How many miles on your CTD? --- Update to the previous post... Good advice pepsi! Do you do a compression check before you tore it done by chance? It would be nice to have a comparison. If not do that first, you don't want to do that again if you don't have too. I would think if you checked everything as you were working it's not a head gasket issue. Esp if you are not seeing bubbles, no fluid loss etc. My motto, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Dave

On a Mercedes page they told me to run from the Wally World Brand, slowest crank speed & get one made by Varta I think. All new to me, they told me to get a Super Start from O'Reilly's. I do have a 24FN from Wally World that goes between my wife's Passport & Prelude Winter/Summer & it seems to be doing fine. She drives like 40 min to work so not much short trip stuff for her. I do the Battery Tender thing when battery's sit like for my ATV's, Jet Ski's, Lawn Tractor, etc. I'm sure that has helped, when the green light comes on I just leave it for a week or so till put it on the next batt. The Tender is supposed to help w whatever eats the lead inside the batt. I have an Interstate for my Kubota & I bet I have 10 yrs on that. Mike, you are the Bomb Tho! Dave

I have none of the mods you guys/girls have & it still loves to work. I took my truck camper off this week, I finally got my truck back. We mostly go about 60MPH w the camper & pulling the horse trailer, that seems to be the sweet spot.. Haven't checked the MPG's in a while because it seems that I never have enough money to fill er back up! CTD, Dave

How are they working out for you? Why did you need a bracket? Do you have a pic? How much different are they from OEM? I'm going to need some tow mirrors before next camping season. My slide in truck camper is like trying to see around an elephant.

My tail pipe behind the stock muffler cracked off. I just ran it that way until I got my Lincoln Mig welder. I just keep re-welding it.The sound DB level was almost the same w or w/o the tailpipe!I was hoping to get another exhaust but I trailerd home an 84 Mercedes 300D (turbo diesel):hyper:Fl car, so my money is going to get this on the road! Mostly just change the fluids & filters & a few odds & ends.Dave

For rust I plan on keeping her oiled. The one I found has been covered in a garage for 7 yrs.. IP's just like the VP44! Nothing new there. As far as Tanks, Couches, & Ponies, these are a few of my favorite things. Yep 5 in a row, makes it go. This came out of the blue, so I'm thinking I may jump on the opportunity. I sorta have the wife's blessing as long as I don't bring home a project. I need to be able to drive it. As longs as it's runnin fine, It can make all the noise it wants. When my wife drive my truck, I can hear my truck rattlin comin down the road .2. The sound of power, it's just a loud setup.
