  1. I doubt electrical contractors are anywhere near that, would be around £100 ish converted to £. I might earn £200 per day and I'm well paid. Thing is our nhs is free, we have social security payments, state pension which is 9k per yr and rises with inflation, tax has to pay for it all.
  2. Oh yes. We're at £1.28 plus per litre so about £5.80 for uk gallon which is a little bigger than USA gallon, diesel is more than petrol/gas. Costs £130 to £150 to fill the ram. So about $7.56 per gallon Last time out with my travel trailer cost £400 to £500 in fuel for less than 200 mile from home I did use the truck through the week though but not a huge amount
  3. ? these 2 storms blew in from the west on the jet stream which is moving in upper atmos at 250mph, we seem to getting storm after storm coming over from you guys, at least it's not cold, we only get cold when wind is from north or east, and whatever we do here on climate I very much doubt its going to change the JS one bit We have one day next week without rain .....oh joy
  4. Well yes and no. I had to fit the 5th hitch, then pondered on the fuel system on the truck and did that and a quad, by that time it got to the pre arranged date for the drive which was a huge job at nearly 3500sqft or 320 sqm ish. I've just about finished the truck but it needed to be out my workshop so the 5th can sit in front of shop or I'd be blocked in. Yes we had a good storm last weekend, luckily I was ill with a terrible cold so didn't venture out. It is shaping up now as wind is picking up, forecast a months rain tomorrow so flooding very likely
  5. 5er was supposed to be delivered last Sunday it has took so long as had my whole drive dug up and tarmaced, Sunday was postponed due to storm Ciara which cause chaos with 80 mile an hour winds and 24hrs of real stair rod rain, did rearrange for this sunday but we got storm Dennis and another warning to life and property.... ah well maybe the sunday after
  6. I use rockauto, they will have all makes at diff prices... I always buy from the premium list..... shipping to the uk is ok too
  7. I have a similar cooler I was thinking about fitting on my 2nd gen but it has smaller twin fans, something like the bracket you made should work, Is it possible to overcool ? Mine is stock 47re which is next on the list to do
  8. I have a snap on brick but last year got a new snap on modis because SO now include all vehicles inc American in their software where before usa was seperate here in uk Scope is useful at work too as it reads PWM sensors and more
  9. Wow you just described the UK whenever the Labour party ( read commies) are in power, luckily we just had an election and they got the biggest kickin ever, they went from being able to stop the gov from doing anything to having no say in nowt overnight?
  10. I used a siphon bulb to prime the pump then a drill to prime the rest of the system, everything was dry so just didn't fancy spinning engine on the starter with the assassin bone dry and no fuel pressure at the vp
  11. I changed the position of the regulator tonight and put it right at the pump where the instructions say to put it, I now have 13psi at idle and still 25 at 2k, it builds pressure from 13 straight away, I have a Cat filter head with a ultra high efficiency Cat filter, my guage is in a spare fuel out fitting in the filter head so it's on the same side of the filter medium as the line to the vp just in the opposite port, I'm going to see what part number a normal micron filter is tomorrow, I won't be using one of these in the long term but I may just try one to see what happens to the fuel pressure, i'll bet it will be all ok, I'm also going to swap pulleys around to speed the pump up some. I think with the high efficiency filter I'm going to need to speed the pump up a little
  12. I dropped my assassin and used a drill, I used a siphon bulb to suck fuel up to the pump first, I just removed pump outlet pipe and used the bulb on the pump outlet fitting to suck fuel first. Then refit pipe and use a drill
  13. swapped the pulley on the FP for the smaller one, the belt is too slack but it runs and fuel pressure is now 12 at idle and 25 max This means I've put the wrong pulley on the crank, this pulley has tiny allen screws so going to have to remove the adaptor to get the pulley off and swapped because me being an idiot loctited these grub screws in and they now won't come out, I'm going to use the larger pulley on the crank and it's smaller twin on the fp, this will be better as these 2 pulleys have bigger grub screws, this is probably all because I put my regulator right at the vp and not at the assassin as the instructions show, although it does say the fuel system can be designed lots of different ways to suit the application
