  1. Any links/postys on how to change injectors and whats involved ? Hard ?I heard these cummins have like 20000+ lbs pressure and can be dangerous ? Or is that only whilst running ?
  2. I don't remember this part either. If the screen is on and clipped in ok - I think it will be fine. Do you have any existing fuel pressure sensor for the stock pump ? even low pressure warning light ?I would get rid of that system though and go with the airdog/fass and drawstraw approach - now way I am doing another $1000 on a vp44 Plus makes me feel safe when I am modifying with chips/exhaust/intakes etc to get extra HP
  3. Tried the quadzilla and the hypertech.Michael and others kept telling me to get the edge and tap the vp44 (I posted multiple similar posts). I decided to send both back as the quadzilla gave me no end of trouble with software updates etc (I work in IT so it was their end) - but they did have good technical support. Hypertech was ok - a little for HP at high end - but not much at low end and no MPG (or little). So I went for a drive with a local guy here in STL who showed me the edche power levels 1-5 - AMAZING. So now I bought one for $400. I'd suggest whta Michael said - may be go for a ride with someone that has an edge, and then look for one second hand. Can get the COMP boxes for around $300 and the juice with monitor for $400 - plus JKIDD (and others) do great deals on new ones. I can't speak from personal experience yet on the edge - but on having tried the other stuff and seen this other guys truck - well excited !!
  4. BHAF all the way - I like the spool up I get on the turboAnd its only like $100 with outerwears (or less) as opposed to $200-$300 for similar filtersI have mine bungied in as well (stitting on thick cardboard at the moment) I also cut out a little of the heat shield fabric on the corner of the hood to ensure it doesn't block the BHAF - pretty sure it works and helps more air get to filter Just a small section directly over filter where not too much heat exists ;)
  5. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Bully-Dog-4-Stainless-Exhaust-System-94-02-Dodge-Ram_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem563956a59dQQitemZ370329167261QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories There are also bids as well - I got mine for $270 delivered. Thats 4" SS for doge - pretty easy to install - hardest part was getting old one off (ended up cutting parts) - sounds great and pretty low drone and nice 'groan' when you kick it
  6. Hi MIchael Thx for response. I got my NPT tap and drill today. Just finished installing my 4"" SS Bully Dog exhaust tonight. So this week sometime edge (weather). Since I have transmission temp and fuel pressure - do I need to hook these up to edge then ? I like the manual guages - and would then just use edge to control power levels and monitor EGT's and boost etc. Will this cause any problems ? thx m8
  7. Hey qq on install for edge juice I have existing guages for fuel pressure and transmission temperature. Can I just 'piggy back' the edge harness for each component to the existing sensors ? So that the fuel pressure sensor will send signal back to isspro gauge AS WELL as the edge monitor ... same for the transmission temperature port ? Also - can I run the edge just tapped into the VP44 and appropriate bosst fuse and grounds - i.e not installed EGT probe etc - will it work or try and defuel as safety features etc ?? thx:shrug: ---------- Post added at 02:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:37 PM ---------- Should have said - reason I ask is I don't have a tapping thread - and need to get one - so want to know if I can install and run truck without for a week etc ............. as well as the q's above on the guages/edge monitor using same fuel/transmission sensors ---------- Post added at 08:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:22 PM ---------- Any1 ?

  9. Man - thats friggin awesome - many thanks "Wild and Free" - had been on goerend a number of times - but looking at prices etc - So qq - I get the TC lockup - but when does it happen in your truck and how do you tell ??
  10. Hey Can someone give me a basic overview of how a TC works and what 'TC lockup' means ? any links or basic 101 info ? I need a 'Diesel Guides for Dummies' thx
  11. hahahahahaha ................... You need to meet my wife .......................... good luck ...... plus I like getting some in the morning - this diesel stuff is pretty friggin cool - but not 'THAT' cool
  12. ok - ok Getting the picture now ........ haha Maybe I should change the title of the thread to 'How to have wife approve spending 5k on my truck and still get to sleep in the same bed ' I have never had a truck - in fact - I was always one of those guys with a v6 gas sedan that had his oil changed at 'quicklube' etc ..... my wife calls it 'puss-i-fication' ............... not sure if thats ok to post here - but now I have 'Cummins' ....... So - off to change my oil, fix my map lights, install my edge, change my exhaust - and then work on that tranny lmao
  13. okHere's what I mean with the parts for the MAP lights in console inside cab So Basically I have the plastic 'nipple' that gets pressed when you hit the glass panel, the spring - and the other piece. It all went flying out on the one working side - and now when I put back together it has no 'spring' to it - just 'flat'. Am I missing a piece or do I need to put together in a certain way ? thanks
  14. ok - yeah I almost always just end up doing what Michael says - I just have it ask it 3 different ways. Well I ended up getting 1 second hand [edge juice] - and going to modify my exhaust as well.Going to start out slowly on levels 1-3 ...... obviously I don't think the tranny will hold 4-5 very often .... if at all so have made a few calls on a complete transmission rebuild. Found some for around $2700 - $3000k ........ do I really need to go 'billet' shaft if I am only doing around 350-400 hp ? (Basically stock + edge + bhaf + 4" exhaust) Appreciate the patience and advice Go Kansas !
