  1. I know; but one thing lead to another in that thread..................... I'll try to be even more risque' now!!!! I trust the M1973M nation to understand!!! I hear ya!!!!
  2. Maybe so; but, I'm stating facts as I wipe them!!! Trying to help keep Rogain out of the poor house with his families crazy high TP use also!!! Sure it's something folks don't like to talk/type about, but wasn't it Mark Twain that said "50% of the population will admit to masturbation, and the other half are lying.":smart: Rogan.......you camp via a trailer................has your family ever had to "rough it" out in the wild without TP??? I've sacrificed many socks over the years...........now I always carry a half roll of TP out on my hunting/camping excursions!!! And believe me, I groomed my backside after No.2 more than I can count with leaves and grass!!!
  3. Near "Big Bone Lick" State Park correct??? Always get a chuckle driving by the signs on the Interstate..................Big Bone Lick State Park next exit!!!!
  4. What is it with that??????? All my Buds with wives and kids (male and female) tell me the same thing!!!! Not to "gross" anyone out, but I can get 2-3, sometimes 4 wipes from about 6-8 sheets of even the thin, rough and tough, "John Wayne" TP!!!! You just need to be mindful of how you bunch or fold your TP as you're grooming your bottom!! Some folks must use a "catchers mitt" sized handful of TP to wipe their backsides only once!!!! That doesn't include the women that do the same for just dobbing their little "beavers" with the same amount of TP only for a little tinkle!!!! Many of these folks consider themselves to be "GREEN" also!!!
  5. I truly don't believe it's your turbo.......for the simple fact that you checked it out!!!! Just saying, not arguing.............but, I have been wrong a time or two in the past!!!!I've got a Bud with a '05 Duramax. That truck eats oil. I've been behind him, and he blows blue smoke out like crazy. Especially after cold starts and "prolonged" idling. But my Bud's truck also smokes blue more when he turns right, vs. turning left!!!My Buds truck was what I was basing all my replies to you on. Sounds' similar to some extent, hey?? My Bud has had his truck back to the GM stealership about the oil consumption, and they've said, there's nothing wrong..........and they consider the amount of oil he's using as normal!!!! Which is 2-3 quarts every 5k!!!!!:banghead: Sure sounds like piston rings or valve guides to me!!!What do think about that????? I'll wait for a reply, before I say anything further!!
  6. My wife was hysterical as she shrieked that I get out of the house at this instant. As I was walking out the door, she yells at me antagonistically, "I hope you die a slow and painful death!"I replied in a questioning manner, "So now you want me to stay?"
  7. Link to the article, or more info please!!
  8. Are you pushing the clutch all the way to the floor to start???!!:lmao2:Sorry, couldn't help myself!! Sounds to me like it's in the column somewheres. But I don't know autos. Hopefully one of the resident experts will be around shortly!!
  9. It won't hurt the Cummins one bit to run at 2700rpm for a while. The Cummins is built to run at "redline" indefinitely!!! That said, it'll toast the tranny in short order!!!
  10. Yeah, I need to find an O ring that'll fill some of the "gap" in the TP rolls now!!! Glad you mentioned that also!!!! Not only are the rolls narrower, but the "tube" is a bit larger in diameter also!!!! We're getting it in the backside from both directions now!!!!! - - - Updated - - - Hey Mods.......can you please change out RP to TP in the title of this thread. My edits don't cut it. Thanks!!
  11. I know not many here use TP bypass oil filters like Michael and I; I have to ask, why are the TP rolls getter smaller????You'd think with the "obesity" epidemic in our country, the TP rolls would be getting larger IMHO!!!! My MotorGuard bypass oil filter was designed with 4.5" wide TP rolls in mind..........just as I believe the Frantz TP filter was also.I the last couple years, the TP rolls have gone from 4.5" wide, down to 4.25" wide, now down to 4.1" or even 4.0" wide!!! For a while I thought my ___ was getting wider..............but I still have the "Schwarzeneggarian" 180lb. physique I had in high school!!!My question to all using TP bypass filters is this............what are you doing, if anything, to accommodate the the narrower asswipes in you bypass filter setups??!!!
