  1. I still use it for a lubricant and a solvent. Never been able to glue anything together with but never thought to try. It will clean tar off of auto paint with hurting the paint. It is great at freeing up sticky mechanisms.
  2. It is still very satisfying to hear that Cummins fire off after a repair. Always makes me think I can do anything. Felt that way the other day when I changed my fuel filters and sucked a big air bubble in there. Glad you got your problem fixed.
  3. Cant help with the tranny but it is good see your are still alive and kicking,
  4. I am guessing the ball is the rollover ball. It plugs filler neck if you roll over. I have never seen one though so I could be wrong. I cant give you any advice on a winter fuel additive. I have never had to use any.
  5. Sounds like you have some fuel getting in the crank also if your oil is growing.
  6. Did CPP build that tranny or are they just a seller of someone elses build?
  7. I cant add a thing to what TY and HAG have shown you. I am about 5 hours from Charlseton back in mid NC. I have never been out your way so I am sure it is a good bit different than what you are used to. I visit would be in order for you to really get an idea of what it is like. A lot of good people out this way and good country side.
  8. The main reason I put mine this forward in the system is that I kept the factory fuel canister with filter in the system. You want to read pressure post filter or filters in my case.
  9. I got the big line kit from Vulcan and ordered a tapped tee along with it. It is installed about half way between the filter canister and the VP. I did not use a snubber, i have the valve barely cracked open. I also used the nylon tubing to go to the gauge. Napa sells some black air line hose that is better but this has held up for 6 years. If it ever fails I would get the air line to replace it. My gauge is in an a pillar pod and I drilled a small hole in the bottom of the pod holding the gauge so I could tell whether it was leaking. some folks do use a snubber also and it cant hurt. Mine still works fine. I got the valve from Vulcan also. A lot parts houses have them also.
  10. That would be the one.
  11. did not mean to bust up your thread. My apologies..
  12. I was born in 1953 and probably ate some lead paint in my life. Most of the walls were plaster back then. But I hung and finished drywall back in the 70,s. No lead but plenty of asbestos.
  13. @Me78569is the room made of rubber?
  14. Welcome to the farm Steamershot. I hope your problems can be solved here. I saw your post and am afraid I cannot help. But if it is solved maybe i will know why my 02 is surging. No mods like yours on mine.
  15. if you are using the oe lift pump connector to run the pump the ECM would not know the difference.
  16. That might be the quickest hook up I have ever seen here. @SteamershotI built a Chick-fil-a in Yorktown 10+ years ago. @Transplant87I would love to visit Co one day in the future, maybe not for the chicken.
  17. My understanding is with stock wheels you have to grind. Most aftermarket wheels I have looked into have much less off set and will work. You just have to clear the rim. A 17" will do it or a 0 offset rim will do it. I believe the OE wheels have a 45mm off set. The 0 offset wheel will stick out about 1 3/4" from stock.
  18. It is the jumping out of gear that bugs me. I lost the throw out bearing on my Valair clutch at 70k. It made noise with the clutch in or out. Worse while the clutch was in but not alot. The tranny did not jump out of gear however. I have no experience with a bad pilot beating. Is CPP a local company?
  19. I would definitely try some 2 stroke and see if it frees the timing piston up. Not that that will be a fix all but it would at least identify the problem. Put it in heavy and see if it helps. It is unusual for a VP to go with no codes but it has happened.
  20. I am no tranny expert by any means but it does sound like something is going bad. Mike would know more than I would. Who did your reman?
  21. Dropping a grand and hoping can get expensive. Who did you buy the VP from?
  22. Does the cloud smell like of diesel fuel or anti freeze ? Check your codes with a code reader. The key trick does not always retrieve everything. Even my 02 that reads both computers does not always get them all.
  23. can you tell us a little more about the truck, like year, auto or manual, type of lift pump with pressures idle and wot. It would be helpful.
  24. I guess this is one of those experiences that leads to bad reviews we have all read. I can understand your frustration and hope this ends up a lot better than it is proceeding. Also the lope I experienced is nothing like you are describing. Mine was more a wtf was that. Noticeable but nothing as you describe.
