  1. thx guys ......... just dropped my pan - will update in other thread (W+F) :P
  2. Thanks. You guys rock !!!!
  3. CoolI was on walamrt the other day trying to find their policy if they did or didn't Do you know if it costs ? And how about ATF-4 trans fluid ? thx guys - I wanna drop my tranny pan tomorrow (although we just got hit by another tornado so hope weather better tomorrow) but being in RV park - hard to keep the oil I have parents place I can take it too - but its like 4 hours away and I only get there every other month.
  4. okserious Q as I live in a trailer RV parkWhere can I dispose of OIL and ATF fluid ?? Does anyone take it for free - or for $$ ?? I don't want to ship it to Michael or ISX for 'oil wrestling' ......... too $$ and its not pretty :moon:thx
  5. 1) thanks Good to confirm with someone who 'knows' from experience 2) How do you keep the boost at 12 ? Just with the accelerator ? 3) Yeah was just gonna go single as only at 350HP - and people say this is enough - but figure 3x disk is $300 more and if I sell truck will probably hold value. Was going to do the transgo shift kit -> but not sure how hard to do ......... but I like its $100 instead of $350 ........... Revmaxx have a VB wih shiftkit and upgraded electronics (guessing governor solenoid and pressure solenoid) - then VB becomes $500 with shift kit and electronics. Will get stall speed of 1800 - I tow - but not that often. 9000lbs. 4) Yeah I get around 10mpg towing 9000lbs , but that was before chip - so hoping once 3x convertor and VB/shift kit might pick up 1-2MPG. Brakes - yes - I had a mate recommend the exact same thing you mentioned. Taking th 1 tonne breaking and seeing if I can put on my truck. Will have to investigate this as I hate stopping with that thing especially with the way people drive unaware you can't stop that quick ......... new respect for people/trucks now when I am not towing. Try to keep out of their way thanks cajflynn
  6. Yeah - I hear ya ...... but I have never taken the bed off so kinda curious to see how hard/easy - have access to joists and guys and ATV's with chains/ropes if required - just have to tee it up and drive 3 hours - but family so good to visit/hang So hard to disconnect everything (fuel lines and harness) from the inside ....... and then have to get the fuel out -> that sucked last time - but I was cheap and used a hand pump .......... I guess if I came from the otherside and disconnected the drive shaft I might have easier access - but not much ......... :P
  7. Yeah - I was thinking of using the sunpro guage as well rather than trying to hook into the existing wire harness Going to try and take the bed off 1st and check the fuel sender and float etc ......... just says FULL all the time.
  8. Hey cajflynn Saw you SIG and know michael talks about your cross country trips. Curious on any general advice for towing --- figured you'd know -- spefically around Towing in O/D ???J-HOOK and ETG'sMPG's3x TC - wot you have and do you think required over a single (and if so why) ? I am gonna try and beef up my trans with a TC and shiftkit or new new VB. And see where I am at.Was thinking of the j-hookget pretty crappy MPG towing 9000lbsno idea on O/D - have heard people say yes and no. other ?
  9. does this thread apply to :cheers: coz my wife says I am too old .......... Lucky I may be able to use that saved beer for a new tranny or part here of !!! ! WOOO HOO any1 to trade a 47re for a case of coors light ?
  10. Just saw this googling virtualbox http://www.linux.com/archive/feature/131753/ hehehe that virtualbox looked cool ......................
  11. Nope Already thought of that getting new doors - to add a bit more *bling* http://www.product-reviews.net/wp-content/userimages/2007/07/delorean-to-bring-back-their-car-to-the-future.jpg
  12. Here's that VID i was telling you about I reckon if I ever have to do the full trans rather than the TC - we just do it this way - seems simpler and much less $$ on tools etc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Des0bPrllXA
  13. ok its an old threadbut wow - RAM and disk is so cheap now - I can't wait when I finally settle down in my house (travelling for next year) to fork out a few $$ and run a single laptop that weighs 3-4lbs with 8 GB RAM and multiple cores in a raid config (possibly cause my disk might be hybrid SSD or even better an external -iscsi device) - all wireless and with dual 22" screens - maybe even a couple VM's running different things with that much power/RAM to share. Then shut down and start up another VM. Take to any other system - start her up.and it might even be a MAC -> just crossed over - and I have to say that fact that its not WINDOWS ......... is nice. This is my wifes laptop -> so I promised her I wouldn't touch itBUT - insteadI took our old 32-bit laptop with 2GB RAM and installed Linux and OpenOfficeand guess whatWireless works (not quite there yet - had a few hiccups nut 9/10) word workspdf's work No compatability issues -> and the WHOLE setup was free ...... let me say that one more time ................... FREE And its LINUX - ...... no blue screen of death .................... no driver conflict issues ..................... its running well and much more configurable
  14. Do you reckon you could use this NEXT to the existing fuel sender unit rather than replacing it http://www.sunpro.com/product_detail.php?pid=16355 It has gasketts as seals right - so ???
