  1. It's already in mine as well. I'll take the team of Dodges. What's the story on the 76 behind it? That got a Cummins in it also? Dave
  2. That's the area I thought, thanks. Yep, MIA!
  3. I have heated mirrors so that's what I would need correct?
  4. Wow thanks guys, just the info I was going for. I will study the prices. So the $228.oo set seems to be the least expensive. Are they just plug & play?:thumb1:Dave:thumbup2:
  5. I had can't seem to find my cord, where are they located?:sick:Sorry for the question, thanks!
  6. Hi all,I need some advice on some factory style extended mirrors. I put a truck camper on her & a larger mirror would help make things a bit easier. If I went salvage yard hunting would I be able to find a good used set? Are there many trucks that had them. Seems like most the 2nd gens running around here have the small stock ones. What should I look out for? Easy install? Any aftermarket ones to stay away for or that you would recommend? Thanks,Dave
  7. Yep, in agreement there. In the new trucks, the auto is now rated higher if I read the stats correctly.I don't think I have enough toys to overload my truck. The most weight I get on it would be 150 of the small square hay bales w a 16 ft trailer.Dave
  8. Thanks. Also during the vp44 period the auto setups were available w less HP. Was that because the auto lost it or was it to protect the 47RE?Tanks again,DaveBTW, I would have rather had a 5 or 6sp, but the manual trucks I was considering were at least 5 grand more.
  9. I wonder how a stock auto would do in this comparison?
  10. The parts stores said it was a Cummins part. I did put a WTB on CF like JohnFak suggested. I'm still looking, may try rad shop as well, Dave
  11. Thanks John, I checked out both links & posted in both, much appreciated, Dave:thumbup2:
  12. Hi John, heat exchanger on the pass side on the block. I called the local Cummins dealer, he had me sit down before he gave me the $3,000 price for a new one. Can I get a used one & where? Thanks, Dave - - - Updated - - - I would need a how too in the R&R on this one. I don't know anything on these units! Thanks again, Dave
  13. Hi all, thought my 5/8 hoses were leaking before my transmission cooler but it appears to be my cooler instead. What are my options as far as what is available? How difficult is it to change out? Can I bypass it for right now? It's hay season & I need my truck. Thanks,Dave
  14. Mine is is stuck closed. I think Mike did the same on his. HX, HY is really no difference than I take it?
  15. I don't know, so what is the difference between a HX & an HY?
  16. Well, I finally got her on the road March 15. The Mrs didn't want for me to bring home a project, but saw what clean shape it was in, she was excited for me. She even helped w allocating extra money so I could finally get it to DD status!:pray:Still workin out the bugs & learning about the vacuum system, it's all getting better as I drive it.:hyper:Still tinkering,Dave
  17. Wet clutch, & most young people drive em pretty hard, is all I can think of. I run Rotella in all my quads too!
  18. So My SGII is out of my gasser & is now going to be full time in my truck, how do I set it for diesel?Thanks,Dave:thumb1:
  19. I've been doing the nickle & dime thing here. Just keep sliding under & putting the mig to it. As long as I have the out pipe on my stock muffler. May do the muffler delete when the time comes, the rest of the system if fine I just got an 84 Mercedes 300D (5cyl turbo diesel) on the road last week. She's my new DD.It was an off & on Winter project, so my money was going there. Dave
  20. Excellent, just what I needed! Thanks, Dave
  21. Still making it w mine too, 193K. Not good cold, but not getting any worse. What should I replace it with when the time comes? Dave --- Update to the previous post... Thanks for that tidbit. Mine must be an original than, wow, 14yrs old too!