  12. No, it is not. I don't even think that it's OK'd for use with diesel.............but it's OK'd for a lot of stuff much worse IIRC!!! I sure wish I had access to CF archives now to answer this question. There was a fellow over there for a while that championed/promoted/pioneered the use of the little Walbro GSL392 as LP's for our Cummins engines. The Walbro pump when compared to the Carter that many run; is like comparing Arnold Schwartzenegger to PeeWee Herman IMHO!!!! My Walbro system was purchased thru GDP. I do believe I was one of the first 10-12 that Richard sent out once he fabbed up his prototype........tested it.........tested it again.......and then started building them to sell them. Pressure is regulated by an inline regulator (supplied by GDP) that I have plumbed in after the CP3 on my truck. Works well, but the needle on my FP gauge does jump up and down rowing the gears and if I get a "happy right foot"!!! With the stupid, hot weather we've been seeing around here this year, my FP reads 23-25psi depending on how hot the fuel is and the outside temp is!!! In the winter, sometimes the FP gauge will be pegged at 30+ due to the thicker fuel!!! Never have had a gelling problem while solely doing the 2 stroke thing in winter either!!! Normally winter FP read 25-27psi. Anything else lemme know!!
  13. Soot it exactly what you think it is!!! It's the stuff that coats the inside of your tailpipe. And some of the stuff is gonna get past your pistons rings no matter.IIRC, that's the "insolubles" part of your analysis!! Based on this analysis, keep on driving like you are............ain't no problems with this analysis at all!!!:2cents:Do you run a "bypass oil filter"?????
  14. Overdone!!!!!!!!!!IMHO, it looks like you should've pulled it off about 10-15 minutes sooner!! That's going solely by the color of the meat though!! Love your set-up by the way. Does the smoke chamber feed into both grill sections??? Hard to tell from the picture. You're doing the right thing by lowering the "chimney" in the grill section also. Keeps heat and smoke in the chamber longer. You'll use much less wood and/or charcoal. Hickory, pear, maple wood are excellent woods also. Just make sure the wood it totally dry first. Then soak and use. Mesquite, apple are awesome, but you already mentioned those. A few years ago, on a duck hunting trip to TX, I was voted camp chef. Our local guide was the former ranch manager from the ranch we were hunting on. I grill smoked duck and goose for the guys + cowboy Bob (guide) 3 nights straight; while one of the other guys made up the other vittles in the regular kitchen. Cowboy Bob, said that was the best duck and goose he'd ever had................and this is from a "hardcore" cattle/beef man his whole life. He even told me, if I ever wanted to come down to run the "chuck wagon" on the ranch for the cowboys rounding up cattle, he could arrange it. It was really cool to hear that!! Have you ever brined, then smoked salmon???? If not give it a try. Even if you FUBAR it up, the salmon will still be more than edible. And yes, I do know from experience there!!!!
  15. I run a Walbro LP on my '04.5. 6+ years now on the same pump. I'm on the second wiring harness though.........as I live in the rust best, and the salt just eats away the connections under the truck. That's the reason I like the Raptor..........sealed electrical connections. With my Walbro, I rely on liquid electrical tape, but even after so long, that lets in road salt and grime that eats the wire ends!!! The terminals on the Walbro are fine, just the wiring and the ends that fit over the terminals go away. I rebuilt the original Walbro harness from GDP after I bought a new one from them, but I may just call Richard up and see if he any left!!! And get another!!The only downside to Walbro systems are the exposed terminals on the pump itself!!! My pump still, in this the hottest summer that I can recall, still puts out 23-24psi pre-fuel filters!!! Yes filters; I run the OEM canister one and a 2micron after before the CP3 injection pump.
  16. Correct on all points. My Edge J w/A "box" was under the hood on top of the fuse box via velcro strips. The Attitude monitor was in the cab. I never had issues relating to power via the box , it was just that few times where the monitor got too hot and was "black" in color.