  15. Got my pressure up to 20psi right away. It hardly drops at WOT. like 2-3 psi. sch---wwweeeeeeetttt
  16. okSo had it pressure tested. All he really said was that there was leak in the 1 + 3rd gears (pressure) .... 2nd and 4th fine and OD. Said I need a new tranny -> but can't give me price till they tear it all apart. Somewhere between $3000 and $5000k.He did mention something about the governor solenoid - but by that time my head was mush. Then 20 mins later I finally get a call from DTT. Speaking with him and told him I was getting it pressure tested and he said that won't prove anything. Can't remember exactly why but something like the OEM doens't hold pressure properly or something anyway. Explained my symptoms and he said he thinks just TC. As its not slipping (eg revving like its in neutral) at any point ...... and best to just drop the pan and check there. If clean ...... apart from a little clutch dust etc ........ then TC/VB.So - I am kinda in a 505/50 crapshoot ........... and that tends to match with the 50 percent of people on forums saying NEW TRANS and 50% saying TC+VB.blah.Any1 want a 2001 dodge auto good truck except (maybe) the trans :surrender:lmao
  17. Think you just answered it Grab the 150 - that way of you EVER decide to add more mods and want more pressure - you have it What they quote you ? Jkidd is a vendor here and can probably get you a airdog for like $475 *guessing* Get the guages tho !!!! Gauge Gauge Gauge *lmao*
  18. ok - truck goes in for a transmission pressure test tomorrowI am then gonna drop the PAN and change ATF and filter and gaskett. If all looks ok in the pan - ( I think it will) ..... I am going to1) Tighten my bands/adjustment2) Order Upgrade the TC to a RevMax single disk TC 3) Order Upgrade the valvebody with shiftkit and upgraded electronicsI think I can get this done for around $950. I know everyone says goerand/DTT etc ..... but the guy was really helpfull and I have checked people on CF and quite a few guys who have a lot more MODS than me running them and say its doing well.Any thoughts or serious flaws in my thought process - I still think it shifts fine ............ it just doesn't seem to be efficient in the transfer of the power to the tranmisison within gearseg - its revs up without transferring power to the ground in 1 2 and 3 {unless fully floored} - when fully locked it feels pretty good:P
  19. I may have to check that I did that ..... hahaha - good point
  20. Leave it on there - that way if your FASS/AIRDOG/RAPTOR fails for some dumb luck - and you ain't near "help" you can at least put the other one back on to milk the truck home or somewhere. Or if you get a new truck - take the raptor with you - gonna be hard to sell the old one with no fuel pump or lines
  21. You could possibly have a 'slight' restriction in the fuel lineeg 'pinched' somwhere - which restricts your flow - especially with that drop at WOT.Although if you have OEM its probably just thatI think a volume test would PROVE that - you crank the lift pump - and bypass the fule into a measuring cup I am sure I did that from info from this site - if you search under vp44 michael has it somewhere - if nothing else its kinda interesting Might also save you with same issue if you install a FASS/AIRDOG - oh - *doh* except you replace the OEM lines ..... :lmao:yeah - I think the airdog is my BEST mod - it was like $500 and another $200 for the coupled guages (DON"T FORGET THE GUAGES) -> I know I am always getting a good supply of fuel - 14 PSI at WOT and 17-18 at idle/max.
  22. I don't mean it that way. I'm sure you are quite knowledgeable on the Cummins engine, but I'm really wanting feedback from someone with experience with the product. try this .... and lay of the ISX *joke* -> http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/98-5-02-powertrain/272993-tunnel-ram-anyone-know-about.html ---------- Post added at 06:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:18 PM ---------- Uh oh ...... jim caught me with my pants down ....................
