  1. Pulling up an old thread. I run a 5" 30" fte alone and have the quitest coolest sounding truck I've ever heard. 5" pipe from 4" down pipe back. Fte placed as far forward as I could get it.
  2. I just noticed on sw9 3 3 truck was in light just right and was hazing very noticeably at idle. So I shut it down dropped to sw7 same settings and haze all but went away. This is the first time I've actually seen an instant change in a setting. The feel while driving between 9 and 7 is damn near the same. It's nice to change a setting and actually see it change. Not just try and notice a seat of the pants feel. Wondering if it's just difference in foot on the throttle
  3. Tell her itl pull out the of hole like a freight train. Mine with smarty on sw9 with 100hp injectors tends to make me twitch when a fast care pulls up to me at the light. It does make Gobs of power but draws way to much attention if if I stand on it from a stop. Plus Ill lose anyways and get a ticket as the fast car pulls away. I really have been amazed how quick it is and how hard it pulls me back into the seat. I really wouldn't be afraid to recommend someone get a cheap used s03 smarty if one came up for sell. For 200 bucks i really do like mine exspecly for the low end stump pulling power.
  4. I just "fixed" a 2001 that was hunting very badly. What I did that I expected to do nothing was slack the TV cable a fuzz. It was hunting worse than I've ever seen. Slacked it just enough to change were it was. I then drove it. Locked 3rd and 4th with no hunting. They guy was amazed and so was I. He said it's like a new truck. Issue may come back, hopefully not. It's free and easy to try. Mine isnt horrible but does do it at about 40. Mine will hold 3rd with no throttle but does unlock 4th with no throttle I'm board waiting on a crane to fly my excavator into st Luke's basement
  5. I've done 3 trucks now had all three running while drilling and tapping. No problems
  6. No updates. Turbo is heading back to smedding. Still sticking to 62 65 14
  7. Slowing there is still 90psi more enough to hold under low power. Factor psi is only 50is but I'm not sure pressure would drop that much to idle psi with clutch locked and weight. I've not had pressure gauge on for more than around the block testing. Would be cool to keep gauge on to see what it's doing locked with a load pushing it down a grade
  8. I'm sure they work better th han my stock set up
  9. The higher rated pump may last longer then the 95 and 100 pumps
  10. Lol Passing I can step out in the hammer lane walk way passed 85 and coast around cars. That's why I thought it didn't work
  11. So low is always burning 2 eliments?
  12. I dunno I think it needs relays to light all elimants on bright. Or my research is off
  13. Doing alittle reading sport has a low beam 9007 9004 high The link I posted comes with a main beam. 9007. They might be junk bulbs swap my 9004s in and be plug n play
  14. It's set at 85. Was going to set cruise at 90 pedal is completely dead. It will accelerate passed 85 then pedal dies I do have my seatbelt on.
  15. My first truck was Chevy with a sm465 4 speed. Transmission didnt look all that big. So I unbolted it some how got it to clear and realized just how heavy it was ounce it was on my chest. The thi g was a monster. I've never pulled a pickup tranny with out some kind of jack since then..
  16. Just something I read you know how stuff is that you read on this damn interweb
  17. Nice. That's great news. My truck did the same thing it actually started not starting but would start if the key was cycled then just quit starting all together. At the time it quit starting I had a work truck so I just quit driving it for a couple weeks and researched starters and ended up buying Larry Bs rebuild kit for 60 bucks. That was probly 8 years ago.
  18. Hey I tried I'm willing and able with a carbide burr
  19. Haha well see. May just a plate a instructions on a napkin
  20. What's the expected release date on your dynamic kit.
  21. You need to drill holes and mod a few passages installing the plate and springs without modifying lock up and shifts I dont think will gain much. If your tranny is healthy and shifting well you could just do springs and bump pressure without a full kit and probly increase holding power. Heck throw some tractor transmission fluid in it to. Will tighten up shifts and increase holding on its own
  22. I always get the impression guys think the switch makes it lock harder and be some kind of cure all. I'd like to buy the transgo kit just above the tfod just to get the directions.
  23. Why do you want a lock up switch? I did the lock up switch cause all the cool guys were doing it. What I found is it was cool to play with but didnt benifit me Youl here guys say thevtranny runs cooler with switch locked in 3rd pulling grades. I found locked is locked wether computer locked it or I switched it locked. My tranny locks at like 35 so I'm always locked pulling a grade in 3rd. I try not to pull slower than that because 2nd doesn't lock unless the passage in valve body is blocked. So yes a switch would benifit me when I'm in 2nd towing heavier than I should be otherwise it's just a switch I never use. I actually unhooked it when my girlfriend drove the truck alot. I told her never ever flip this switch ever. Just something to think about
  24. Probly snowed in the shop