  17. Mike, are you gonna get paid for doing "repair and maintenance" on the equipment this time???:spend:
  18. Rogain, when I had the Edge Juice w/Attitude on my '04.5, I had the same thing happen a couple times. I figured out that it was that the monitor got way too hot with the truck sitting in the sun all day!!! Once I got on the road and either opened the windows or turned the AC on the condition was solved ............usually within about 5-10 miles or so.If it's as hot in VA today as it was here in IL yesterday and the day before; I think that may be your problem!! If I use my sunblocker window shade, my truck doesn't get neat as hot inside!!
  19. Just rolled 170,000 this AM going out to work.........so that's right at 1000 miles since the install of the SpynTec hub kit.......it'll be 2 weeks on Friday. CajFlynn is reading this and laughing........only 1000 miles in only 12 days!!!!!:lmao2:Well anyhow, after 1000 miles of driving, I think Mighty Whitey definitely "Coasts" easier, further, freer, etc. After the cruise up to Door County, Wisconsin, I think I can definitely say I'm getting at least 1mpg improvement in mileage. Normally at the speeds I drive on the Interstates, I would've been at the 19-20mpg tank of fuel mileage. That last tank I got 21mpg with 400 Interstate miles and 150 towing miles on the tank!! There were 682 miles on that tank...........the other 130 or so miles is just normal suburbia driving.........40-55mph.So even with just only 1000 miles now............I'd surely recommend this SpynTec kit. If'n you're gonna do it yourself, get a Bud to help. These parts are big, and it sure does help to have 2 more hands pressing in the new U-joints, wiring up brake calipers, packing bearings etc.!!!
  20. Thanks for the kind words Michael, but you were "THE FORCE" behind this thing. I just had your back!! As much as I'd like to take credit for it, I can't. I didn't come up with the idea of using 2 stroke oil as an additive to ULSD until I read about it on another forum. Prior to that, in my brand new '04.5 I was using PS+MMO!! I was just bold enough to post on CF what I did one day back in May of 2005. There were other threads about 2 stroke oil usage at CF that ran for a real long time also. There was, IIRC, only 1 moderator over there at that time that I would call "fair and impartial" about this topic. Seems that some of the site sponsors and advertisers got their "panties" in a bunch because we were questioning them about their products and promoting a different one. They went to playing "hardball" in some respects. I wish I had access to those other 2 stroke threads now!! Later.
  21. You know, in hindsight, I cannot help but wonder if ISX's "Evil Knievel" motorcycle stunts aren't because of, "Hold my beer, and watch this." type moments!!!!
  22. If what Idaho says is correct; and the cause was a wiring harness calamity, and it didn't cause the fuse to blow..................yeah, I can see that!! That's what fuses are for.......so you don't fry stuff and get stranded when Murphy's Law tries to bite you in the backside!!!
  23. I just looked at your signature line............. 1. Those mud tires don't help mpg. What psi you run in them? Who makes Federal tires BTW??? 2. Leveling kit/death wobble starter kit doesn't help mpg either. Increase drag. 3. What are you running your "box" on??? The "more power" tunes can get better mpg if you can resist the urge to use the power all the time. 4. Is it possible you've got a dragging brake, or even a dragging emergency brake?? 5. I'm wondering if you injectors are shot. Your mileage is certainly abnormally low IMHO. Almost as low as many of the guys here that tow big 5ers!! Unless you have Frankenstrein driving shoes, or there's something you're not telling us, I truly don't know!!!!:banghead: - - - Updated - - - You must use the "new math" or go by the overhead Lie-O-Meter: because when I ran your numbers (they looked off), and came up with 20-22.5mpg for the 540 mile tank and 24-26 gal fill up; and 23-25mpg for the 600 mile tank with the same gallons. 'Splain please!! Not arguing, just asking!!
  24. That may wind up being a; "Here, hold my beer and watch this." type thing that gets put on U-tube all over the internet!!!
