  1. Mike, I did see your "little buddy" in the picture. Just didn't think I needed to mention it!!!! The extra dogs would just be your "early warning" device for possible thievery!!!!:thumbup2:With yesterdays outcome; I'd expect more stuff to "walk off" magically for regular folks around the country once things hit the even lower bottom than we're in now.:duh:Hope you and Mom have plenty of ammo around. This coming year; the current occupant of the White House, will again be the NRA salesman of the year!!!! And expect an all out assault on "legal" gun ownership and "legal" gun and ammunition sales!!!!:smart:
  2. Didn't know you had stuff "walking off" on you??!!! Sounds like you need another dog or 3!!!
  3. That's one benefit of me cutting most of the trees down in my yard. Much, much fewer leaves to deal with!!!!!! I'm in the "low spot on the high spot" here, so I do collect some water. When I moved in here 9+ years ago, I'd still have dew on my lawn at 2:00PM in the afternoon, and a sump pump running all the time. Since getting rid of most of the trees, I have a much nicer, and dryer lawn; less leaves to clean out of gutters, sump doesn't run much at all unless raining, and way less lawn care. The trees that I took down were crap too!! Box elder, soft maple, and 1 ash that was hit with the EAB. Those trees never should've been allowed to grow here IMHO.
  4. The '04.5 and '05 common rail engines were all rated at 325HP and 600ft.lbs. The '06 to whenever the 6.7 Cummins came out were rated at 325HP and 610ft.lbs.My '99 was rated at 235HP and 460ft.lbs.
  5. At my polling place, I'm usually in the teens-thirties as far as voters go. Today I was voter 112!!!!! That said, I'm really nervous; better yet scared, about this election if the proper outcome doesn't happen. Can y'all imagine what an Obama, unfettered by the need to be re-elected, can do to the country with a second term???????? SCOTUS appointments similar to Kagan and Sotomayer, tweeking Obamacare even more, more appeasement in foreign policy, even higher fuel prices, and less FREEDOM AND LIBERTY here at home!!!!:smart:The folks that can; and actually do, vote for a man like Obama scare me more than the man himself!!!!
  6. AH64ID, how are the new tunes "better"??? Before I try to FUBAR something that's working really good, I'd like to know!!!!:lmao2:As of now running SW5 default setting on my Smarty Revo SO6, I have lower EGT's than stock, more power than stock, and a more responsive throttle than stock. What more do I need???
  7. I've got the Smarty Revo SO6. I'm too scared to try to change it because I use a Mac 'puter and because the set up I have now is great!!
  8. Just looking quickly at the first picture while starting to scroll...............................with a the yellow leaves in back, it almost looks like a fire!!!!
  9. I'll say it again.............I wish I had such "relatively" easy access to abundant firewood!!! Around here, I couldn't even get a wheelbarrow of split wood for $20!!!!!:duh:That's why I'm always scoping for trees down near me that I may be able to scrounge free (minus fuel and my labor of course:doh:).It is work to procure and process; but I actually find it relaxing in a way. In another way of thinking, it's money in the bank once it's CSS (cut, split, stacked). You're not paying to keep yourself warm...........you've already paid for it!!!!:smart:This fall/winter, I'm hoping to be able to scrounge up at least 1/2 of what I did in this past winter, spring and summer. I figure I'm about 1 year ahead on wood now. It's been pretty mild around here, so I've hardly made a dent in my stacks.Probably justed jinxed myself there!!!
  10. Mom,He wasn't "lost".............he only didn't know where he was!!!! I've gone on a couple hunting trips to Colorado with "guys" like that, and I wouldn't trust them with anything, let alone my life or someone else's!!! In the camps I was in, it wasn't hard to spot them. I often wonder why we take such pains to "save" folks like that??!!! Doesn't matter whether it's out by you and Mike, or in the inner city or even suburbia like where I'm at...............I cannot help but think sometimes that we're not improving the species at all..................based on the daily news and such!!!:soap:Sorry, had to vent...............went pheasant hunting at the state place on a Sunday, and all the weekend warriors were out!!!! LaterJoe
  11. Could Jenny Craig be in your future, Mike???? Just judging by the last picture!!!! The "dickey-do" starter belly forming??? - - - Updated - - - Just teasing you, my friend. Sure wish I had the unlimited access to firewood (free essentially) that you do!!! Mom is looking good also!!!
