Bought a Steering Shaft, Borgeson
Hi Dripley, Thanks my friend, I had 3 strikes yesterday, couldn't fix the riding mower, my Benz 300D has me scratchin my head, & now my truck is not drivable. Now I need to borrow a vehicle to drive to Louisville, Ky. Instead of fixin all my crap I should had been practicing for a recording date. Sometimes a little bit of knowledge is a terrible thing as well, or in my case just enough to get dug in too deep! So my wife has no mower cut cut grass with when I'm gone & it's growing fast! (yada yada yada!) Sorry had to vent my frustration, Dave

Overdrive hunt is where the trans is bouncing in & out of overdrive. The tack drops 100-200 RPM's. - - - Updated - - - I did a Geno's rebuild kit a few years back. Last Fall when the batteries died I but in another Alt. just to be sure. So the batt ground on the pass side it is, hope that does it! Dave

Someone needs to straighten these people out
TCW3 is for 2-stroke boat or water cooled craft. You can find the stuff at Canadian Tire. Just look in the boat department. Dave Marty Feldman was cool, He was in Monty Python Flicks! Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life!

Bought a Steering Shaft, Borgeson
Boy this ended up being a PITA. Finally got the original SS out & it's perfectly fine, no play in the joints at all. So my replacement part is a few inches short. So for $270 plus change it's going back Is there a Different part for 4x4 or manual? I will have to make a phone call in the morning. So now I'm trying to put the original part back in & can't find any info on how to do it. A friend says to take the 3 bolts out on the column & this should give enough room to make it slide on, But I think I may have F'd up the splines on the bottom gear end..................... Seems like I can't fix anything anymore, Dave

Frantz Filter Systems
If there is any particles from start-up the Frantz will capture it. According to the Frantz site it's supposed to filter down to 1/10 of a micron. Dave I have one to put on my Benz just so I can extend my oil changes, 8 qts of Rotella every 5K gets expensive too! - - - Updated - - - It's sorta like the first start-up after an oil change in the Benz, it's clean but it's already black!

Clean grounds!
Hi all,a while back I did the overdrive hunt fix & it's been doing fine for the most part. I had the trans gone through by the old-time trans specialist & it's fine but if I let it set for a few days or so I get the hunt back until it's hot. So I'm thinking I need to clean up my grounds.Anyone dune the job & have a list, pix would be even better!:thumb1:Thanks,Dave
