Best Value Rotors
I'm doing the 3rd Gen upgrade. Was looking at Duralast rotors and pads as I am ordering other stuff from AZ but not sure if they are going to cut it ?? Best bank for the buck here ?? --- Update to the previous post... Looking at these http://stores.ebay.com/brakelabs/_i.html?_nkw=2004+Dodge+Ram%202500+ST&submit=Search&_sid=77318915 http://brakeperformance.com/brake-rotors/Premium-Dimpled-and-Slotted-Brake-Rotors.php

Newbie in need of advise.
ok - dont kill me but going to throw this in here. IF his truck has no codes and he is mainly getting +10-14psi fuel pressure - why do we think its the lift pump and VP44 ?? I know the fuel return only happens at over 10PSI ... but it doesn't mean he HAS done damage to the VP44 right ? Especially with no timing cant advance errors or codes So why wouldn't we look to more normal things like ....put in new air filter and new fuel filter or at least clean them ... Im just confused specifically what he said here MUST be a lift pump and vp44 issue. ? Doesnt the factory lp only run at like 5-7 psi at WOT ?

Methonal/Water Injection for economy benefit!
- What fuel pressure do you run if you have a gauge?
- Methonal/Water Injection for economy benefit!
I just sold my methanol kit if that helps you decide. Go with propane or just make your truck as efficient as possible in other ways- New to Cummins, need some possible fuel diagnostics

Funny 2 years ago I put in a revmaax and everyone was like - NOOOOO. So I did it anyway. Never had a a problem. Now a couple guys have done some more builds with revmax inlcluding some higher HP and its getting more respected as a build company - which is good. Point of the story is sometimes if you speak with the owner and get a good feeling on knowledge and phone support its worth saving a few $$ which is what I did. Lucky for me and now others its turned out well and they are now more often included in the list of "approved" vendors rather than non approved. Thats why I went with them - was Franks patience with me on the phone and the ONLY guy to tell me that I didnt need a new tranny - just a new TC and VB. Guess what - he was right (we tore it down later anyway and found out hardly any internal damage). So -I would say Revmax is a good company to deal with and save a few $$. You can go with Goerand or DTT or Garmon - but on some of these be prepared for longer waits and sometimes average service (DTT specifically - but they build good product). ALL builders will have a core charge on the TC. But most will let you pull the old one and send it back before applying the charge.- OK guys, my engine stalling when the put in drive is back with the winter fuel blend.
hmmm - different loading in different gear ?? Dont know. Problem is we could all have slightly different issues creating the stalling - but I almost guarantee that the 10 guys that have talked about this issue don't all have a problematic transmission. Could be a common problem related to the tranny (VB/TC) - but from memory most common denominator was new TC and injectors - could be wrong on that part now too tho as its been so long.- Injector Pop Pressure
What tester you using If I ever get back to MO im comming around http://www.cumminsperformanceparts.com/fuinshkitasa.html http://www.cumminsperformanceparts.com/inpopte.html- Noise from front end.

Why didn't go for 3rd gen upgrade ? What's the diff- Another Wolf Attack in Emmett, Idaho
I'm with you on this one big guy. But I dont live in Idaho. If your killing it for personal defence -> or you going to eat it then you can persuade me 50/50. If its a serious safety or economic hazard then again 50/50. But how many guys I saw up in alaska taking bear for trophies or other big game just for a picture shot - blah. And I enjoy hunting - just like to do it for a reason rather than a wall mount or picture.- What do the Family members here do for a living
IT geek. And wannabe professional diesel mechanic and fisherman.Failing on the last 2- Noise from front end.
Any pics ?? Not sure what you mean by blown ...... my understanding is if its bad enough it could result in chunks of the valve dropping into piston ...... that cant be good. But if its just cracked am sure you have some time before it does .......- Thinking out loud
yeah got to keep an eye on my frame and any rust.Have a few very small parts on bed I need to sand back and just spray with a primer and rust treatment - just from road chips etc. But other than that shes in reasonable condition- Thinking out loud
Any problems with my thought process ? Slowly build up the truck over next 5+ years. Might have 300000 on it. If it requires rebuild have it done say $6k for slightly over stock. Drive for another couple years and then get new paint body work say $6k. Then also do interior work say $3k. So in 7-10 years I would have a rebuilt engine.with say 100k on it - a brand new custom paint job and new interior. Basically a MINT looking 2001 in the year 2022 - still running almost new and just normal maintenance and upkeep for about $15k - and 10 years of use .... Rather than going out and buying a newer model truck. I'll be upgrading the front end here shortly anyways , as well as 3rd gen brakes and twins and know it won't be as fancy as the trucks of 2022 but it would be kinda semi classic Shrug- Mopar1973Man's Crankcase Vent Modification
Its been done I know that. I was thinking about doing it too- General performance question while pulling trailer
yeah me 2 Its quite suprising how these trucks dont come with more gauges or at least internal alarms on the dashboard like the tranny temp sensor - if EGT spikes for prolonged duration then alarm - I mean its only a 80 probe that could be built into the stock build to help protect the customer AND warranty claims.- OK guys, my engine stalling when the put in drive is back with the winter fuel blend.
yeah I dont know what lugs the engine down so much that causes it to cut out - even at 1000 rpm down ...I havent had the issue much since I moved to waramer climate and bets fix for me is putting in gear straight away - like key on, start and 3 seconds later in gear and gently cruise or keep foot on break. If its not warmed up and I move back to Park and idle ---- and then go back to gear - stall.- Mopar1973Man's Crankcase Vent Modification

I move around in my RV. Once I get the twins on and do a bit more fishing here - will head up north like boston adn then back down to the outer banks- General performance question while pulling trailer
Yeah did that 3 days prior - hit 18.7 mpg but with a bit more stop start travel through to Joyce Kilmer area. Not much downhill straight out of Robinsville going to Asheville ........ some long climbs there. After that pretty much even/down. Pretty country.- Oil filter
