Sarah Palin
Great VP choice. John McCain just earned my vote today. Not only is she an NRA member, but she's a hunter, conservative, prolife, true reformer and she's HOT!!!!! B) B)

4:10s MPG
My last 4 tanks averaged together, have averaged right at 20mpg. These are the tanks since downloading SW5 on the Smarty Revo programmer. I've got 3.73's though and I pull a 5,000lb work trailer around during the week!! 16oz. of 2 stroke oil per fill up also in my 3rd gen.!!

Smarty
Just filled up this evening. 598 miles on the tank and the fuel light just came on about 1-2 miles from the station. Hand calculated mileage was 19.8mpg.........The last 4 days of not having the trailer off the truck really brought the mileage down!!! Still, I'm not disappointed at all!!! Filled up for $4.17/gal also!!! A bud of mine just a bit west of me has been filling up for $3.99/gal, but it's 20%bio!!!!!!! 8|

I see I'm gonna have to go weigh my truck now!!!! LOL I'll weigh it with a fuel tank of fuel and me (maybe my 80lb. lab also) sitting in it along with all the stuff I normally have in/on the truck........camper shell, dog crate, dog training stuff, 9mm, etc. etc............I'll post up what she goes when I get over near the scales!! I'm guessing she'll come in over 8,000lbs. :smart

They say; I don't know if it's true or not, but the stock 3rd gens weigh about 1,000lbs. more than the equivalent stock 2nd gens. So, Mike, if you want to throw a half ton in the bed of you truck and then do the math......then we may have something to compare!!!!! :smart :thumbsup All the best!!!! :thumbsup :D

I just passed 400 miles on this tank of fuel, and the right side of the fuel gauge needle is still touching the left side of the "half tank" line on the fuel gauge!! I'm real happy with that!!! :thumbsup :thumbsup Looking like another 20+mpg tank of fuel!!! B)

Smarty
20.3 on this past tank. Filled up today for $4.33/gal. I would have to say now that my Smarty has picked up my everyday mileage by about 1-1.5mpg. Over 600 miles on this tank also!!

Mix ratio for 2 cycle Oil
You shouldn't use 2 stroke oil in your '08. It's got all the emissions stuff that the 2 stroke could play havoc with. Besides, your truck was designed to run on ULSD!! Don't have a clue about your VW!!

My last tank netted me 20.4mpg hand calculated!! :thumbsup Probably 150-175 miles of the 630 for the tank were towing miles. I filled up with the overhead DTE lie-O-meter at 58!!! Could've gone further, but I couldn't pass the station that had diesel for $4.49/gal!!!! :wow :wow Talked to my bud today and he filled up for $4.24, 30 miles West of me!!! Hopefully she keeps coming down!!! Got some trips coming up in the near future. Can't wait to run the Smarty on open highway and see what she'll do!!! Of course, I'll post my findings!!! :thumbsup :smart

Invisible Sign
I must have had it on my truck and/or trailer yesterday!!! You know, the one that says either "Ride My ***" or "Cut Me Off"!!!! The first sign is self explanatory, but the second..........I now know how road rage happens!!! Jerks pulling out in front of me while I'm cruising 50-55mph or when they pass me and almost take the drivers side fender off when trying to get in front of me. It's a good thing I'm pretty mellow or I might pull the 9mm out!!! 8| Not only are they endangering themselves by cutting my off, they're endangering "ME"!!!!! You know.......NUMBER #1!!!!! B) B) It's usually ricers, or young mothers in minivans with the "Baby On Board" sign in the window. As if that gives them free rein on the road......Sorry, I'm in a bad mood.....more beer!!!! :thumbsup

Here is a poll of fuel additives
Funny thing is though that I didn't come up with the idea of using 2 stroke oil in diesel fuel as a lubrication additive myself. I first read about it on DieselRam.com shortly after I got my 04.5 in June of '04. Remember my opening post on the "Monster Thread"??? I didn't have my usual mixture of PS+MMO, so I dumped a quart of 2 stroke into the tank on the 04.5. I was really surprised at the results and that's why I posted that first post. I can't really take credit for starting anything...........right place at the right time maybe!!! LOL LOL

The fuel gauge is just touching the top side of the 1/4 line on my second fulll tank of fuel after installing my Smarty. Right now, I've got 520 miles on the tank. The overhead lie-O-meter says I can go 193 more miles before it hits 0 DTE. Running Smarty SW5 default settings!!! I'm happy!!! B)

Quadzilla Rail Pressure Gauge
Got this Quad rail gauge installed on Thursday. From my research regarding rail pressure, my truck is right where it should be at idle and cruising for 04.5 and up 5.9's. About 6500psi at idle and 15,000-17,000psi cruising 55-60 over fairly level roads. Haven't done any WOT tests yet. Even the way I have the Smarty set with a bit more rail pressure, these are normal numbers. :smart

Very cool!!! :thumbsup :thumbsup

Mike, I would've been much closer to you mileage wise if that whole tank had been NON TOWING!! 1/3 of the miles on that tank were towing 5,000lbs. in suburbia. Yes, I'm still 2 strokin' the truck also at about 1/2 ounce per gallon. Usually I just dump in 16oz. per fill up and usually pump in 31-32 gallons. Still works for me!! :smart B)

The first full tank of fuel with my Smarty got me 19.7mpg average for the tank...hand calculated. Thought it looked better, but I'm not complaining one bit. 607.2 miles on the tank, of which about 225-250 were towing my work trailer. No highway miles either on this tank. Can't wait for a long highway trip to see what she does with the Smarty. :thumbsup

Smarty
Update, 553 miles on the tank now and it's just touching the 1/8 line on the fuel gauge. Overhead DTE says 105 miles to go. I usually run it down to near 0. The overhead lie-O-meter is up to 24.1 now!!!! I can only wish it were that high!! :thumbsup B)
-
Smarty
497 miles on the tank so far and she's just evened out on the 1/4line!!! This is gonna be a good tank mileage wise as the next couple days, I've got some driving around empty to do!! :thumbsup The lie-O-meter is reading 23.8mpg and hopefully I can "UP" that a bit this weekend!!!! I'm thinking this tank will get me 20+mpg!!! This is my first tank with the Smarty installed!!! B)

Quadzilla Rail Pressure Gauge
Anyone know what anything about it???? I'm considering it now since I'm running the Smarty Revo. The Revo increases rail pressure. I've got the Revo on the default settings which are supposed to be safe for stock injectors; but I just want to know what's going on under the hood!!! :smart I've got an Edge Juice w/Attitude for sale if anyone is interested!! I had it on my 04.5!! Works well!! :thumbsup

Smarty
Thanks Maiden!! It's almost like I'm driving a "new" truck now. It is "so" different!! Different from the Edge and a lot different from stock!!!! Right now the truck has 382 miles on this tank and it's between the 1/2-3/8 line on the fuel gauge!!! This tank is getting real good mileage........and about half of the miles on this tank have been "towing" miles!! Granted my trailer only goes about 5,000lbs, but still!!!!! I ain't complainin' :thumbsup :thumbsup !!!!!
