  1. Our gov had a ticking off from WHO last week, they said we weren't taking it serious enough as Boris was just going to let everyone get it to get immune. Boy what a change this week, over 70's quarantined for 4 months from maybe next week. £1k fine for not isolating and maybe prison, Major manufacturers pressed into making ventilators. 10000 army on standby, hotels turning into hospitals ...... blah blah
  2. I just fitted a mechanical lift pump for one reason.... I'm in the UK and I can fix a mechanical LP myself just by carrying a spare belt and a replacement front shaft seal, replacement electric LP would take nearer 10 days to get to me from USA.... no use if broke down on the side of the road, also removes another electric item as same goes for ECM, in fact call that 20 days before I get mine back if it was toasted and I posted to USA for repair, this has given me a little more peace of mind. I also fitted a quad at the same time, my truck always ran ok but never felt right, can't really explain why just felt ragged, not smooth... just rough but not running rough if that makes any sense, mines an auto too and it never felt happy at any of our legal speeds, 3rd lockup didn't work well with our 30mph lower limit and 4 lockup didn't work well at our 60 and 70 mph limits, towing was even worse. I put a towing tune on it and towed my 5th on LVL 3 out of 14 I think, wow what a difference, it runs better, pulls better, lockup is better as it holds in LU much longer, I am aware I need to be careful or the trans will be done for, I run LVL 4 or 5 not towing and the truck is a pleasure to drive, mostly it will go down to 25 mph ish in 3rd LU with NO smoke at all, egts are just around 900 to 950 towing, I am babying it due to the trans but if you can stretch to a quad I'd say do it, must be really good if trans is up to it
  3. I have Toyo open country 305/70/16. I find them just right size wise. 3rd lockup happens around 25 to 28 mph which is perfect for the UK 30mph lower limit. Just towed our 5th which is around 8k and gearing was just right. EGT never got over 900 mostly 600 to 800 on lvl 4 of quad tow tune, trucks sits just nice around 60 to 70 which is our highway limit
  4. Thats what it needs. I'll be looking for a very small cord switch when I get back. Suns out.. no rain, overlooking a lake drinking a beer. Off to the south coast tomorrow
  5. Main switch does one in the door area. Fan in toilet is for basketball players only I'm just messin.... this is the dogs danglies ...well happy
  6. Well arrived at the site after getting lost around Reading, site is more for EU camper stuff NOT ours. Rather tight to get in. Right next to a huge lake and it's pissin it down. Truck ran perfect lots of power on lvl 3 of 14 on a tow tune, had to really baby the power in lockup oh well trans needed. Geez what a difference 5th to bumper pull My wife Jo has a question, the bed in our 5th is a smidgen shorter than a Uk bed.... fair enough..... how come most of the light switches are close to 8ft off of the floor. Do you guys sleep like grasshoppers ?
  7. I did look at a 38 footer but decided it was way too long
  8. I have a 70kw Herz Pelletstar, not much use to the conversation as it's Austrian, I bought it used from Poland all fitted in my garage heating 2000litres or 528 us gallons of water and also have a log burner in the house so if the power goes off we can still heat the house, although the pelletstar is connected to underfloor heating. On a side note all coal and unseasoned wood is banned here in the UK for domestic heating from next year
  9. It's 33 or 34ft long if I remember correct which is about right for the UK anything much longer will be a problem here
  10. got delivered yesterday, decent weather for a change yesterday and today, back to terrible for tomorrow though, we spent yesterday and today checking everything over, all working good and as it should be, going away in it on the 5th March for 5 days so going to get water to it and check that all works ok but I've no reason to think it won't be all good. Been a while since we bought it and we'd forgotten how clean it was. 2 slides in the lounge area one each side makes for a large open space
  11. that explains the no lights, probably been easier to use truck harness connected to engine
  12. Am I missing something..... you put a98.5 engine into a 01 ??? How does that affect the headlight switch ?? Or am I reading your post wrong and just being dumb ?
