1. I have a new Bosch one here I can put in tomorrow. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
2. I didn't think you were blowing me off. I need to order a banjo bolt for the tapped piece. I cannot find the VP bolt I had :(There is a banjo bolt with a secondary plug in the top, on my pump. Its on the front-side of the pump on the return line I believe. I didn't get an chance to check the thread size of the plug screw, nor did I hat to determine if it and the supply banjo bolts are the same size. Maybe tomorrow. 3. For me, I work my truck 8months out of the year ; more if it snows. I get what you're saying though, which is why I'm trying to finish my '82 rabbit truck. But there is that whole " insufficient funding" thing :)Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
4. I am in a similar commute scenario as you. I drive 7mi each way. I plug the truck in on cold nights (timer comes on at 430-500am, and I generally leave around 7-730) In winter, it's never warmed up by the time I get to work. Same for the trips back home from work (sans the plugin option)..Even plugged in in the morning, Coolant is only around 100*. It aids in starting ease, but that's about. On these short jaunts, blocking the radiator is fruitless.

6. Ok, thanks. - - - Updated - - - I moved this to 12V section, as it's now a technical thread
7. thanks. It's supposed to be in the 60s here this weekend, so hopefully I can check this out..

BWHAHAH!!6 speed transmission: $400S.O.F. transfer case 241HD: $100I wish I could go buy a new one for that right now..
9. i did forget about the high caster setting.. :banghead:However, on W&Fs tire wear comment: If the rear axle is 'crooked', it'll wear both tires on the same edge. It'll hang the butt of the truck out to one side (dog-walk). This will hang out to the side that has the furthest back tire. The tires will wear the edge to the opposite..What I mean is, if the passenger tire is 1/4" forward, the tail of the truck will hang to the driver's side. This will wear the right-side edges of the tire, as the forward motion is to naturally want to pull them back over. You'll also have to compensate with a left steering input to counteract this pull and keep it in a somewhat straight line.
10. If it doesn't dogwalk, then it isn't crooked. The pull could be tires, drag, something. An SS won't cause pull but will allow bump steer .Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
11. ahh. Is that where I'd test fuel pressure as well?
12. where's the bleed screw? (I haven't looked yet.)
13. this pressure-port banjo was in the side of the vp44, where a fuel line connected.. not the filter housing.
14. all i have is a set of digital calipers and a DVMM with temp probe. LOLside question:will the schrader-valve type banjo bolt thingy (OE) for testing fuel pressure on a VP44 work on a p7100? I may have one of those laying around and possibly be able to use that and my pressure tester to check fuel pressure.. (if I can find that banjo bolt thingy in the garage..)
15. no, i don't have one. and for some strange reason, I don't think the straight-edge + tape measure would suffice
16. i know of the plunger thinga-mabob that you push in/can push in when the rotation is in a certain position, but aside from that, I don't know how to verify timing..
17. i use the oven, prop the door open with a wooden spoon, set temp at 175. At least, that's how I do jerky.
18. I'd have to idle it for a long time before leaving, in order to get the temp up higher. that was about 10 minutes into my morning commute. The truck was plugged in last night, as well, and this was one of the warmer mornings we've had here, recently.
19. I've used toothpaste to buff scratches out of console game and music cds, as well as polish taillight lenses and instrument cluster lenses.
20. coolant temp 145, ambient 40. 40mph in OD. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
21. nope, I've got no frankenshoes :)The 24V had a few issues. This one has given me problems since day one.My '96 was the best truck of all. I loved that thing. I sold it due to it being a single cab, and the 4 of us couldn't go anywhere in it together, unless we took two vehicles..
