  1. At least it won't rust...
  2. While 'mid' pan is kinda catchy...I'll just call it deep pan...like everyone else does.
  3. Mid pan? Just stock, deep or double deep is all that I'm aware of.
  4. Goerend deep pan FTW...it's one stout unit!
  5. These are the 2 schools of thought about it. It comes down to...do you want to know the temp of the oil going in (pan) or do you want to know the temp of it coming out (hot line)? Both would be the most ideal. In regards to keeping a transmission from overheating...the temp coming out is a much more proactive reading. But like I said both have their pros and cons. Yes...very late and somewhat inaccurate as well...as you mentioned.
  6. I was gonna say exactly this ^^^. There has been many debates on where to read from...pan or hot line. And there's pros and cons to each one. But I thought it best to read from the hot line...so I get the fluid temp straight out of the torque converter which is the hottest that the fluid will ever get. To me it's more of a real time reading and the gauge is more active.
  7. I had an extra one of those from when I shortened my truck. It's possible that I might still have it in my bucket of parts. I'll look for it if you need me to.
  8. I wouldn't mind driving your truck after you get that turbo in.
  9. Yes sir they do! My 7x.010's were purchased from DAP without turning in my stock cores...I still have them.
  10. Those OBS Ford wheels look awesome on your truck! They remind me of the old Weld Super Singles I once had. I wouldn't get rid of them if I were you...they look pretty sweet on the 2nd gen.
  11. You do good work! I'm gonna send you the wheels off my other truck to see what you can do on those. I'll even pay for the shipping!
  12. $85 sounds right for that job...with a 2-post lift. No more than an hour...lift makes it fast and easy.
  13. Hahahahaha...also sorry @dripley. Nice...glad it came out well!
  14. Looks good Greg! The nut looks like it has decent clearance. Are you gonna use loctite on the nut too?
  15. I have had several sets of BFG all terrains and they are a great tire...always got 50k out of em. Currently I'm running Nitto Terra Grappler G2's in an E load range. They are an all terrain but a very subtle tread pattern. Only had them for about 8k miles so they still look new. Super quiet on the highway and seem to do well in the slop. Time will tell on the mileage but they are 50k warrantied.
  16. Only compound turbos can spoil...singles won't do it.
  17. Lol...you know you want em. Your wallet will eventually heal... I haven't even missed the $3200 I spent on them...except for when I need it to buy something else.
  18. Same problem...can't seem to bust 1100 with compounds. I've blown a boot off somewhere in the mid 50's and it scared the crap out of me...sounded like a 12 gauge went off under the hood. I'll bet blowing a big hole in one at 80 psi sounded like a colonial war cannon going off? Yes that's a pretty good way to look at it.
  19. Welcome...if you want to alleviate any and all concerns about egt's then compounds are the answer. A hx35 over a 72 would be a great towing/playtime combo. Or start with a 62 and eventually put a 75 underneath it if you still need egt cooling help and want more power. I run a 62 over a 75 with 7x.010's and it can handle much more fuel than I currently give it and still keep egt's low. I don't even pay attention to the pyrometer anymore cuz there's just no need to. Spools similar to stock and can get around 60 psi out of it...a 62 by itself should give around 40-45ish psi depending on injector size.
  20. Yes you are right...one side at a time is possible. I did both at the same time cuz I went much higher...installed 7" lift coils under 2.5" spacers. Only one side at a time can be done at the OP's height and only one pair of spring compressors needed. Thanks for correcting... No you should be ok doing one side at a time at that height with just one set of compressors... @98whitelightnincorrected me on that.
  21. I got my 7x.010's from @dieselautopower...along with other stuff. Price, quality and service have been hard to beat.
  22. Muy bien...muchas gracias! No llama immigracion porque yo soy un ciudadano de Los Estados Unidos. Tiene buen dia!
  23. You will have to get the truck frame pretty high in order to swap them out. Putting spring compressors on the coils while they are compressed by the truck's weight will make it easier...that's what I did. Of course you'll need 4 of them.
  24. Like Me said if budget is tight...but if you want to tow like a champ and be able to walk your buddies' trucks then compounds are the best option. 7x.010's will give you around 500-525hp depending on size of turbos...7x.012's (200hp) will give you 550-575ish. Drive pressures will be healthier and spool-up will be slightly better/faster as well.
  25. I use a Smarty...but for more than just scanning codes through.
