  1. They definitely not hard to find.
  2. Mine screeches some times. Figured it was the fuzzy worn off of some wearher sripping at the bottom. LMC Truck sells it.
  3. That is a 12v tappet cover. I guess some of the 98.5 could have had them new.
  4. @Dynamic would know. Me, I know nothing about torque convertors other than my 6 speed dont need one.
  5. Got a picture of this more modern breather?
  6. I suspected them maybe being the source of some electrical gremlins I was experiencing. That was not the case. Inhad a bad splice on the 5v signal wire that ended up being the culprit. This was a self inflicted splice and not one from the factory. I have never touched mine. The one in the picture is a spare harness I have.
  7. Here is picture of the ground in the harness to give you an idea of where is. As far the electrcal aspect I will leave that to the more knowledgeable folks. Though I have heard of a bad oil pressure sensor that will wreak havoc on the sysrem.
  8. I have never taken an injector apart to know the ins and outs of it. I guess the work could have upset the pop pressure enough for miss fires and your issue. Is there a diesel shop near by that could test them?
  9. How did you set the pop pressure for the injectors? Good rule of thumb, when it was running good before go back and check what you did.
  10. I am stil sruck in 2002. Would not have a clue.
  11. Sorry hear all this. Sonds like the rain we had at the end the year. We were fortunate in that the worst flood was east of us. But we still got 30" of rain in Sept. Oct. Nov. And Dec. That is the most rain I have seen in that time period in my life. You know whats best, just got to do it. Good luck my friend.
  12. My thoughts riding back were a loose injector line. Then I noticed how weird it sounded. Thats when the mind started wondering. What did you do wrong? Bolt off and on stuff does not bother me, but this by far is my largest gravel drive way job. A lot more detail in this undertaking. Dodging the weather sucks but knowing I did it myself is satisfying at the least. Now having a resourse such as this place makes the job much easier. So thanks to every one for the support.. I have some slightly used rocker assemblies I will let go of cheap.
  13. 465k and have not touched mine except to change the fluid.
  14. I might add that the 6.7 rocker assemblies fit just fine. Upon closer examination the shafts not only have the extra oil groove cut in them but also a hole drilled on angle from the top to feed it. I went a Kenworth place before buy the assemblies on ebay and the updated shafts are o ly 12 bucks apiece. @Dieselfuture, I realize that these are NOT the same hardened ones you got from Manton. I realize that and will check it soon. For today I am done with #6. If its bent I have spare push rod and adjusters. Lets hope it is not.
  15. I did not check the push rod. I am going to re do the valves soon since I set #6 intake on a warm engine and not cold like all the rest. Set it to .008 warm versus .010 on the cold.
  16. @Dparr25 dont sweat it man, we have had many discussions about the lie-o-meter hear in the past. Just wanted to be sure you knew it. Some folks have moved thru here swearing that is the correct mileage. Sounds like you know how use a calculator.
  17. Struggled a bit on the test drive. Didn't get to the main road before I could tell that one of clamps on the intake horn was loose. Still ran good just made a strange noise. Go back and tighten it up and head to the main road. All is well. Turn down the main and a miss slowly comes on. Turn around and head back and it gets worse. It was a strange miss not like a dead cylinder. I get back and open the hood and its a miss I have never heard. Very erractic. I have raw fuel and a slight hint of blue smoke. Also have 2 injector lines weeping a little but never had a miss from a leak that small. Got to dig a little deeper. I pulled the valve cover and low and behold the intake bridge on #6 has fallen off the valves. I can see the push rod is way up above jam nut. Not sure what to the think, I know the mechanic says he tighten them. So I reinstalled it and I see what happened. There is only a small arc open in the rocker to turn the wrench. I caught myself again thinking it was tight only to realize that the wrench was hitting the rocker after it starting snugging up. Had to reset the wrench to really get it tight. Double checked all of them just to be sure. Fire the truck up and its running fine. Took another test drive and all is well. I don't figure I have hurt anything but I out my realm on that one. What say ya'll?
  18. I you were really getting that kind of milage you be going a 1000 miles on a tank.
  19. Come on in. The chickenator has a sense humor. Chickens are getting wet too. Next thing you know @Mopar1973Man will get himself some wood and a screamin beaver.
  20. Pile it on boys, I dont care. After 3 minutes of priming and 5 minutes of on an off starting, SHE IS ALIVE AND PURRING LIKE 24V. Test drive after lunch.
  21. If I was buying one today it would be the the quad. It seems to be most versatile out there.
  22. If he brings @Mopar1973Man with him we will have to check turbo too. I figured the 12 pack was for the initial consultation. The love never ceases to amaze me.
  23. Keep priming. As you good fuel to one injector close it. Then keep priming until you get fuel to anther one and so on. If you have good fuel to 3 of them it should fire off. It is going to sound like crap until all the air is out of it. Just let it run until it smooths out. Dont get discouraged, most times re priming is fairly quick but occasionally mine will be stubborn. You just have stay with it. Not sure on the crossover tubes for your year. They are a bit diiferent mine from what I hear. Mine went into whatever hole they went in. Since you instslled new injectors I cant see what difference it makes.
  24. I'll start with 3 and be shocked if it goes to four. But you nevef know.
