  1. With the 4 valves per cylinder you get alot of air flow going, mine will drop the temperature at idle in frigid temps. All that air causes cooling in the cylinders. I had Cummins speed up the PTO idle so that I could run my engine at a high idle if I want.
  2. I just ordered the 1/2" hose kit at Vulcan, I think I am going to send this thread to Chip. He should really change that info, for people that read between the lines.
  3. It was not about money, it was more a lack of information. I got my Fass with in less then a week of joining M1973M. That famous Blue Chip quote is bad, if you read between the lines like I do. Other forums said 5 PSI is when you start to worry about lift pump pressure. I thought every thing was fine with the OEM pump, truck ran just fine for 10 years. You know, sometimes when a company is no longer making the current model of a product, they will outsource the replacement parts and they become cheaper and less reliable. I just cant understand why the first VP44 lasted so long, with the OEM lift pumps?
  4. I went through 3 stock lift pumps in a years time...............
  5. I joined CF just before I found Mike's site. It is your typical, giant forum, with loads of information, and dis-information, flame wars, and all the other B$. Mike's is a lot more personal. The inlinediesel.com site is very personal, but they only get a couple of new posts a week. If you are looking for help, it could take a while before any one jumps in.
  6. This in-line filter is between the outlet of the fuel tank, and the inlet of the pump, it has nothing to do with the separator/filter. It just seems like a bad Idea to create a restriction like that before the pump?
  7. It is Blue Chips fault, wrong tag, wrong box.
  8. So you are seeing the XP logo? If you are, then the HD is working. Try putting the other HD in the Acer that is working, and see if maybe you got a bad HD, even if it is new?
  9. Not to defend him or nothing, but he does recommend the Fass DDRP for longer life. Sure the VP44 will run with no lift pump pressure at all, my original VP44 did it a bunch of times, and I did not know it, till I got hesitation, or I could not prime the fuel filter, but that does not make it good. Maybe I should send him a link to this site and let him read this thread, that is bad information to tell your customers, he could at least put a disclaimer?WARNING, DO NOT DO THIS TO YOU VP44, THIS WAS ONLY A TEST, IT WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY!!!!!Actually, they did that back in 1999 when the VP44 was in its infancy, but it should still not be presented on his web page, I agree.
  10. What do you mean rebooting, is it starting windows and then rebooting, or stuck in the bios boot up screen? If it is getting any where with windows it is reading the hard drive, but I doubt it would finish on different hardware? If not, the controllers are very cheap, I added one to my Dell, cause I needed a 3rd SATA port for my RAID and a SATA CD/DVD Burner.
  11. That sucks, and I thought I had problems cause my pump was shipped to Texas? If he wants to close up shop that is OK, but he should still be obligated to any warranties due.
  12. But what about the inline Napa filter that ships with the Fass, are you using it? Thanks for the Vulcan link.
  13. Damn, they accidentally shipped my 16X to Texas, and I got the 15X that was supposed to go to Texas, I guess there goes my plans to switch the pump on Sunday!!
  14. Where can I get a 1/2" hose kit, the 3/8 line shipped with my Fass 95 GPH may be lacking, and are any of you using the in-line filter before the Fass pump?
  15. Yes, intermittent hard starting, so we know it is not the Fass causing that problem at least. Pump is supposed to be here today, I might get it put in by Sunday or Monday?
  16. Looks cool, I like it.
  17. 3000 miles, and less then a year. Scanned yesterday, and about a weeks ago for DTC's none are present.
  18. Now, I have 2 more symptoms, I decided big blue is going to stay in the shop until I get the new pump installed. I am not paying a heavy truck tow bill. Now, when I started it yesterday it had a rough idle, and today I started and it stalled, restarted it, hard starting and rough idle, so I threw all the tools I needed into the Sprinter, and went to work. Now I got 4 classic symptoms of the VP44 going bad, the only thing left is: truck dies going down the road, no start, high speed high load miss, and doggy at take off. So I got 4 out of 8 of the common symptoms.
  19. LOL, you prolly think we are all a bunch of Liberals, on the East (Left) Coast. I have a zillion living in my area.
  20. I think Obama should move to Haiti, he would be more appreciated there, and congrats on a Senator that is not a Democrat on the East coast. Too bad he is not a Libertarian, but amazing to see it go to any one but a true liberal. I can bet Teddy is punching and kicking the lid on his coffin. LOLHere is a few more laughs, or groans?
  21. This is what I use in my rig, no possible way to make it any quieter. 1 Turn up the volume on the radio/CD. 2 http://www.blueparrott.com/products/blueparrottb250XT.html
  22. Actually, it is called "Engine Protect" , and it illuminates in red ,the toggle switch says "Engine Check" on it. I think it is a good idea to have the 1 minute shut down on a commercial vehicle, I am sure alot of hired drivers could care less if the engine blew. I agree "Jerry Rigging", I was pissed when Cummins said the gauge was not going to move with fluctuation in oil pressure. I miss that gauge.
  23. Well, today it started fine all day, so I guess I wont be needing the time delay, and that should pretty much rule out the warranty voiding diaphragm, but I did contact Blue Chip to get another 16X pump sent out. I will let you all know the outcome in a few days after I get it and make the swap out. At least I know the new VP44 is gonna love that Fass, thanks to all of you at Mopar1973Man.
  24. The truck does not start normal, cold or hot, plus it still will not run like it used to, on the highway, at cruising speed it still has the dead pedal going on as well, and I think it could run better at lower speeds as well. These are pretty much 2 classic symptoms of the computer on top of the VP44 going bad. I think it is time for Blue Chip to send me another VP44, he says he has seen those computers fail very early in the life of a remanufactured VP44.
  25. According to Blue Chip, that is indicative of a bad computer on the pump. Today I went on the interstate, and it still seems to be lacking, does not accelerate like it used to at cruising speeds. I was suspect of that computer before I even joined this forum. http://www.bluechipdiesel.com/vp44diagnostichelp.html "HARD START HOT OR COLD"
