I just fixed the fuel leak on back of head. It’s not to hard. Just rove all wiring that is in the way and it is quite easy

Wowed that it would start knocking louder. I run the mpg cooler full time and that should retard the timing right? What else would cause that timing knock?

Not sure if I ever concluded the issue in this thread or not. The track bar axle end was slightly loose and moving about 1/8 of N inch so tightened that up and it’s better. The rest of the play is in the steering gear.

Can low popping injectors also make the engine clatter/knock more? Obviously these trucks are loud as is but I’m sure mine just got way louder as far as timing/fuel knock.

WhT are common symptoms of thermostat failure? This morning I shut the truck down without paying attention to the coolant temp and started it right back up and it’s readimf around 145 155 degrees. Usually it’s right at 180 after I’ve driven it for 25 miles like I just did.

You need to build a boost cap that mounts on the turbo and squirt all piping with soapy water. Any leaks will bubble up immediately. Dang we were typing at the same time!

No I plan to speak with hem tomorrow. I would like to get a Adrenaline eventually when they come out with they’re monitor. I’m also contemplating 90s with higher pop as they can be a smokeless stock without lag if popped right. I could handle the egts until a tuner shows up I think.

Dam I’m not impressed that these injectors have issues with only 10k on them. I can’t decide what I should do. Funds are tight and cheapest option is repop my stock injectors for 175$ and ideally a set of brand new 75hp vco for 350$.

So i have an intermittent miss/lope at idle hot or cold that im trying to figure if its injector or associated with the fuel leak at the back of the head that i have.

Can a fuel return t leak cuase symptoms that would indicate low popping injectors?

It is a list of 24 valve owners In the area that might be able to help. They are all members of the forum as well.

Good morning folks. Hope y’all had a great Christmas! Amazing how another year has slipped by. Does anyone here have husky liner floor mats? I have tried to find pics of them inside a second gen but can’t and i would like to see how they fit and hear some reviews.

Welcome to the forum! A 1998 truck will have a crankshaft position sensor and not a camshaft position sensor. The 01-02 trucks had the cam sensors. Make sure you are actually getting a crank sensor for the correct year. It appears that possibly the crank sensor failed immediately have you tried another one yet? Also I suggest completely disconnecting the edge tuner from the truck for diagnostics. Hope this helps somehow and I’m sure someone else will chime in and help!

Does anyone know how many bar the injectors drop when they settle in?

If that is fine could it be the head/fog light switch in the cab?

I replaced the fog lamp fuse and they’re still not staying on.

I’d like my egts to be below 550 is that possible with 90s popped high?
