2001 Cruise Control Issues
5 speeds came with SO pumps also, just like the autos. The 6 speeds came with the HO pumps. The reman ECM on mine caused the CC light to stay lit whenever the truck was on and the cruise did not work. The second one that is, the first one failed to work at all. Always figured the second was for an auto but after 3 months of being down I had to use the truck. Drove it for a year with no cruise until that ECM failed. The new ECM I got after that with proper programing solved my issue. As best as I know the PCM reads the signals from the sensors and relays the info to the ECM and it sets the cruise speed. I am speaking of a factory set up vehicle. If it has been retrofitted to manual tranny, the wirings hacked and an unknown PCM installed, I dont know what you have.

I have to ask what apps did you use, oe style or an aftermarket? A Timbo apps is the best money can buy for the 2nd gens. Pretty much plug and play and very reliable. I would also recomend doing WT's ground mod. It is in the articles section and easy to do. Unfortunately I cant seem to link anything these days. I would do this before chasing the odd codes unless they are causing drivability issues. Then after see what comes back.

Can someone help with factory height
Notmso much so since the tree fell on it. Without the extra overload if you do load up heavy the rear will be squatted. Dont let us beat you up to hard on leveling. If its what you want do it. Just do it right so you dont have regrets down the road.

2nd gen cummins having some issues
You sure the tranny is not slipping? If it is reving higher and not accelerating up hill its sounds like tranny may be low fluid or need a fluid and filter change. A hill with a stock truck empry should not be any problem for the truck. And welcome to the forum.

Can someone help with factory height
I like mine at 3", Not sure if 4" would bother me either. I used to deliver building materials looooonngggg ago. Every 3/4 ton I drove had a lot of rake to them empty. Always liked it. I am not a big tire guy myself but like how some of them look. The cool thing is we all own our trucks and can do any darn thing we like to them. My daughter dated a guy a while back. They came over in his brand new F250 all jacked on big tires and a lift so tall I could hardly see over the grill into the engine bay, and I am 6'4".

I just did a quick measure from the ground to the underside of the fender wells. Nothing that accurate. Thats a nice looking truck the way sits for my taste anyway.

Tach and no communication issue
Do you have any trouble codes?

Tach and no communication issue
Your 98 has both a crank sensor and cam sensor. I cant remeber which one reads rpm for the gauge to display. Some one will come along that knows better than me. The WTS light stuff is pointing to an ECM problem. The other stuff is above my paygrade.

Can someone help with factory height
That's why I left mine alone. With the 5th wheel on it sits level. The rake never bothered me. Kind of if like myself. The camper package did not add anything to elevate the rear. The overload spring is not engaged until about 2" of suspension travel. If your rear springs are the same as mine excluding the extra overload I could see a bit more height in the rear completely empty. Mine never is empty.

From the factory the front end is about 3" lower than the rear or the rear is about 3" higher than front. Depends on your perspective. Age and extra weight on the truck can change that. I have the camper package with an extra overload on top but have the same block on the rear as you.

Sorry for the double post. The first one was typed so bad l could not read it. @trailhead is definiely right on ac noise.

2001 Cruise Control Issues
The WT ground is highly recomended for our wnd gen trucks. Did mine couple years ago maybe anc it will cut the AC voltage from the aternator makes the 2nd gens act up. Cruise control is one sytem the AC noise can mess with. The mid us listed at the top of the powertrain forum. It may help yours, dont know. You have some unknowns with your truck.

Random Miss at idle and constantly feels like it’s detuning going down the road. 01 24v 6 speed
Woild this be the what you have? 151-1085200.pdf From a quick read it would appear that the MAP is tapped for the 5v reference signal to the added sensor. What kind of boost pressure do you normally see? I ask because without a tuner or boost fooler once you pass 20 psi the ECM will defuel the engine and set a code, 234.

That would be correct. Tuner.

What year ttuck? Is there a runer on it?

My nightmare trip and now a problem.
Remove the breather on the front of the engine. The pump gear is behind it. With a mirror look and see if the key is engage with the notch in the gear and the pump shaft. Also the key is directional. If put in backwards it can throw the timing off. You would have to pull the pump to check that one.

Sheared fan pulley bolts???
IIRC you need a special wrench to get the fan off. Never taken mine off except as an assembly.

99 24v crank but no start new vp44 and ecm repaired
Who did your ECM? A lot of fly by nighters out there.

Any trouble codes pointing to the VP or the ECM? Fuel system bled properly after the VP install?

1999 Dodge Ram 2500 quad cab short bed box start issue please help!!
The only time I saw white smoke out of mine was when the bridge on the intake valves fell out and nothing but fuel got in the cylinder. Put out a fair amount of white diesel fumes. Not enough to block out the view of the road though.

2 sources ofmwhite smoke are anti freeze and diesel. They smell like what they are. The only time I have had diesel was after a cylinder quit firing and she belched a good of smoke that wreaked ofmdiesel. I suupose the diesel could burn your eyes as I dont think the the anti freeze would. Does it smoke constantly or is it intermittent? Coud the "holifex" be a hall effect sensor? Both the cam and crank senor are that type. And the cam sensor is between the block and the VP with a 2 wire cable going to it. That sensor or the wiring could be your issue. It is a pain to get to with the pump on but others have done it, but not me personally. The cam sensor 5v signal source is shared by other sensors. So if the wiring is bad it can can affect others. I would think you should have code sensor wise at least. The control box you speak of is the ECM I believe. Those 2 wires should go back to the ECM or the main engine harness that goes back to the ECM. Since you have already uncovered one bad spot in those wire it would be good to check the length of them.

Moving to almost the great white north.
Congrats on the closing.

First off welcome. We can try to work thru some of this until others come along. Is the white smoke present all the time and what does it smell like? What kind scanner are you using for reading codes? The key trick does not work on a 99. A lack codes is a bit odd. A failed MAP sensor will lower power considerably. The ecm wont command much fuel without some signal from the MAP sensor. A failed sensor should set a code. Free reving the engine in the driveway will produce very little boost, the engine needs to be under load. I don't think you would see any white smoke with a blown MAP anyway. Not sure what the "holifex" sensor is you speak of. Your lift pump is capable of pushing fuel past the VP if it is on and the motor is not running. Nothing unusual at all.

2001 Cruise Control Issues
Pretty sure both the 01 and 02 manual trucks are fly by wire cruise, 5 or 6 speed. Trying to make it work with what you have is above my pay grade.
