1. Gas truck? Bam hammer! lOLSent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
2. It has governor springs but mine had a set of 3000s in it. I can tell you that it was buzzing way beyond that lol. Kinda pulsating revs so to speak. I pee'd a little. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
3. I agree with JR, but my butt-hole will only draw up "so" tight. Now if I still ran heavy equipment daily (used to be my profession), it'd be a different story.. I'd put my Cat 992C FEL and my Cat 773B into some crazy situations, but felt comfortable in doing so.
4. Wonder why VA is in "Great Lakes" section, rather than like "Mid-Atlantic" or even "Southeast".. I mean, Our NHL hockey team is in the SE division
5. Welcome to the forum, Dave!
6. I've seen the 241s fairly cheap ($200-400 range).. I don't know how much the cases are, but if you factor in disassembly/reassembly time, it may be a cheaper alternative..As for the DLD/DHD swap, I "Think" that the rear output section is the difference, as far as using the existing rear driveshaft. Not 100% sure, though.
7. I rented one last year. I (personally) felt a little more comfy by bringing it on/off my trailer with the bucket to the rear, and fairly close to the ground.. sort of a 'wheelie bar', for lack of a better term, since my trailer's ramps are a little on the steep side for something so short..
8. Its dark now...Before I started messing with them:After:I think its much better. :)Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
9. OK... so I replaced my headlights this evening. Here's what they look like on the passenger side. The left one with the red ring is the one that I took out. Right one is the new Sylvania ultra. This is a shot with the right one being the new bulb, the left one being the original. Here are the ones in the driver side you'll notice that the original one was different than the passenger one. Here are both new headlights in. Granted, it's not very dark right now so I'll take another picture later.Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
10. my grandpap used to tell me that joke as far back as I can remember.. :)He used it as his "patience and perseverance" lesson. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
11. you shouldn't 'need' a puller. At least, I've never needed one... prolly coulda used one a time er two.. LOL
12. I experienced this with my '96 12V when the rack stuck full forward while passing a car. Shut the key off and it said "KMA!" and kept screaming. I finally got it stopped, yanked the hood open, ripped the BHAF off, took off my sweatchirt and shoved it in the inlet.. still took about 15-20sec. to fully choke out.. It was interesting, to say the least.
13. An elderly man in Louisiana had owned a large farm for several years. He had a large pond in the back. It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed it up nice with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple and peach trees. One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over. He grabbed a five-gallon bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee. As he came closer, he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond. He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end. One of the women shouted to him, 'we're not coming out until you leave!' The old man frowned, 'I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked.' Holding the bucket up he said, 'I'm here to feed the alligator...' Some old men can still think fast.
14. any codes? any mods? is the truck stock? did it just 'start' doing it?Basically, give us as much detailed info as you can, please.
15. there is (should be) a plastic cover over each wiper shaft. It will either pop off, or pop and hinge toward the arm/blade direction. Under that, there should be a (usually) 13mm or so nut that holds the wiper arm to the driven shaft. Take those nuts off, and mark/note the position of the arms. ** some arms are held on by a little 'lock', instead of the nuts. I'll be located on the underside of the arm at the shaft-section. There will be a small tab visible on either side of the arm. This will need to be slid to the opposite side to position the 'clearanced' section of the slide-lock to clear the splined driven shaft. Then (if there's room) stand the wiper arm up 'vertical' if it is designed to do so. This will take all fulcrum tension off the splined section and you'll be able to wiggle the wiper arm section up off the shaft. Most likely, there are 4 or so plastic retainers to hold down the cowl covering. Sometimes, they're screws.. Then work the cowl cover off of the cowl and go from there. - - - Updated - - - The 2000 model year uses same transmission/linkage PN as the 95, but here's a '95 picture of how the wipers are retained (nuts).. also, a pic of the cowl section..
16. It's definitely the correct bulbs (9004).I bought a new set of Sylvania Ultras yesterday, but it was dark by the time I got home. Maybe, if I get home before dark tonight, I'll swap them and get you a comparison picture of the bulb(s) and the lighting output. I want to (at the same time) add relays for the headlights, if I get the chance, but I've got to pick up more wire to do that..
17. Will do. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
18. Its the correct bulb and not damaged. I may buy a set of inexpensive replacement bulbs to test before I drop $40 on a good pair. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
19. "Here", its $/lb, regardless of a car or not. At least at our scrap metal place. I took a VW golf (1990) a few weeks ago and got 280$ for it, no fuss no muss. The salvage yard said they'd give me $50. Mmmhmm. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
20. well its better... but still sucks. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
21. metal $ is up. scrap it.. not at a junkyard, but at a true metal scrapper.throw the other engine(s) and whatever else metal and heavy in it, and haul it off..what kinda subaru is it, btw?
22. Guess it all depends on how bad you want it to go in.. (hush, dorkweed) lolSent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
23. I can drive a loooong way before I have to ____-stop.. but once I break the seal, I have to lay off the drinks for awhile, else I'll be pulling over often..
24. So I just went outside (I'm at work) for a short smoke break, and decided I'd take a peek at the headlight..Turns out (hopefully it's now fixed) that the moronic previous owner put the headlight bulb in wrong..I turned the lock collar and it wasn't "locked" in place. But it was kinda stuck to the bulb, so I pulled the bulb out, too..Looking at it (I wish I had my phone with me so I could've taken a picture, but he has the collar on backwards, and the bulb was forced into the housing. After about 5 minutes of fighting to separate the collar and bulb, I finally got it apart, and got the bulb back into the housing correctly. Then I had to use a pocket knife and fix a couple of plastic burrs on the collar to get it to seat properly. It's now all back together, so I'll check it out tonight, when it gets dark.:banghead:Just another FUBAR with this truck and it's previous owner's lack of know-how...
25. I almost bought them yesterday, but choked a little at $40/pr..
