I'm finally putting an aftermarket pump...question about that
Glad you got it in.What kind of pressure gauge do you have?

Hot Run Issue?
As I remember once you have the keyway lined up the shaft should slide right in. the pump and engine mating surfaces should come evenly together. Dont use the bolts to pull the pump up to the engine. I lined the keyway up by eye and then rotated a little until I felt is slip in. Id idnot have much trouble with that part. I just sweated dropping the key. Seemed everything i read about had a big warning for that. Had me nervous as hell.

I dont think I did either that day and did not mean to insinuate you did either. I am pretty sure it hit the button by accident. I did it 2 weeks ago while fixing fuel leaks, luckily the window was cracked open. Stuff happens.

Door Dinger
I locked my self out a couple years a go. When i realized what I had done I look in the window and sitting on the console is my fulll set of keys and my spare was laying beside them. I had just taken it out of my wallet moments before to retrieve something and lexft it there on the console. I ususally try to always lock the truck with my fob and nothing else, but some days are better than others,

OBD III: The Motor Law Realized
That is more than a little disturbing. I have been a little reading recently about a supreme court ruling on the placement of gps on supected lawbreakers with out a warrant and the supreme court ruled it was unconstitutional to do such without a warrant It would seem to me that this would fall under the same catagory, but just a quick look came up with this http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-supreme-courts-gps-ruling-did-not-extend-far-enough/2012/01/24/gIQAYgEQRQ_story.html.

Hard start, hot or cold.
That is what mine was doing. hard start unless pointing down hill, hot or cold. Mine was a return fuel leak. The tee was obviously a problem. I know you said the head was dry at the return line, mine felt the same way. But when I removed it the seal washers were hard just like a flat washer. If it is just weeping you might not feel anything. 30 minutes and a few bucks might put it to rest though. I doesnt take much of leak to drain the fuel. Since fixing mine I have no hard starting any more. Hot or cold, uphill or down hill.

Valve Adjustment HELP!!!
You are going to like the rv's. They are not mind numbing, but very nice. A little gain in the mpg's too.

Archoil AR6200 Combustion Catalysis and Burn Modifier
Enthusiasm and skepticism kind of work hand in hand. Enthusiasm will get the word out to people and the skepticism make people ask questions. I read most of your thread http://www.thedieselgarage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112382 It s is a pretty long read and most of the folks there seem to be getting the results that you have. But I would like to see more info on testing of the product. I would hate to add something to my truck and have it run better for a year or two and find out I now have to rebuild the engine because of some medium term affect it has on it. What you have done is what this forum is all about. New ideas, products and open discusions on them. This has my interest and I am going to investgate it a little more. Like I said before, I plan on keeping this truck for a long time and so far the only additve i have tried that seems to benifit me is 2 stroke for the fuel. So thanks for pointing it out and lets see where it goes.

Archoil AR6200 Combustion Catalysis and Burn Modifier
It is a product that seems to good to be true. I have a truck that I plan to be driving for a long time to come and before I just go dumping something in the fuel that I have no idea what is or what it might do to the engine, I'm skeptical. All I see now is your opinion, some other un named folks opinions and a little info from the co about how great iti is. Need some real world stuff on this.

new turbo

I'm finally putting an aftermarket pump...question about that
I have heard of the problems but have not experienced any with mine as of yet. I installed mine 6 or 7 months ago i think. When I look at the threaded fittings and puch lock connectors like the old style has, they do appear to be mre permanent. I just could not bring my self to cut them off. But if I start having trouble thats exactly what i would do. I am just going to see what happens with the quick connects.

Is it Spring Already
I work mostly in the SE with some work in the NE. I dont ever remember seeing #1 diesel. My fuel has never gelled even in 0* weather. The local area probably had some additives, I just was not aware of them. Did not know much about these things until I started hanging out around here. So much to learn and so little time.

Is it Spring Already
I think I looked that on the map the other day. Its just off of 40 a good bit east of Nashville. I drive by there every time I go home. I agree on the weather. Mild as I have seen for a while and it is raining here today.

oil leak
Did you check the puke bottle? if it is full you will dribble oil.

New truck and don't know about a previous mod
I am not sure how tempermental the CP3 is to fuel pressure, I am a VP man and it is very depedant upon lift pump presure to live along life. I am sure other CP3 folks will chime in on that one though. The tc lock up switch is another thing a 6 sped man cant help with. my clutch is my lock up.

What's better for fuel mileage..... cool fuel? or hot fuel?
not that i dont get any variations, but it would be unusual for me to see more than .5 mpg winter or summer. Not to many temp extremes that las that long in the SE and sometimes in the NE. unless I want to go 80+ mph.
