Anti gay protestors
I understand what you're saying; but hear this..... The CFA owner is a devout Christian and spends HIS own, after taxes money to promote Christian values. I'd bet that he's a big time military supporter also!!! This man is thinking about his kids future as well as our country's with these beliefs IMHO. Whilst the protester is only worried about who he's gonna nail in...........well you know!!! These people are only looking out for the moment and the near future. Immediate gratification whores of a kind....... If these "protesters" put as much time and effort into actually working for a living, rather than protesting, they'd be much better off financially!!!

Michael.............How Close????

Slightly disappointed with MPG's
Do you have "gauges" in your truck??? If so, what were the reading prior to slowing and after??? I drive by the boost gauge and the EGT gauge; and I try to keep them as low as possible. Without lugging the engine of course. Since this is a 2nd gen forum........do you have 3.55 gears in the rears??? What were you towing?? Was it big??? If so, you may have been out of the "sweet spot" of your truck. That's why I asked about gauges. They tell you so much about your right foot!!!

What should I expect if I remove catalytic converter on my 03?
'03 CR Dodge Cummins trucks DID NOT have a kitty!!!!!!The kittys were added with the start of the 325hp 600ft. lbs torque engines in the '04.5 model year. The first CR's............'03-'04 didn't have them. Is it a "resonator" you're looking at???

Anti gay protestors
That's all I care about when I go to a restaurant. I had a huge problem with some of those asshat elected persons that said they were going to punish a private citizen and business owner (employing people) for his personal, moral and religious beliefs!!

Might be buying a 3rd gen
This^^^^^^!!! I've been doing the 2 stroke thing for 7 years now in my '04.5. Just over 170,000 on the clock and the injectors are still doing their job!!!! I run 1/2oz 2 stroke per 1 gallon of diesel......and have been at that ratio for years. For me that winds up being 16oz. of 2 stroke per fill up. Normally my truck takes 31-32gallon of diesel at fill up. I'm not real anal about being exact on the 2 stroke thing, as my truck runs just as good on a doubled ratio!!!! The extra filtration is a must due to the tolerances and the pressures these CR truck are designed for. I have one of the early '04.5 trucks, and I've had no injector problems. IMHO, that gets overblown by guys that modify their truck "stupidly"!!!!! Usually on advice from a place Mike and I used to frequent!!! So don't let injector fears keep you from this truck if you truly want it. My bud with a stock '03 replaced his injectors at like 240,000 miles. He used to tow with that truck more often than I do with mine!! He's at almost 330,000 miles now. I'm only at 170,000 now.............hopefully I've got a couple more years before injectors become a concern!! If ever!!

Gauges

Give me the Skinny!
I had always thought/read that the "4th" generation started with the introduction of the 6.7litre Cummins in '07.5 model year. Just saying..........but if I'm wrong, I appologize.

Give me the Skinny!
The mods may need to move this thread to the 4th gen. section........seeing that you said it's an '08.I'll tell you this though..........If you live in a free state that allows "deletes" etc...........the 6.7 Cummins is a winner. I've heard of 21-23mpg with deletes. And only 16-17mpg with with them. That's highway/empty of course!!!

First Wood In Months
Hand split about 1/2 a full cord early this AM. About 10:30AM, I went down to the neighbors to "noodle" the big rounds to get them home. That took about 45 minutes, and about another 30 to wheel barrow all of it to the truck to load it all up and get it to my place. Here's some pix of the "noodled" big rounds added after I split a bunch of the "smaller" stuff this AM. - - - Updated - - - Red Flag???? Is that a warning to let you know that it's dry up there, and they don't want folks doing stuff up there?? Wasn't that long ago that you were typing about the nice cool summer you were haveing!!!

First Wood In Months
This time of year around here, it's hard to scrounge firewood because the tree services are going 24/7 it seems. Most of those services either.......1, stack the wood for the home owner after job 2, take it with them to cut/split/sell themselves 3, take all the wood chipper/shread/grind into mulch no matter the size!!!!Long story short, the neighbor down my street had another tree come down in his yard. Just missed his vehicle also!!!! Anyhow; I hadn't driven that direction for several days, but noticed yeesterday morning, that a tree did come down in their yard. On my way home from work I saw the home owners + some friends of theirs attempting to tackle this tree. I get home drop the trailer, and walk on down and ask if'n they need a hand. They said "Come on down!"I cut in 30 minutes probably 3x the wood it took them to cut in probably 2-3 hours!!! This was yesterday............I hauled back more of the wood today. I still have 6 rounds on the ground the size of the 2 biggies on the end, and probably 2-3 more the same size to cut off the main trunk yet until I'm down to the root ball................Yeah, this tree came out of the ground via the root ball. Drought induced????:shrug:Here's some pix of about 80-85% of the latest wood score!!