  15. I'll send you a pic of the MAP lights and spring I mean. basically - in overhead console there are 2 lights. Behind the light is a spring device made up of 1) Spring2) 3 or 4 bits of plastic for on/off mechanism for light I wanna know how it alls sits together as I have them all over the place now - and I have 'no spring' - so wanna fix it I think I am putting the pieces in the wrong order thx
  16. OKHey - sorry - I have posted 'similar' post before but keep going round in circles as I have no idea what I am talking about. Narrowed down to Edge Juice with Attitude -as it taps the Vp44 Pros - seems very responsive and powerfulCons - might blow my stocktransmission TS MVPProds - plug and play and up to 100HP [supposedly]Cons - if at 100HP could still do tranny damage - can I really get 100HP without tapping the VP44 Smarty Pros - good timing advance and good reviews - increase MPG ?Cons - will I feel it ? Will it give me extra MPG ? Doesn't Tap the VP44 thoughts/ratings ??then I need to BUY this thing !!! Any1 got any to sell second hand ?? thanks
  17. 3 dumb quick questions 1) Can someone paint me a picture or upload one) of how the spring/plastic button in the overhead MAP lights go together. I had it fixed (1 side) then took it apart for reference to fix other side and it all flew over the truck - and now neither work so I have no point of reference. Just the spring activated button with the plastic toggles. How many pieces and how they connect to create the 'spring'. 2) I had a faulty vp44 and tracked back to dodgy (like the pun ?) fuel output/return lines on top of fuel canister in tank. Whilst taking the grey clip off the harness/canister to check I broke it - and now it says FULL all the time when reconnected. I bought a second once from an 02 dodge with 6" wiring - can I just cut the old one off and splice the wires together and use new clip for good connection ? 3) How do you tell when tranny is going as opposed to TC ........... and when to replace ?? I have stock with 4x4 auto and I want to get edge juice attitude etc and not sure how long tranny will last THANKS GUYS !!!
  18. HeyYeah they look pretty ok - I think I can get a slightly better price on a MBRP tho .........................was really wanting to straight pipe it as people including moparman have done and but then seemed like I 'might' have to change back to muffler exhaust for inspections every 1-2 yrs - and I will be living in RV so hard to tow around 2nd exhaust so then was wondering if I can still straight pipe it - but add the most basic muffler via clamps somewhere - that I could easily add for inspections and remove for the rest of the year. just seems a hassle so thinking just a 4" MBRP or silverline as they seem the cheapest
  19. Hey - yeah - I have talked to a bunch of people on here and around where I live and thinking I might be creating too many headaches for myself due to the MO laws (require muffler) and we will be travelling through a bunch os states over next cpl years. Anyone seen this ? http://www.parleysdieselperformance.com/site/988369/product/AEROMUFFLER not sure if I can post here - but was wondering if I can just straight pipe the exhaust but include a muffler like this - seems since its straight through it should work fairly well ?? I guess though then there might not be much difference in cost and everything to just buying a MBRP with straight through muffler. still scratching ?? ...........
  20. sweet any idea on approx cost "Valve Body and TQ Conv " and whats involved ? parts/labor ? can do basic stuff to my truck - but never played around with anything real mechanical on it or any other carhard to do ?
  21. Hey guys thanks - great info .......... haven't tried towing at 55mph - normally closer to 60-65 - so might look into that and see if any difference. crazy detail micheal - I do remember seeing that before - but quite useful right now I am focused more on MPG - where the heck do you get the time anyway - going to get a few more calcs with the BHAF/hypertech , and then probably consider new exhaustpossible switch to edge with vp44 taplater switch out for some lower weight tires might also consider injectors but 2 questions 1) I have auto stock transmission with 118k on clock and towing - could this be a bad move (too much torque/hp)2) Can I just do the 1st stage of injectors all all of them ?
  22. hey gasser :P What weight you hitting 14 MPG towing ? any idea ? thx
  23. Hi MichaelYeah - you mentioned that before - thx for the info - but was curious as what other people had experience with as that is a lot better than what I get towing. So was wondering what could cause my drop in mpg towing specifically - and if its normal - based on your figures it seems mine is a little low.So then I was wondering if I should drop my Hypertech and get a Edge like you ? Assuming yours is the 'Edge Products Comp Module' not the 'Edge EZ'. still working out if the hypertech is helping me - it feels better but last time I filled up the lie-o-meter said 20 (improved from 17) but the hand calc was 15.9. [Not towing]