  14. Ye the Assassin comes with 3 pulleys of which 2 are the same but different number of teeth, and yes the belt is the same style, doesn't need to be tight
  15. I've thought about the low idle pressure and I have got the pulleys the wrong way round, the regulator will keeps psi to 25 no matter what, if I swap pulleys around then it will build more psi at idle but the 25psi reg limit will be hit sooner, going to swap them in the morning as it's nearly dark here now
  16. finished the assassin and the quad instal this morning, fuel bled up ok with a drill, FP is about 7psi at idle and 25psi at around 2k, really nice to see FP increasing with rpm instead of going the opposite way, going to try the smaller pulley on the fuel pump to see if I can get idle pressure a little higher but will need a slightly smaller belt to do that which is no problem as the belt will be available here I'm sure, It is possible I put the wrong pulley on the crank but we'll see. Quad install was easy enough, looks a bit complicated at first but easy once the loom is laid out. There was some concern by the guys at DAP about UK phones and tablets having a bluetooth connection problem, I have a samsung 7" diag tablet thats maybe 5 years old and this connects first time every time without fail without having to do anything except open the quad app, If I shut the truck off and then restart it just reconnects so well happy about that. Now just got to learn how to build a tune, I don't need 500hp or anywhere near as for 1 the AT is stock as far as I know and 2 been there and done HP now I just want MPG and reliability. It's worth the cost certainly here in the UK to see whats going on with temps and pressures
  17. Fuel tank back in today, assassin piped up, decided to fit the pressure regulator right at the VP instead of right at the assassin as in the instructions, this means my fuel filter is pressurized and not on the suction side, I'll see how it goes, it's a Cat filter so I have no concerns about it being able to withstand 20psi or so. It appears I am not able to use the long filter and primer head as there is not enough room down to the starter i'll just research a shorter filter element later, Cat will do one for sure. I'm not going to bother with a water seperator as there was NO water anywhere in the tank or lines and no slime to indicate there has ever been water this is at 156k, I did notice a few sparklies in the fuel tank after it was totally MT, this could have come from the Fass that is now in the bin or the VP, we'll see. Got to put some fuel in it and bleed the system and also figure out the FP gauge supply but all in all happy with the assassin and what comes in the box and if I could figure out how to tag DAP I would........ someone quad tomorrow
  18. My truck had a 180 in it, heater was useless and it never really got warm, backflushed the heater and used Cat cooling system cleaner and fitted a 190 thermo..... just right now, never really goes over 190 to 195 ish
  19. Or when it's raining, foggy, humid or anything inbetween. Death Valley it is then. On the subject of rust and cars in the late 70's early 80's here car makers had a glut of new cars they couldn't sell, one in particular Britsh Leyland bought a huge amount of land to store 1000s of car on, not far from the coast and on grass which of course grew faster than cars were sold, these cars absolutely rusted while you watched and every model is as rare as hens teeth none are worth anything as all were dogsh.. anyway i'm sure one model called a metro there are 14 left with only 5 on the road. BL went bust BTW ?
  20. There's several paint on rust converters here, is it phosphoric acid or someat but can't remember the name, turns rust black and kills it, must have it there ?
  21. Allpar have an ambulance page with a cummins ram and also mention a v10 3500
  22. Here's the link to one https://www.thewrenchmonkey.ca/products/auto-parts/tyc/213915/
  23. It took a while to check on RockA as they don't seem to have the years and models parts fit anymore or at least I couldn't find it, they used to have a cross ref within the info
  24. Sounds to me like you have a short in that mirror harness or in the mirror motor, check wiring at the door jam area for damage, if no damage disconnect mirror and replace fuse and see what happens. Try moving the harness in the jam area to see if it blows the fuse again. There will be wiring diagrams on here somewhere but I'm useless at finding stuff, hopefully someone will link it for you then ohms test the mirror looking for a short
  25. Rockauto and several other parts houses list the part number for 02 to 03 rams also, I'm sure I have one off of 02 5.9 v8 but I think it's 136amp, looks like there was117/136/160 amp alternators used at that time... bet the one I have is not 160
