  1. Any codes? sometimes when working on truck I knock the little wire to grid heater relay loose and they wont work. Of course when I do that I get a code.
  2. IMHO FPPF is the way to go. 8 oz bottle treats 250 gal. Been using it for 25 yr in semi and last 4 yr in my 01. Cost 7.99 per bottle.
  3. IMHO when you snugged the two injector lines the the crossover tube might not seat proper against the injector, this could result in a internal leak of fuel. I say might.
  4. I am going to be changing mine soon, but am a little old school and prefer to grease joints, so I like greaseable when replacing.
  5. Can you grease lower joint?
  6. Oh well I keep trying to find someone near Columbus Oh to do mine no luck so far. As for the donunts I'll have wife vac seal them, that way they'll be fresh maybe a little smashed.
  7. I'll bring donuts as well if you want to do mine. I'm in Ohio.
  8. I agree take the vp off, tappet cover will be easier that way. I did mine about 3 months ago. A friend was going to help, got the parts and use of garage friend got called out of town. To me the hardest part was the fuel lines getting them off and torqued back on. The vp was easy. As stated watch the videos, make sure key way is at 12 o clock. As for the foam mine came off in 5 pieces, threw it away. There is not much change in noise.
  9. my 01 did not have the stepped case. the pin did not move when i tried to knock it back in, but two of the case bolts were hand tight, now all are locte tight and torqued. so the case bolts were more of a concern then the dowel pin.
  10. I have a manuel so can't answer question. that being said I did mine without removing shaft. I had to cut the washer off. Am very pleased with the results.
  11. diesel auto power is whereI got mine. been in since Dec. 2013, am very pleased with the results. picked up 1.5 mpg and lowered EGT aleast 50 degree. nice power mod for modest price.
  12. At 49.99 your looking at 300.00 the Bosch RV 275's that I bought were 409.00 with a 100.00 refund for the old ones. About the same and I get Bosch injectors.
  13. I did the brite box from geno's. it's pretty good but think I would have rather done the sport light, money just wasn;t there.
  14. I pull a 5600# travel trailer, with rv275 boost elbow and fooler and can reach 1250 easy. most time I play it cool and stay 1150 or less. Once east bound from larime I lost a boost boot clamp and 1500 for about 8 sec. before getting out of it, that scared me good. since truck running good 2 1/2 year later, must have caught it in time.
  15. I got the rv 275 I like the small increase in power and gained 1.8 mpg when I don't play with the extra power. I use a boost elbow and fooler so that my boost is max 29 lbs. I happy with the setup for now, maybe later will change.
  16. another thing to check for the vib is the crank shaft damper. After I changed mine all vibs went away. I could see the outside of it and it didn't look to bad but when I removed it the back side was very bad with the rubber coming out from between the two pieces. Put a Fluiddamper and am very happy with the results.
  17. finally home. glad to see everything running fine. My scangauge won't let me clear codes if engine is running, I have to shut down then put key in run position without starting then it will clear codes.
  18. Dap also has good injectors and they are VERY good people to deal with.
  19. On my 01 I changed the orings only. The tubes were fine.
  20. Great thread I've had the dim pass. side headlight, checked grounds and wires. Did not know about the fuse. Will check the fuse connections in PDC. Thanks. Always good info here.
  21. I did the track bar and tie rod ends. I'm quite happy with them for the last 3 yr. I check them and lube them each oil change and have only adjusted the track bar end once. For the money they ara a good alt. to the almost 1000.00 to change track and tie rods. The only problem is the track bar end hits the diff. cover. The instructions say to peen the diff cover. The dent is small and hardly notice it. If I had the money I would buy all new, but budget wise Lukes Links were a great bargin.
  22. I agree with diesel4life dose the tank. If it gets mixed well,[on the drive to camp] you shouldn't have any problem starting. As said maybe cycle grid heat a couple times. In 2012 I worked in Cheyenne, truck would sit 2-3 days in 0-5 degrees started every time.
  23. When I did my egt probe I use grease on drill bit a nd tap as well as magnet. If you have a small pencil mag. you can fish around the hole as extra. Did mine 2 yr ago following above link no problem.
  24. Currently running Delo 15-40 for engine, have used Wally world Super tech 15-40 with good results, change oil at 5k. Use Red Line fluids in tran [6sp] transfer and axles. This year time to do brake and ps fluid.
  25. Agree my 01 has cam sensor, it is what I replaced when I had trouble. It is under the VP just above the vac pump on the back side of the gear cover. M fingers where to fat to fit, so I dropped the vac pump to access, not to hard to do.
