1. As far as I Know a reman is all you can buy. I have not seen a new pump you can buy. At 1k for a reman i cant imagine what a new one would cost.imagine what a new one would cost.
2. I think I am inclined to believe it is a computer issue on the vp. If cooling the vp like you say is allowing you to start and run with a hot engine when it wont without the cooling, the cooling is definately affecting someting in the pump. The circuit board or something else electronic in the pump.
3. Russ, I am always set back by things like this and there is never enough you can say about a tragedy like this. It is so unfortunate. My heart does go out to the family of this child. These kind of things could have happened to alot of us growing up. I just hope this does not turn into a "Pass a law against it". So many knee jerk reactions result in laws that are useless. It was not the "cannon", but a very unfortunate set of circumstances that resulted in a tragic loss.
4. I am in the 8 to 10 EST zone on a Tuesday or Thursday to help out. Hows that work for anyone?
5. I dont know what the prefilter will take away but the gauge should not affect your pressure.
6. I just crossed 250k last friday.
7. I tightened them all pretty darn tight when i put it all back together. When I saw 1, 3, and4 leaking i hit them again. Laid on tem pretty hard. They cant seem to make up their mind right now so I am just going to wtch them for a while.
8. Same here. Everything came out of the box and went right on the truck.
9. I bought all of these parts from aAdvance a few months ago and got a good deal thru them. They had a sale online at 20% off and i was able to get the local Advance to give me the same. Rock Auto has some really good prices, a little cheaper than Advance even with the 20% discount. There is an advantage to being able to return something locally though. Just another option.
10. Might take you up on that. let me think about it for a little while. Really appreciate the offer.
11. I just got to the camp ground and looked under the hood and only 1 was wet. 3 and 4 were dry. Shut it down and no differance. Kinda like musical injectors. I did park on an uphill slope for 3 hours today and it started as soon as I hit the key. That was a beautiful thing.
12. i did not see any when i had the injector lines off. I cleanded bothe ends with a scotch brite. spent quite a while cleaning them.
13. That is pretty cool, only I dont posess a smart phone. I posess a dumb phone and it is still smarter than I am.
14. I did lube all of my orings on the injectors and the new ones I put on the connector tubes. I even installed 2 new tubes and they leaked as bad as the 4 old ones. I have since read in acouple of places about not lubing them.I just looked at them and 1, 3, and 4 are moist but they are not leaking like they were before. 2, 5, and 6 are dry. I think 6 is any way, kinda hard to see. Return teee is still dry. All in all I am much happier today with what i have compared to before. I guess I will just keep an eye on them for a while and see what happens.
15. I installed a set of RV275's about two months ago. follwed Mike's instructions here and the install went well except for some weeping at the head. 3 of them at first and they just progressed to all of them leaking and not weeping. Also my return tee was leaking and I put new orings in it about two weeks after the injectors. In my infinite wisdom i did not even think about the bolt on the back of the head:doh:. Dont know why I just did not. Well it was still leaking and getting worse. So I went home this week end and tore it all apart and re did everything. This time I loosened the injectors and tightened the crossover tubes first and then tightened the injectors down.It is all back together and its time to start it up. I am looking at the engine realizing I now have to loosen some of the injuector lines to get it started.:pray:I loosened 1, 3, and 4 and satrt her up, smooths out and runs great. Let her idle for 5 or 10 minutes and sure enough 1, 3, and 4 weeping some. I tightened them up alittle more and went for a ride. Drove her easy and hard for 8 or 9 miles came back and still had some weeping but less. Afraid to tighten them any more that is tighter then i ever did them before, but it helped. Also took the return line bolt out of the head and it appeared the washer on it were just flat washers. Put on new sealing washers and reinstalled the returns. return line is leak free. I looked athe old washers alot closer and could finally tell they were sealing washer, but evedently the head had cooked them hard.Any way I had to get back to Tennessee. Stopped once for fuel after 200 miles, opened the hood 1 is dry 3 is barely moist and 4 is weeping slightly. Drove the next 220 miles to the campground, opened the hood and all six are dry. Shut the engine off and looked a gain and 4 started leaking ever so slightly. Well I guess i will just have to keep an eye on them. Will be doing mostly in town stuff the next couple of weeks and maybe they will stop altogether. If anyone else has had this problem and found a sure cure I would love to hear about it. I am still pretty happy for now, I am almost 100% leak free.
16. I have got the same issue. I swapped the seat cushions so i could have the good one on my side. They will swap but you can see it is not an exact fit. Plus they used a cheaper material on the side that now faces out and I dont think it will hold up for very long. I am going to try an upholsterer, theysould be able to repair the foam and recover them. Have not got a clue as to what it would cost.
17. Looks like PVC and Fernco couplings. Standard hardwhare stuff.
18. Well heathw, I came here about a year and a half ago with handful of gimmie and a mothful of much obliged. All of these folks here came to my assistance. I am just glad to help others as I have been helped. So you are most welcome and let us know how it goes for you.
19. I dont think the first worked right so here they are. The intank fuel basket.
20. I have the one with rods and springs. You can see the lift pump in the basket.I also got a quick look at the lift pump connection to the AD. It appears the wires coming from the AD are both tan on mine. The wires coming from the ECM appered to be yellow w/white tracer and blackI hope this will help you out.
21. My truck had the intank pump retrofit from dodge and i got a kit from AD to remove it and install the fuel pick up in the basket. the pick up is 2 piece and requires 2 clamps. I put them on the pickup tube, installed the said tube and forgot to move them into the proper place. It dawned on me when i started hookin up the fuel lines. I had taken a few pictures and when I reviewed them, sure enough, I never slipped them in to place. Are you going with a draw straw?
22. Had one but the points kept expiring on me. I am not that loyal to any one parts place.
23. The 1 1/8 I have is a little to big. Hope it is not metric.
24. I spent 6 ot 8 hours on mine start to finish. But i had to drop the tank twice:doh:. Just make sure you are really done in the tank before you install the tank.
25. That didnt last long. Seems to be another whacky winter.
