Cold fluid 47re 2nd gear starts
I thought I read that to the bor was better. But when I research it I find no info backing up or disproving one is better than the other. This is how most topics I research go mumble jumble. The gm is considered the heavy duty but only offerd for 2000 up not sure what if any difference there is since I currently have a borge plugged in mine I do know that the 4l8e transmission works very well as I have about 6 years experience driving mine and servicing a fleet of trucks with them. Headed to work today I got a 3rd gear start. Moving lever to manual 1 forced it to second. I'm skeptical the gm senor and transducer fixes my issue but then I'll at least know they're out of the equation.

Itw did have dnj manifold. Guy was impressed I knew the 2000 up 47re upgrade had the GM gov sensor and not standerd borg upgrade. I did buy it but along with a trancducer. I asked about parts they stock and was impressed by the list of billett upgrades and sun coast parts they had. Told them this is first part I've bought locally to upgrade anything on my truck. I really was impressed you literally cznt buy anything locally Anyway I hope it fixes my inter mitten problem. Either way it's an upgrade I've considered doing before.

Drafting wasnt enough
30mile draft behind a truck. Fail Bucking a heavy wind coming out of salt lake headed to boise. Made the bad decision to cross the 50-60mile stretch with no fuel stations. Got in behind a semi letting it pull and buck the wind for me. Instant mpg drafting in the 40s bucking my own trail it was in the high teens. Sucked her dry watching fuel pressure gauge go to zero pulling a small grade semi leaving me. Managed to pull the hill topping she levels psi comes back coasting down hill shes back to life psi reading 20 sweat rolling off my forehead. I'm thinking I got this I've never run you out of fuel yet. 6 miles to go instant numbers in the 30s coming off the hill still in the head wind. She stutters im thinking just air in it from the climb with fuel at back of tank nope she almost dies I look at christine we are done she says how? I'm like it's done not enough fuel weve sucked the tank dry. I shut the key off same time she falls in her face and roll off the side of the rd. Ended up getting a ride from a lady to get fuel. I had a two gallons can and bought a 5gallon can I topped of the lady's fuel tank and gave her 40 bucks all I had on me. Thanked her greatly. Penciled out my numbers after getting running and I only got 17 out of that tank. Running 20-30psi bucking the wind out of salt lake. Told christine that was the first time I've ever ran out of fuel. Fun fun times

Stuck open injector?
Maybe we all need a good sense of touch, the girl friend or truck. I used a mirror to see tdc mark

Cold fluid 47re 2nd gear starts
Did some calling around looking for the upgraded manifold and sensors in the boise area. It appears idaho transmission warehouse might have the ats version and priced right inline with online prices. If it's what I'm looking for I'll grab it. Want to fix this 2nd gear starts before I do turbo and possibly push alittle more power through it.

What causes Low Line Pressures on a 47re trans? Can we make a list?
Stock valve body.

Borg Warner sxe300 62 65 14 turbo :)
Planned on doing turbo tonight but oil line fitting is sloppy in the block that's bolted to the turbo. It does snug up against the oring well by hand and not rock but I'm worried it will blow off going down the rd. Wonderd if its sloppy on purpose for expansion since its brash on mild steel threads? I appeared to have everything now to install the 3rd gen turbo. Have to weld the he351 flange on the down pipe and cut it in my exhaust system to length. Will be a fun project. Maybe for another day. I guess the hy35 will turn a few more times. Turbo is clocked in 3rd gen orientation in the picture

Air In Fuel Effects?
Only ever ran a factor filter but do run a fuel system with 150 pump and all big line to injection pump. It's done well for 12is years now and all on the same injection pump. I run 20psi at idle and rarely ever drop below 18 maybe 16 loaded standing on it pulling a grade loaded. Loaded on the freeway running 80 it's still about 18 could be towing 8k or 16k doesnt matter on thr flats its 18psi Yes I run 80 loaded and 70 empty;) no sence in running for mpg numbers when towing, towing I like the revs 1800-2000 but keep it under 2200. Unless I'm pulling grades then I'll see 2200 in 3rd to try to manage temps. I would not run a pump at only 5psi ever it's at zero or well below when pulling and injection pumps pulling 90% of the fuel doing all the work

Do you have low line pressure?

Cold fluid 47re 2nd gear starts
Today it never did it. I may order the upgraded one with housing anyways. Its probly got 10-15k on fluid anyways so it's about time to drop the pan. I cant decide if the GM sensor is better but I do like the 4l6e and 8e trannies so maybe it's an upgrade

You need your girlfriends makeup mirror

Cold fluid 47re 2nd gear starts
Yes it may be. I didnt expect trouble codes. Looking into upgrades. It currently has the borg sensor its about 3years old Is this a worth while 200 bucks. I run about 150 psi

Anyone use any oil drain valves in place of the drain plug
I to like the equipment drains with hose but also dont mind just pulling a plug out of a oil and tranny pann

Big line kit
It's very nice having a ready to go set of parts to bolt on. Cost vs time it's often worth while to have someone like eric gather parts

Stuck open injector?
You could fire it up and crack injectors itl run rougher each time you crack a line. You may find one that doesn't make it run rough when you crack the line. That way you can pinpoint wich injector it is. If it's an injector ? Take it to shop that does injector work and have it checked out. This is the same as pulling a spark plug cable off the plug to figure out wich cylinder is missing on a gas motor. The one already missing wont cause any miss when you pull the plug cable off the spark plug.

Cold fluid 47re 2nd gear starts
It will sometimes force a manual 1 shift with a a delay after moving it into manual 1 Then shut truck off restart and itl shift normally downshifting slowing to lights and up shift from first with selector in drive. Its wheeeerd Had a few minutes so pulled codes reading off odometer. P0622 field circuit P1763 Gov pressure sensor These two could be relate I think I dunno. Also have a 1765 maybe caused by smarty and boost fooler Hmmm Further reading I've found 1765 is the 12v transmission relay circuit

Three cylinder high idle
Hmmm I dunno I like running at 190 in the summer

Cold fluid 47re 2nd gear starts
I haven't tried putting it in neautral then to manual first to see if that brings it down to first gear. I dont have time to work on it. Building a addition on cabin and our work truck needed attention

Three cylinder high idle
180. I've been blocking the radiator for 15 years and will continue. Seen no negative effects. I drove in -20 one time truck running a fuzz over 140 this was consistent temp for 100 miles. Windshield icing over inside and out. Was running a heater in the truck and not running any heat of own. This is when I started blocking radiator. Night day warmer gas station lady looks at me with questioning look ad I beg for a big cardboard box.

Cold fluid 47re 2nd gear starts
I haven't tried neutral then to manual first. Drive to manual 1 doesnt for a it down. I noticed 2-3 shift is quicker and firmer when it starts in 2nd. Also noticed theres no rym or reason. Truck bone cold this morning first light it downshifts to first 2nd light it doesnt . I'm running 100% dex3 I might dump it for +4 see if it goes away then. I've got myself talked out of thinking its sensor related but like Mike said i need to check for codes. I just keep driving around it.. Thanks guys for the help.

2007 dual mass to single mass flywheel
All buttoned up. Clutch is smooth like stock because it is ;) Dual to single was a success. Though I'll have to fiddle with length of rod on the slave. It's not quite letting go. For now shes back to grunting a 14k machine around.

PCM/Trans issue
Why not just put a jumper in where relay goes?

Three cylinder high idle
In the cold temps I put a cardboard in front of the radiator that blocks all air. I'm running it folded in half right now. When it drops to negative temps it will rarely warm to above 165. I'm curious to hear 3cyld high idle if it ever does it.
