  1. Compromise Can tune tranny and programmer to light turbo where its wanted
  2. Digging more into this 3rd gen turbo issue it appears the screw up is on my end. I'm in touch with smedding through text now and will be sending this 3rd gen turbo back for the proper 2nd gen turbo. Smedding is handling my screw up well and gave several options they were also willing to send parts to make the 3rd gen turbo bolt on but the short waste gate actuator puts a cabosh on that. Looks like itl be a week to get this one back and another week to get the right one back to me. Grrr. Ohhhhwell my screw up. Heres a finished pic of ex manifold. I reused turbo gasket and oil outlet. No leaks. I didnt want to use gaskets I bought for the new turbo.
  3. I bought a used smarty for $200 the SO3 programmer. Its definitely not the best programer out there but really did livin up the truck and wake the injectors up even more. I'm running the smarty on its max power setting but turned down alittle in fine revo settings. my truck smokes but is getting 17-19mpg and weighs 10k with all my work stuff in it. I haven't seemed to be able to break 19mpg yet. The 100hp injectors were the best mod for power and fuel mileage even without the programmer or boost fooler. I'd be Leary of buying a programmer off ebay for fear its vin locked unless it's a quad or something like that that cant be vin locked I bought my smarty local and took it for spin before handing the cash over
  4. I'm broke right now but may try them soonish. I was looking at the led bulbs to but would be afraid the ice over running in the snow. I'll for sure report when I do. Get them they appear to be plug n play but will need a relay added to run all four when on bright. Cost would be up about 100 for a set of 4 decent bulbs
  5. I put tractor transmission fluid in everything. That's what's in my entire truck well not the motor or brakes. Not sure what's in the power steering It's made for heavy duty wet clutches. Though it may not work in dana at that doesn't have fluid pressure. Would be worth a try you could tell right away with truck jacked up. If both tires go forward when you turn one it's working or would at least appear to be with no load. I always wanted to convert to hubs and run full Detroit locker in the front and leave the rear 80 open. Great street manners and option to lock one or both front hubs as needed.
  6. Actually no boost fooler you will notice an improvement, at least I did. I ran no boost fooler and 7x009 injectors for a few years. Towed better gets up and goes better. Smokes more. Tows better. I later did boost fooler and ohhh man boost jumped to 30psi from 20. Also egt dropped some. Toss them in. Go from there
  7. Getn her shoes turned and check front spacers. Tires are wearing good and even about 6k passed due on rotating
  8. This doesnt look bad. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F191018519512
  9. I think he recomends the billet. The other sfi stuffs goood to I think its designed to be a fuse I was curious about the sfi 29 so I looked it up. It basically means it passed an hour spin at 12500-13500 rpm without failure. I do not know if the billet plates have been tested. More research needed very interesting
  10. Filter fixed it. At least at and idle On freeway cruising at 19+ now
  11. That's all I saw till today. Bought a fuel filter. Havent done it in a year or more. I think all decent pumps will only drop a couple psi
  12. I do think a sweep would be nice for better ps axcess. My pressure dropped. This cruising at 1850is. Before today it doesn't drop this low even at close to wot pulling a grade. Shut stood on it pass took it down to 11
  13. If I had a limited slip. I think I'd be tempted to fill it full of at4 or tractor transmission fluid. Just to see how it feels
  14. I thought mine was Vulcan but its been so long I dont remember. I'm sure the sweep is worth a few ponies over the 90
  15. Are you in mtn home?
  16. I guess I'm going to do this in two parts. Seeming to be a very straight forward easy manifold swap. I've got studs to replace all manifold bolts and turned exhaust nuts flanges down to clear bd manifold. Didnt know if leaving the turbo in place would all clearance. Theres plenty to get out all manifold bolts. Well see if egt or anything change. I kinda doubt it. Might be more noise under the hood. Everything is the same

Yup. 89 T800 my money making baby We added a case 590 this summer. The 580 is behind the 6.7. I cant convince my old man its silly towing that much with a damn pickup specially when we have a real truck. 590 is 19k and change. 580 is 14k and change. I'm hoping to swing a 30k excavator in a couple years . Weve done good this year and should have the 590 payed off in a couple years. The old 365 cummins just keeps chugging along 1clutch and one injector in the 15 years. Got it a few months befor I got my pickup.
  18. I'll agree that the steering isnt the best design. But for 244 k its survived. It's just now time to do maintenance. I'm not huge on the steering brace. It may or may not help but it definitely will not keep the frame from flexing. Might just be money and no benefit. Some say they work amazing. But so is mine with no brace at 312k. Keep in mind the front of truck and engine then steering box on the middle. Whatever flex is there is already being faught in front and behind the box. New parts most likely wont take the truck to 488k because they're junk these days but they will go along time. Youl probly suck all the oil off the air filter though. Lol. Joking
  19. Why white haze and from engine compartment? I wonder if the haze from compartment is fuel steaming off hot engine Out the tail pipe I dunno. Could be scarey there If they are closer to 150 wouldn't there be more black smoke than white haze. Check at night with truck running with a flashlight see if any of your fuel tubes are spraying fuel. The one under the firewall might be.
  20. Mine took a few ummphs to get seal with no leaks. That's a snubber going to my mechanical fuel gauge in the cab Probly one of the only things on this truck that doesn't leak
  21. I red lock tightened mine too after cleaning bolts and threads in crack Are you using a billet flexplate ?
  22. Nice. One of these days soonish I'll bolt on a 62
  23. Ok. I'll call them. Getting no response by email I wanted a 4" down pipe any ways so figured I was only out the cost of your pipe to turbo thanks again your being aton more help than smedding smedding was helpful on the phone. Though I'm having a heck of a time emailing them photos of the turbo I recieved will be doing an exchange. I'll stay with the 62 65 14
