  1. There was a article in the TDR mag. of a truck doing like yours after lots of checking resulting Dodge buying the truck back, it turned out that the oil had been overfilled causing the the rods to hit the oil.
  2. Just finished the relay wiring like IBMobile. Thanks for the drawing easy to follow.
  3. You can change the cam sensor without touching the VP. Just loosen the vacuum pump, then just take a little time. I changed mine that way, much easier the messing with the Vp.
  4. The 216 can also be caused by a loose electrical connection. I had that happen to me. The big one with the white bale. The bale should be to the left.
  5. Have fun changing it. Get a turbo to pipe gasket,. When I changed mine I cut old hose off but could get new one on until removed the flange to the turbo.
  6. Is there a possible loose or missing injector line clamp?
  7. was a code no comm between ECM and Injector pump I think it was? Check the big connection on firewall. The one with the white bale, it needs to be like this.
  8. Thanks for this. It reminded me t o order a new filter. Mine's been on for three years now and is sure to need changed.
  9. Thanks Dieselfuture. Will pick up some soon.
  10. Hey Ironforger where did you get the pennzoil synchromesh ? It's getting time to change trans. fluid and that's what I want to use. Also liked Dieselfuture asked how much to overfill?
  11. IBM moble hope you don't mind i'm saving this pix. for future use. Thank You.
  12. What year truck? Please fill out signature so we can help.
  13. Last update [fingers crossed] Been a week now no trouble. Even pulled travel trailer 30 miles to lake and everything good. Thanks to all advice and help.
  14. When I do mine I pull one of the extra plugs on the pass side of engine to let air out.
  15. Did this to mine after seeing this. I like it much better down out of the way.
  16. Just take out fuse, then no hole in dash. Here in southeast Ohio no good radio stations. Even when try to listen to **** much ads.
  17. update two went on another 2-3 hour drive some hwy. some city no trouble. got a picture of the connection with plastic bale. Between this loose and a rubbed wire maybe fixed????
  18. Thank you. Still considering the different options. Have found a coupling of more connections that were a little dirty or slightly loose. Since finding the connector on the firewall with the white plastic "bale" loose the problem has not occurred. If that was the problem I will most likely wire in a relay to take load off the ECM. Fingers crossed going for a longer drive today.
  19. Getting that pump off of the ECM is a good idea. Most of the after mark stuff does that thru a relay using the oe circuit for the relay trigger. This takes the load off of the ECM That is assuming you are getting the power for FRRP from oe pump connection. Yes that is where the power comes from. I like this idea. Was wonder if you could use a relay to take off load. A good many years back I ran a booster pump in conjunction with an in tank pump. The power went thru an oil pressure switch. No oil pressue and the pump did not run. Do you remember where you put the oil pressure switch? That would make it like the safety oe way. Please keep rambling, you have good ideas. Thank you.
  20. There are a few things that pull a small charge. Like the clock in radio and the memory for the radio.
  21. Normal is 20 idle 15 hwy speed 5 wot. The voltage to pump is zero when problem occurs. If I shut down for a minute or two pump starts working again until next time. So far have cleaned any connection I can find. On firewall there are two multi wire connections one of them have a plastic "bale" that holds it together. The bale was not closed all the way. While I had the fuel filter housing out to change leaky drain I also put a Big line kit on, This brought pressure up at wot to 10#. Took truck out and drove to town shopping no problem in the 2-3 hours today.
  22. Update Well today truck started doing same thing. Fuel pressure goes to zero then I get the p0216 code, if I shut down for a couple of minutes then restart and go till it happens again. going to read up on wire the lift pump away from the ECM and see what happens.
  23. Started truck getting ready to go to work. Backed out of garage Turned onto highway went about 100 yards lost all power started missing. Got turned around and started back to house noticed DTC and no fuel pressure. The code was p0216. No time to check anything, jump into the wife car get to work. All day thinking 1500.00 for new vp 44. Remembered no fuel pressure, checked when I got home' put key in turn to on lift pump runs. Bump engine lift pump runs for 20 seconds. Thinking one time thing. Pull onto road lose all power. So start checking wires. Found one rubbing, no break in insulation but taped it and put cover over it. Also changed the relay for the fuel heater/diesel. Took truck out for test run, it is running great, went about 6 miles. Tomorrow drive to work. Keeping fingers crossed..
  24. I run up to 28# of boost on mine and since getting the boots and clamps set from Geno's, I've never had a problem. Are you using a constant torque clamp?
  25. On mine there are two parts, one[ that looks like the picture] fits on the stub of the truck, the other one which is round fits in the tailgate then fits over the one in the picture. This is on the driver side.
