  1. Is your 01 ECM burnt up? Sometimes the different years dont play well together.
  2. Yes it would. Cruise is computer controlled in the 01 and 02 manual trucks. Did not realized you changed the computers too. The 01 and 02 are very similar and I would think if everything is working right you are good to go. You could get the computers re-flashed for cruise I suppose. if the 01 computers are still good swap them on and see what happens.
  3. I changed my stock ones at around 250k and ran a set of RV275's for the next 160k or so. The only thing either set ever did was get slight high idle when coasting to a stop. Once I got under 5 mph it would idle normally. Other than that they ran fine.
  4. The kits I am looking at are not Dorman. I resealed my vacuum pump about 3 years ago and it is still dry as bone. The PS pump was to but not any more. A new pump from RA is about 130 buck plus freight. But the old still works fine if it would just hold fluid. Decisions decisions.
  5. Well after 500k+ my power steering pump has started leaking. The steering and the brakes work fine, just loosing the fluid somewhere. Any body ever reseal their pump? The kits are cheap but they dont come with any bearings and I have to assume there some bearings in there some where. I can get new replacement for a 150 bucks, just cant decide which way to go.
  6. I had the stick on ones that finally rotted away. No more of those for me. 60 bucks aint a bad deal.
  7. I need some of those myself.
  8. I thought Infinity speakers was the upgrade. And the tweeter in the A pillar was part of it. Been a long time since I considered that though. Mine did not come with the cassette player like yours @015point9. Think that was an 02 thing.
  9. My 02 has the sticker in the glove box. Never noticed one under the hood.
  10. Should be in the PDC on the drivers fender. Has a cover on it and several more relays, fuses and such in it.
  11. I missed the part you have relay. I lost it in the translation somehow. What IBMobile says above is what you need to do. That will take it off of a key on hot that runs the pump constantly and put the ECM in charge. Sorry for any confusion I caused.
  12. I believe he needs this whole set up. As I understand @DoggyDiner is just wired to a key on hot with no relay. Key on pump on. That is correct is it mot Mr DD?
  13. Cant figure why FASS and apprently AD both got away from the wiring harnes with relay that is controlled by the oe fuel pump pigtail other than to save themselves money. Using a relay controled by the ECM reduces fuel pressure during cranking for this very reason. The older FASS and AD's used to come with a wiring harness and relay. The oe pigtail connected to the harness so the ECM was still in control. Then power for the pump would come from another B+ source. You could wire in a switch to the pump to turn off during starting or @IBMobile has an article on making your own harness that would use the oe fuel pump connection for control. I cant link it o. This tablet so maybe he will pop in and help. I am good enough with wiring to burn your truck down to the frame.

    Welcome to the farm.
  15. Do you know how your lift pump is wired? Sounds like too much pressure like Mike mentioned since it starts fine with the pump disconnected and hot. Do you have a fp gauge?
  16. Any input I could put in would be like speaking to the wind. Mine will shift while sitting still and in neutral. It will shift with engine off also.
  17. I would cover the open connector and tie them up out of the way.
  18. Great outcome abd cheap as it gets. I put some led's in mine too. Best 15 bucks I spent on lighting.
  19. Isspro ev1 if on a budget. Thats what I have. Isspro ev2 if not on a budget. The ev1's are good but fairly basic. The ev2's are a very nice step up.
  20. I do think about the temps. My last VP lived almost it's entire life on this set up and lasted 270k miles and alot idle time on the job.
  21. The 1/4 tank thing would bug me to know end. I would have to fix that.
  22. You did get a deal there my friend.
  23. I guess I dont get the worry of all the fuel returning to the basket except for fuel temp maybe. I have no good way to check mine. Mine has had both returns in the basket for 9+ years. I regularly run my tank down to the low fuel light and below if I know road and fuel stops. I have not noticed any difference in the way the truck runs from a full tank down to one gallon left. Mine does have the in tank fuel basket which is much shorter than the the stock one and the AD is supposed to remove air from the fuel. I also have never seen the pressure do any weird fluctuations when the tank is low. It works just fine in my truck.
