  1. You want a 4 wheel camper. I want a camper or a 4 wheel camper. Expensive new, but can be had cheap from time to time if they need a little work. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1733696_Four_Wheel_Camper_Rebuild.html
  2. My concern with the coolant is that if there is oil leaking into coolant and white smoke... is that there is some damage to the head gasket and oil cooler. An intermittent head gasket leak is rare, but it does smoke when it is really romped on. I agree with the injector comment, especially for startup smoke, but old dirty coolant on this old of a truck makes me think corrosion.
  3. Oil cooler, yes thanks.
  4. IIRC, there is a heat exchanger in the block on the right side under the turbo. The oil pressure is higher than the coolant, so it leaks one way. How often has the coolant been changed? Is the cooling system pretty dirty and corroded or clean?
  5. Um.. that weird coolant oil seal heat exchanger thing in the block... sound suspect.
  6. Oil filter I think is what he is getting at
  7. They are cool rims. Very classic dodge. They do crack eventually though.
  8. A bit more busy. The sun rays might be a bit much, but hey, let me know what you all think. My creativity is waning at the moment. 4 colors.
  9. All this is in layers as a .psd in Adobe Elements, so it can be re edited easily.
  10. I used a font I like that mimics the one the USFS and Park Service used in the 1950s that has a nice 'lets go do something fun' look. I am currently looking for something to put in the background in black. Mountains, trees, Wild and Free being wild and free...
  11. Several too many colors, but it illustrates what (I think) Nick was talking about in terms of needing fairly clean reflections to show detail in few colors. I like this one... Creative juices are flowing. And, it is two colors.
  12. I am working on editing some pictures. High optioned is good. A sport model would be awesome.
  13. Personally, it is just a T shirt or sticker. I don't think anybodys truck is inherently better or worse for our purpose as a logo truck... what matters is that the truck is easily dealt with by the "artist" that we use for maximum impact and minimal cost and whining by the "artist." Forgive my grumping about the artist thing, but I have done T shirt orders before and if somebody is going to put the moniker of Artist on their name, they should be able to free sketch stuff for me without much hassle or complaint. I know some real artists who have the capability and do such things for fun. I can throw crap into a software program and make stuff, I have before and it turned out awesome. I just don't have the demand creativity and skill that a true artist should.
  14. Your signature shows a six inch factory lift. What is that? I'd say you can look at components with a pry bar and with someone in the cab rocking the wheel back and forth. Ball joints I'd jack the truck up and really yank on the edge of the tire to see if it moves. If you do joints replace the hubs as well. Lukes link isn't a guaranteed fix for the track bar either.
  15. Welcome! White fuel smelling smoke on start isn't that unusual and isn't typically isn't a problem. White at wot is hard to say. Possibly oil or coolant... how hot is your turbo getting? Any leaks in the seal or noticeable oil smell to the smoke?
  16. I dislike a lot of engineers that design "engineer" type things and I am an engineer. Though, I am more of a Petroleum Engineer than a nitty gritty design engineer. I once was manager of a big project for my civilian employer. We designed a new pumping unit that was pretty darn awesome. It was on a semi trailer sized custom frame, and empty was around 100,000 lb. Cat Diesel powered, could move over of 200 barrels/min (8400 gal/min) at 60 psi of water, hauled chemicals, had a fully automated and computerized control system that would run itself and meter chemicals using gear pumps and Micro Motion flowmeters... blah blah blah. It was awesome in short for everybody involved. I designed the thing like an oil field hand with an OCD fetish and deep pockets would. I ended up designing a great unit. It was easy to maintain, easy to use, safe, and it flat out pumped like no other. However, it was significantly overbudget. It is very hard to design anything (especially as a team) that has low cost, light weight, high performance and is easy to maintain.
  17. hmmm... Knock to me sounds like injector or a rod/wrist pin problem unless the dying alternator killed something kinda crazy. As the batteries might be bad now from being pulled so low, I wonder if it might be that the batteries are flat. These trucks do weird things with old batteries. I know it is unlikely but it is better than a rod issue. I would bar the engine over using the alternator nut and pop it back and forth to see if I could get it to rattle.
  18. Well, get out your snowshoes and go see it. It isn't bad.
  19. I've removed it, but never replaced them. I found I had to remove the front yoke, then maneuver the shaft around with a jackstand to get access to the bolts holding the cardan onto the transfer case.
  20. I want a ride. This is neat, especially at 6000 ft. I think my 62 is going to be pretty laggy at altitude compared to 300 ft.
  21. If you have a cad axle it shouldn't spin. I don't have a cad.
  22. I had a similar noise recently and it was a front hub. I'd pull the hubcaps and touch everything to see if it's warm.