  13. When I bought my truck PO had just fitted a tps, one of the el cheapo $ 20 chinese things that needs a harness adaptor to work, it still had a fault, I checked output with a Snap On Brick and at one point in pedal travel voltage took a very quick trip to the funny farm then came ok just as quick, it set a code every time but as long as it wasn't held at the bad spot it was fine, got it as a spare as it would get me home, didn't fit a timbo as at the time I hadn't found this place, got one from Rockauto and touch wood its been ok. Point is even new can be faulty
  14. Nope. Assassin cheaper including buying a cat filter head and I got 2 micron filter to boot
  15. interjected or added to I have a Cat canister prefilter before the assassin as I really didn't like the thought of no filtration before the pump not sure what micron but Cat use it before their mechanical fuel transfer pumps so good enough for Cat good enough for me but there was next to nothing in my tank when I dropped it. I did pretty much the same as DT wants to do, when I bought the truck PO had removed the fuel filter altogether (idiot) I fitted the cat head and filter then replaced the line from filter to vp, I went to South Wales a while back and noticed a really bad stumble on accelleration sometimes in the hills, I forget now what I did to temp fix it and to be fair it would have been fine for ever but decided then the little Fass had to go due to a replacement VP for me would be a huge amount of ££ to get it to my door, I just picked the cheapest mechanical and it worked out all good, I'm using belt and braces on this truck just because of where I am
  16. no arguing... lifes too short for that... there is more than electric to choose from is all and assassin was cheaper than a decent Fass anyways
  17. It does really need to appear next weekend as we booked into a site for 5 days right down south around the 8th march as we have a christening to go to and figured lets take our own hotel
  18. that is a 10psi increase with rpm not a wild swing that has no relation to nothing more rpm = more pressure = more fuel going back to tank to cool the vp, electric is the opposite more rpm = less pressure = less fuel going back to tank. might only be 2 or 3 psi but it is a drop non the less
  19. no wild swings just builds pressure with rpm, more rpm = more pressure and a mechanical pump easily pumps fuel through a 2 micron filter and still maintains 25psi, no noise and no volt draw job done and cheaper... no brainer really
  20. Finally got it all finished and ran it on the road, fuel pressure is 15psi at idle and 25 max which I am happy with, I'm leaving the 2 micron cat filter and head on the truck, with the pulleys switched it was making 27 max at first so I shortened the reg spring and all good now. Got a basic towing tune on the quad that I found on here for free just to test, I haven't drove the truck for a month or so due to FP and quad install but it seems quieter and easier to drive, just seems to GO. I don't get on it at all in fact datalog says 2300 ish rpm max and I was running it up a good mile long hill, this will tow my 5th wheel no problems. I need to test more to see what works best, I could buy a tune but I don't want a tune that adds lots of power as trans and convertor are as far as I know stock so softly softly while I figure out what to do with the trans or more to the point where I'm going to find the huge amount of ££ I'll be giving the uk government for the import tax on either a trans or trans parts pretty much piped like yours now
  21. I had a Fass ddrp on mine, just took it off and fitted a assassin mechanical pump from DAP along with DS and 3/8th line, I did have some pressure problems to start with but that was the 2 micron Cat fuel filter that I use instead of the stock one, this kept the fuel pressure at around 8 ish at idle but it did come up very fast, I decided to swap the drive gears around and that has more than sorted it out, I now have 15psi at idle and 25psi max, it's really nice to see pressure increasing with rpm instead of dropping. The assassin kit uses the stock lines just for returns but 3/8th supply seems to be fine, I have a stock auto truck and have just fitted a quad so 1/2" lines I don't need and to be fair pressure is good on the 3/8th line, it's also removed an electrical item from ecm so win win
  22. 5th delivery postponed due to storm Dennis. To be fair it's on the east coast a fair bit further north than me and east coast seas and wind can be especially bad so probably a good call, going to try for next Sunday.... we'll see
  23. wow 2k for a tooth repair I guess open heart is a sell your home deal My Dad beffore he died was very ill for maybe 10 years with copd which is lung related due to fumes and dust everything totally free he must have spent months in total in hospital, it's all swings and roundabouts and greener on other side of fence, it all has to be paid for one way or the other, ours is tax..... yours is lower overall tax but paid out of pocket... same difference
  24. NHS national health service. All free from a tooth filling to open heart
