  1. Aint nothin wrong with 13.5 mpg weighing in at 16.7k.
  2. There are two pumps so and ho. Ho came on the 6 speeds and so came on the 5 speeds and the autos. There is someother after market hot rod pumps but i dont know anything about them. Cummins is right about getting a dialogue with Thorobred going. you are probably going to need their help also.Did you get any fuel thru the lift pump or the injector pump?Where is your FP gauge connected?
  3. I believe if you just read your own post, you have found they best way to save fuel. Your right foot. you got a 35%increase by slowing down 10 mpg.:thumbup2:when towing my 5th wheel I get right at 10mpg. That is running 65 every where the truck will do it and the road will allow it. 50 to 55 on 5 to 8% grades. lugged a little getting over the last part of the I 40 grade going to Asheville NC.last trip I weighed in a 22.7k and stand just under 13' tall.
  4. the banner looks good Tom.
  5. How did you check it for codes? Key trick of scanner. An air leak is what caused my hard starting. Unpugging the pump and it starting is wierd with your pressures where they are. Do you have a test gauge to test against the one in the cab?
  6. Did you unplug the pump and try to start it like you did before? Your pressures appear to be good. What kind of pressure gauge do you have, mechanical or electric? You could help us out by filling out your signature in the user cp so we know more about the your truck.
  7. fuel and ac line disconnect tool. Most all auto parts stores have them in sets for differant size lines.
  8. Isspro FP and Banks Dynafact EGT and boost.
  9. I put the 165 in mine So would be covered for anything i might want to do later. The pressure regulator is nice and it came with the intank pump kit for about $100 more than the 150 as I recall
  10. clogged filters maybe? piece of trash in the the pre screen. I keep thinking mine had the screen it it. anything that could restrict the flow could blow the fuse.
  11. I forgot about the steering stabilizer, I used a BD kit. It cost twice as much as the one Bob just linked on ebay. Looks just like the BD one I bought. Not sure what the differance betwen them are. Alot of people are making them so they have gotten alot cheaper lately.Bob, linky worky.
  12. The ride is a little better than stock, but this truck has always rode fairly hard empty. 2k in the bed make it ride like a Cadilac, well almost. I pretty sure i bought them thru Rock Auto. Got them for about $200. The dampner came from someone else, cant remember who though or how much. It is identical in looks to the shocks on the truck. I believe its part of the 5000 series. I ll just have to see how long they hold up.
  13. Thats pretty interesting. What did that rig cost you?
  14. Have you ever taken a 5600 apart?
  15. The rv275 is a good and economical injector. They really woke my truck + an extra 2 mpg. They are a 40 hp injector. If you are looking for bigger injectors I will defer to those that no more about them. I am very happy with mine and they are easy to install.
  16. I am running Rancho 5000 on all four conrers and the steering dampner. No complaints thus far. Had them for about a year.
  17. I would not think TOB since it happens with the clutch in or out. serpantine belt maybe slipping?
  18. Which ever pump yall get, install a fuel pressure gauge with it. You wont be sorry.
  19. :iagree:100%. I think the best you can do is ask alot of questions. When i bought mine there was not a lot of info on what was done to them and Chip was the only person who was willing to talk to me on a personal level. Of couse at that time i did not have any experience with this forum or any others or the vendors I have since come to be aware of. since I had the money then I chose to buy mine from Blue Chip. Knowing what I know now I might have gone a differant route, who knows. Talk to the vendors, ask alot of questions and make your pick. Then we will all get together in 3 years and see whos lasts the longest.
  20. No problem Bob, dont put yourself, take care of the back first. Mine bugs when I am on my feet to much but all I have to do is sit down for a few minutes and its better. No doctors invloved.
  21. :iagree:Most of the steering problems we have discussed here where a steering box brace is used is to help correct steering wander and not stiffness. It does sound like something else is wrong in the steering, like the pump or the steering box itself could be shot. There is an adustment screw(sector shaft aduster I believe)on top of the steering box. Someone might have tightened to much in order to take the slop out of the steering and it is now to tight and causing the stiffness. You could loosen it some and see what happens. If the steering gets looser but harder to control my guess would be the box is gone.
  22. Yeah, see what it costs. I might get enough for both seats and the door panels. The drivers side panel is worn out to. Just let me know.
  23. There has to be a guide line for a standard reman for the pump builders. I would think that the individual vendor could have it taken further if he wants to. Accordding to Chip when I bought mine he does take it further and the new computer was part of it. I couldnt tell you what else now if I had to. Chip does not build his in house.
  24. Bob, I take the fabric was readily accessable to the upholterer?Dually, Ive been wondering about that picture my self.
