ATF and 2 stroke in fuel?
Back in the 60s, atf was pretty much light oil with whale oil. Over the road trucks ran on far heavier and cheaper fuel oil (not far from the bunker oil used for ships). Smoking was a given. Engines were expected to use oil as fuel. Our engines are different, even the 12 valve is. Atf is also nowhere near the light straight hydraulic oil it once was. I dont even use 2 stroke anymore due to the hassle.

im sorry. I misread. I thought you ment you were shifting without the clutch entirely. Carry on!- RPM Matching when Shifting
It burns out the syncros shifting that way.- Truck stolen
In some part, you're right. In some part, we need a kick in the pants. Thank God for Beer. That is all I got today.- Truck stolen

More stupid hippies and anti american politics out in force. Build the pipeline.- Goodbye Edge Comp, Hello Quadzilla Adrenaline
I agree with both you guys. However, this stupid old truck has become something of an obsession. I tell myself its paid for and iI have to drive it to get my money back out of it!- Goodbye Edge Comp, Hello Quadzilla Adrenaline
Fun fun fun! Tuning is fun, and the group we have here i am sure the quad will get honest reviews. I also don't doubt that m73m is gonna be happy!- First Time Towing!
How am i supposed to shift while texting? When i had my 5sp, i would shuttle through the gears with the clutch in to re align the dogs if it needed it.- First Time Towing!
Or brute force and anger. Works for me. The big thing is allowing the dogs to slowly rotate if mis aligned, which rules out having the truck in drive.- First Time Towing!
I stop when i go between high and low range and in park. If its onry, i try neutral.- Tapping noise
It isnt good. Rod bearing or injector is typical for a tap. I dont recall seeing any lifter issues. You might get a clue by sending an oil sample in and seeing whats high...- i just gotta say i LOVE this new truck

You guys are strange. I worked with an Annapolis grad who drives nothing but his fleet (of 5) 1980s Cadillac and Buick diesels. I liked the caddys though, and kinda wanted his Fleetwood Brougham D'Elegance... It made you feel like you were driving Ronald Reagan around.- Manual Trans Conversion - Seeking Advice/Tips/Issues/etc
Row row row your boat... I like manuals too, but I won't go back unless I have a daily truck and then a tow truck.- Lift pump manual override.
It jumps from the relay 12v power to the relay signal from the ECM to throw the relay. Two wires and a switch that jumps the relay on my firewall. I know, its goofy, but I hate priming new filters, covered in diesel, having to either bump the starter or use my alligator jumper clips to keep the pump going. It is also nice for when the truck sits for a while, to run the pump and get any air out of the line to the vp44. Totally unnecessary, but i like it.- Lift pump manual override.
Wired this up today! I used a switch and tapped into the relay for my fass. Now on cranky days or when i change my filters i dont have to bump they key to prime the filters. Its the switch between the tst and the brake.- Truck stolen

Keep an eye out on the forums... it will pop up somewhere.- Turbo opinions
That might just work. Text me when you get it tied down to a specific day. As do I. I like it around town, but towing it is rough. Ive stupidly been as heavy as 22k gcvw. It was a pig to get off the line and possibly wouldnt up a steep hill. You will be happier, in my opinion, with something that spools fast in a single than a big slow spool turbo. Twins are best though, I wish I had done twins rather than my single. Twins with a tight converter would drive great around town. Even then though, I caution you. Your truck likely has a dana 70. I killed mine quite spectactularly after towing. A tight converter, 1st gear, injectors and a chip will twist the axles right off. I now have a dana 80! Food for thought, and if yours has been a pulling truck, id pull the axle shafts at some point and look for twisted splines and cracks at the flange.- Turbo opinions
Sounds like a plan! Hit me up when you are driving through. - Truck stolen
