say however, I can do 65 mph with the veins %100 open with 0 boost and 0 drive.

I thought about the delay but I really would like to avoid doing a delay as it puts the rest of the program on hold. Hakcenter ,guy with the rpm based controller, uses a smoothing function that I am going to try and use.

He351ve stand alone Arduino controller code for 2nd Gen Cummins
The turbo is on the truck and the code is working pretty well. I need to address an issue though. It is so stupid easy to bark this turbo because the controller will close the vein VERY quickly if you let off the throttle. I need to figure out a way to dampen the closing of the turbo. Thoughts on this are to create a manage routine that will slow the veins movement if boost falls more than x psi. Got any thoughts on this cowboy? /////////////////////////////POS Manage//////////////////////////////////////// //Manages Boost map position in an effort to prevent Barking when letting off the throttle. void POSManage() { if ( ((Thrreadings[2] + Thrreadings[3]) >>1) < (5+(Thrreadings[0] + Thrreadings[1]) >>1)) //Detect if throttle is lifted more than %5 { DesiredPosition = BoostVeinPosCalc(Bstreadings[0]);} // use the first boost reading in the array and keep the veins at that position else { DesiredPosition = BoostVeinPosCalc(BoostPressure);} }