  12. Rogain, go back and double check what Mike told you...........he's spot on!!!!If all that is Kosher; when that happens to me, it's ususally from fatigue from cuttin a while. Tthis is what I do for that.......................We all know that 99.86% of all chainsaws are "right-handed", correct???? Often times when cutting, I'll go "lefty" on my McCullock ProMac 610. I'm amazed at how straight she cuts that way. After a while going lefty, I'll go back "righty" and the saw cuts just fine again.I think what you may be seeing is fatigue or possible over "right-handedness". What I mean is this.............are you one of those guys that is absolutely inept with their "off" hand???? If so, you are probably unconciously pressuring the saw to cut that way.A good sharp saw for vertical cutting should almost want to pull you over the top of the log. If that's not what you're getting, you saw is not sharp.
  13. Just the 'puter from what I remember reading!!!! That said, AH64ID will have the answers for sure...................just hang around a bit!!!!!
  14. I'll forward the links and info. My guess is that they'll just go gasser though.
  15. All pose that to them and see what they say. The truck is in really fine shape........just a POS engine in it!!!! How much for a quality rebuilt 12v????? Where to look???:banghead:
  16. You'll probably be hugely shocked IMHO. How do you think Mike and I get the mileage we do out of these trucks???? Sure they can go fast.........very fast..........and get fast quickly..........does that mean you need to use it all the time???? I don't care if I get passed on the road. I'd rather them pass me than ride my dupa so close that I can't see them in my rear view mirrors!!!! This thread was about tire wear.................good mileage=long tire life IMHO!!! I tow as much as anyone here on this site........save for CajFlynn.............and I still get good tire life. Granted, my trailers ain't heavy, but they're still trailers!!! I grew up hauling critters to market..........you learn fast how to tow/haul easily doing that!!
  17. Around here; especially in Wisconsin, most guys just have their wives ride in the bed of their trucks, just for that reason!!! The P-whipped guys in Wisconsin give their wives rain suits..........most don't.
  18. That had ice tea coming out my nose!! - - - Updated - - - With 20/20 hindsight, I never should have flipped the switch. Don't believe it ever clicked on though, because it was pretty mild the 9 days I was gone. When I got home, I turned the furnace switch off and built a fire. That was just over 2.5 weeks ago. Don't know that scrounging firewood will save me any money this winter, but I know I'll stay a lot warmer!!!
  19. I wasn't bashing either.................well maybe just a little!!!!!:ashamed:Just relaying some diesel info from some folks that I know personally. Similar to that thread I linked over from the TDR about the one fellows on going nightmare with his Ford C&C company truck!!!
  20. Talked with one of my dog training buds earlier today. Found out from her that their '06 Furd F350 diesel with the 6.0h no it spent all of it's time in the shop when they went down to Tulsa, OK for a dog event!!!!! Only 86k on this bad boy also.Vanessa told me that her and Steve (her husband) will be looking for a gasser. I told them that wasn't wise if they plan to do any long term towing of their tag camper/trailer. It's a big one!!! They're considering a Chevy gasser!!!!:duh:I told her to look for a 2-3 year old Dodge with the 6.7 in it and buy it and then do the deletes..............but what do I know..................
  21. After 3 hours of pheasant hunting and then being home about 10 minutes!! He's my old guy....almost 8.5years old now.Can you imagine what your wife or GF would say if you snapped a photo like this of them sleeping!!!!???????????
  22. A couple pix of my Englander 13NC wood stove cruising at about 625* stove top and 475* stack temp. The pix don't do the secondaries justice IMHO!!!! This little stove is the proverbial "cat's dupa" as far as I'm concerned. It'll be Nov. 1 tomorrow, and I only switched on my furnace while I was gone in NoDak from Oct. 12-Oct. 20!!! When I got home I turned the furnace switch off, and she ain't been on since!!!! While I was gone I set it a 50* also!!!! Don't think she clicked on at all while I was gone!!
  23. Glad you're OK Russ. I've been through two tornados.....................they're, "Wham, Bam, Thankyou, Maam", as compared to hurricanes. I heard that one of the Coumos.........I think Marios' son.......... attempting to blame it on the disproved theory of "man-made" global warming. Kind of surprised none of the Libtards are blaming Bush for this.............they blamed him for 9-11 and Katrina and a host of other things......... Keep us updated how stuff is progressing out there Russ!!!!
  24. Toyo is not really a popular brand of truck tires around here. Before I bought my Cooper Discoverer ATR's (last set, not current AT3's) I called a couple tire shops that carried Toyo tires and inquired what they'd cost. At that time; with mounting, valve stems, balancing, etc. included, it'd would've come to almost $300/tire!!!!!!!:spend:After choking a bit, I said Coopers are fine with me!!!!! That said, if I could find the Toyo M-55's for the same price as what I can get my Coopers for; I'd be all over them like...................(insert your own colorful metaphor)!!!!!!!!
