  1. Check out the link I posted! --- Update to the previous post... Yep, agreed! 500 bucks is a lil on the light side!
  2. RJC,I know what you mean about simplicity of a CTD, esp a 12 or early 24V. I do as well wished I bought one years ago. Mine almost gets the mileage my 4cyl 89 DaKota 5sp used to get. Is the CTD a workhourse. I really enjoy mine.Keep your truck clean, almost all the gen 2's are rust buckets up here in NE Ohio. Wheel wells, doors, rocker panels, fenders.I will re-oil mine before winter. Got my sprayer from harbor freight, just an air gun w a draw tube. I use the oil I drain out of my truck. Make sure it's at least room temp & turn up the pressure on your air compressor.Dave
  3. What the fark did you say? How much of an improvement is the HX40 over a 35? Anything need to be changed to drop one of those in? Does a cw have the VGT? How do you check a used ARP? Overall lenth variation? Sorry for the questions, just interested to know, Dave
  4. Just for your own benefit, get a metal straight edge & check the block as well. You should be fine after this one. I know if mine ever goes, I will get the head ckecked just so I wouldn't have to do it again. Thanks for the lesson here! Good Luck, Dave:thumb1:
  5. Hi Blue, Yep, got mine too. Some other limitations on it 98-01 (1) after the truck was driven 100K (2) more then 5 years after the truck was originally purchased & before the truck was driven 250K. Are the highlights of it. Claim form by Oct. 28, 2012 www.cumminspickupblocksettlement.com Dave Don't think I have one will have to look again!
  6. 45? I did not know that. I agree w everyone concerning straigtness of the head. Is that where is always leaks? Sorry 1Dum, that would suck!:spend:Not to mention your time & the effort it takes! Sounds like my luck at times around here too! Can you re-use the new head studs on the rebuild? They are not supposed to stretch at all! Is this your DD. Sorry DUDE, Dave
  7. It's an oil. The wax I use says it can withstand acid rain so a lil K1 or D2 w 2-3 gal of wash soap & water? Aren't most wax products petroleum based? It's really to help fight the salt & road chemicals, if that doesn't take off wax! Just passing on old timer info is all. As far as new products go, I'm having nice results w the new wax a you dry products out on the market. Everyone I've tried works good. I still like to hand wax too, but these new products help enhance the shine. Dave
  8. Thanks Drip! Bad thing, it was a Good Sam strapon! I'm gunna stay out of the woods for sure now! Dave:lol:
  9. Hey Mr. FAK-tual, I would love your set up that is AWESOME! Is the cw a non VGT? Will you have to run an offset on the .05-6 turbo? What head studs are you thinking of running? Just pulling 1 by 1 or replacing the head gasket too? Sorry for all the questions, just want to see what you have rolling around in your head. Jusk keep it FAKtual, (all the FAK's Rollin out) Dave
  10. My truck is a base model w 'em. I need to start looking around at some of the salvage yards for the longer towing mirrors. My wife was driving last Sat & lost my, her...................don't know how to write this.............strapon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:evilgrin:Dave:)
  11. John, What do you think your doing for Hp & Tq now? Where did you end up findin' the deal? SaWeet! Dave
  12. Nice, thanks for the parts hunt secrets! --- Update to the previous post... Cool, Thanks! --- Update to the previous post... Man Jake, you are one for details, I only wished you lived closer in like Pitts Pa. Instead oif Pittsburg, Ca!

  14. That was what I ment to write.
  15. I'd be very happy w a new exhaust!:)Now are you not considered a stock truck now?
  16. I'm in total agreement w/ you Drip! I'm even thinking last TDC I'll need to buy, I'm driving this one till my a$$ is ashes! This is a pretty active 24 genII section of M73M's site, w very credible info! For me, keep the rust away, I'm OK! Thanks guys, Dave
  17. Nice job on everything JAG1!:thumb1:Dave
  18. Michael what do you think, too much pressure on the IP diaphram? Would he need a cut off sw?
  19. I guess you'll make in impression where ever you go! Guys used to add a few oz of K1 to there soap & water of their older DD to boost the shine & to get into the cracks & such to help protect from the winter salt. Did you guys check out the record snow, NH, 31+ inches. Too late for them to undercoat the DD! Save
  20. Thanks Jake for your ! So where did your purchase all of your parts? Like 6.7 manifold, used? Also the351 turbo? I was interested in finding out the details you provided. Thanks again, Dave
  21. Your CTD isn't even broke in yet! Go for an alignment, a good front end guy would tell you if you needed anything updated, they usually won't even bother to do the job if parts are worn. Start there first! Good luck, Dave --- Update to the previous post...
