  1. So I put a manual boost controller (basically, an adjustable boost elbow, only located in a different spot) on my '97.My 97's HX35 WGA gets its boost signal from the AFC "T" port, rather than the compressor housing's elbow.Without it, I see about 20-22psi under load, max. With it, in full boost adjustment, I get MAYBE 25psi..I also tried pinching off the WGA's signal hose, and it made no difference. With a #100 plate, full-forward, shouldn't it:A: smoke hard under off-boost conditions when the pedal is mashedB: make 30+psi boost under full load, like say, a 30mph roll, flatten the pedalI get neither of these conditions.. It'll mildly smoke under full-throttle stomps, and will produce a short, heavy black smoke puff when I stab it from a stop.. But that's about it..no, I don't want the heavy smoke, but it should be a product of the situation, no?Is it a fueling/timing/fuel-flow issue? Ideas? Discuss:
  2. I miss that..
  3. Without the 1st 12 valves, a 24 valve is just that... a 12 valve
  4. I will agree with this. The Posi-Lock is not as intuitive as others, but it is definitely functional
  5. So I spoke (at length) with Craig @ Goerend yesterday. He says my 'cheapest' option, as I expected, was to go with a manual VB, but we're still looking at 650-750$..
  6. When they quit suckin', that's the time to kick 'em to the curb.. So, in my opinion, the Dyson is over-rated, and over-priced.. We bought one to replace our beat-down Hoover canister vac. Returned it in short order and bought another Hoover @ Target. http://hoover.com/products/details/uh70015/platinum-collection-cyclonic-bagless-upright/ It's a beast. We also bought their carpet cleaner, the Max Extract 60 Pro Carpet Deep Cleaner http://hoover.com/products/details/fh50220/max-extract-60-pressure-pro-carpet-deep-cleaner/ It's a beast, too!
  7. Rogan replied to ISX's topic in General Conversations
I'm with you on this.. Seeing ISX's video post, then your post... Reminds me of the "Old bull, young bull" story my dad (RIP) used to tell me all the time, growing up..
  8. WOW.... http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=5091&d=1361767698
  9. Yep, I agree. My old '96 would roll coal and 40psi was easy. This '97 is definitely not the same animal. It was originally a 5speed, but the ignorant P.O. swapped in an auto.Only time I "roll coal" is if I mash the pedal to the firewall quickly. Even then, it'll "medium coal" for about a second and then it stops smoking. My '96 would roll coal as long as you had it mashed.. It had only exh., bhaf, #10 plate, boost elbow, and 3kGSK.
  10. Ok, so I installed the adjustable MBC.. looks like this: (Boost signal in the bottom, out side port to WGA) I installed it between the AFC and WGA, since my WG gets boost signal from the AFC's "T" port. So fully adjusted out (least boost setting) I get like 20-22psi max. Fully adjusted in (max boost) I "may" see 25psi.. WTF lol Is it a fuel issue, or lack of? It's got a #0 fuel plate and it's slid full-forward, as is the starwheel (I know, that's pre-boost)... I've got no boost leaks.
  11. You should DEFINITELY enter it sometime :-) Sent from my cm_tenderloin using Tapatalk 2
  12. add me to that PM list, please!
  13. but mine doesn't change, towing or empty..
  14. I'm same as mindless.. my 3500 averages 11.5-12.5mpg.. The 3gen looks sweet, mike.
  15. I know there's a check-ball in the rear-most -AN fitting of the block-mounted trans cooler.I've heard of another one, but haven't seen one yet.
  16. I'm in the same boat with ISX.. I can just touch the overloads when the trailer is hooked and loaded..My 2500 was another story.. No overloads, and it would squat with a quickness..
  17. what I have.. http://www.4x4posi-lok.com/app_dodge.html
  18. No, $%^&!? Walmart sells WalMart Super Tech?
  19. I'd probably still throw a couple gauges at it, IMO.
  20. if it's supposed to be 19ohms, and yours (ADawg) is reading 15ohms, that more current draw from the outlet, which could trip the GFI circuit. Mine will trip every once in a great while..
  21. I have a Voodoo MBC. I just found it last night, but haven't installed it yet.
  22. I tried that with my 24v, and it never did gain boost. I had to put the boost elbow in.. I hae some hemostats I can try it with the 12v.
  23. yeah, they do sit low.. On my last trip to Texas, I followed a slammed KW through Tennessee, haulin' cattle. We both stopped at the truckstop, and when he pulled into the truckstop, he raised the air suspension up to pull in. It was pretty badass.
  24. On the 24V (VP, early CR) engines, the wastegate is controlled pneumatically, or mechanically, if you will. Only by spring pressure within the wastegate actuator. The spring pressure keeps the gate closed. When the boost pressure is high enough to override the spring pressure, it pushes the gate open.A boost elbow, or 'boost controller' restricts and bleeds off boost pressure before it reaches the wga (waste gate actuator)It doesn't actually "change" the wastegate setting, it just basically tricks it, so to speak..
