edge juice with attitude
AH64ID is correct on this. When I ran the Edge J w/A, I could see boost up over 40psi. If you saw that much psi in stock form(no box), your truck would throw an overboost code. That said, with a stock turbo on the 04.5-07 trucks, if you see more than about 34-35psi on your boost gauge your way out of the efficiency of the turbo and all you're doing is pumping hot air and sending your DP thru the roof!!!

65v70mph worth it
If enough "laws" are passed, everyone will be "guilty" of something 24/7. If you're not speeding, you're impeding. They got you coming and going now!!!

Brakes recall #97V068000
Just thought of this. Do you have the original flexible brake lines on your truck???? If so, one or more may have developed an aneurysm(soft spot) that flexes/swells/expands when you push the brake pedal.......thus making soft or not full pedal.

80,000 Miles......No Full Oil Change
For my MotorGuard bypass, I have the oil returned to the pan via the STHB (Self-Tapping Hollow Bolt). According to Ralph Wood (Mr. MotorGuard) the STHB used to be supplied with the Frantz bypass system. Don't know if it still is. I've not heard of it happening on a Cummins engine, but I went with the STHB because I didn't want to risk "misting" the oil via returning it to the valve cover or the cap. I'll see if I can dig up a picture of my return line to the pan.

65v70mph worth it
On my hunting trips and other cruises, I usually keep it at 65mph. I find it stressful driving when your trying to go 75mph by weaving in and out of slower traffic. I just let most everyone pass me now. And now with fuel prices rising, the idiots out there driving 80+mph will be the first to _____ and moan about fuel prices!!!!:doh:I've also found the the 65ish mph up to about 2k rpm's is the sweet spot on my truck. I have no doubt that I could get better mileage driving 60 or 55, but I've found that at those speeds in 6th gear, I actually have higher EGT's than at 65mph. That's cruising level ground. If you talk with any old time truckers, they often drove by the EGT. AH64ID may have a good answer for that??

Check This Out
BullyDog does make fueling plates and such for the 12valvers. I wonder if that what was meant?????? It did say "chip" though!!!!

Doesn't that make "drivability" a bit more difficult???? Skyrocketing boost I mean???

Best Tuner to buy??
AH64ID.....I apologize.......you are correct!!!! SW5 on the Smarty Revo is 90HP tune. Had to go out and check!!!! For what I normally do with my truck.........it's darn near perfect. Plenty of power and plenty of "go" after 4th gear and real good mileage towing and empty. I don't often mess with the tail-gaters unless they're being stupid. A quick "soot job" usually backs most off!!!:lmao2:SW7 on my truck is awesome..............more awesome than SW9. But I cannot tow with them effectively and they don't quite give me the best "all around" mileage.
-
Best Tuner to buy??
Not necessarily so. I run SW5 default settings on my Smarty Revo..............the 130hp tune. I'm not doing so for all out power/speed etc. but for the timing and fueling specs that have given me better mileage than I ever got on my '99 Dodge/Cummins under all driving conditions. Folks that have driven my truck are amazed how much "get up and go" it's got............and it's a NV5600 6 speed rower!!! My truck is scary fast on the highway cruising............ain't too many vehicles on the road that'll take me in a 60mph to a 100mph exhibition!!! I know, I've done so. Mustangs, ricers, etc. I don't normally participate in such things, but when they're tail-gating me to where I cannot see the hood of their car in my rear view...........that just sets me off...............and I play accordingly!!! Most aren't willing to go much past 85mph........which is when "Mighty Whitey" starts taking off!!

Bosch 505's
If and when I need new injectors, those would be my second choice. F1 40hp injectors would be my first choice. Grab them up now!!

2004 Fuel Pump Persure
10-15psi post filter is fine for an un-modified truck.......usually. Sounds like your Carter doesn't have the "guts" to push diesel thru your FF when it's cold outside!!!! Your last paragraph is not correct. If your LP seizes/freezes, the CP3 doesn't have the ability to pull fuel with that hard of a restriction and damage can occur. AH64ID confirmed this to me last August. I had my LP quit "TOTALLY" on a trip down to KY due to a corroded wire. The pump didn't fail...........the electrical connection/flow did, thus the pump stopped pumping...........my CP3 was able to pull fuel thru the pump because the pump would still turn!!!!! If is seizes/freezes, it's not turning and impedes fuel flow!!!!! If your current pump is stressed by cold weather/fuel, IMHO, you're on borrowed time!! Don't mean to sound like a dickhead here; but, do you have the $$$$$ it'll cost to tow your truck home or somewhere if the LP freezes or fails???

MPG on 3rd Gen towing more than 7500 lbs
Just goes to show that the weight we tow has far less of an effect on our mileage as does "wind resistance"!!!!!!!!!

Best Tuner to buy??
Dang Man, that looks like the "cock pit" of a jumbo jet!!!!!!! I get that comment from folks when they see my 3 gauge pillar mount and my digital RP gauge on the column!!! Mr. CopperDodge, if you plan on doing any BOMBing to your truck, GAUGES are the first thing you should install. This is so you have a "baseline" to what your future "power adders" do to the inner workings of your truck. You can add all the power stuff without gauges...........like they do on CF.............and then post why your truck blew up...........or you can follow this progression...... 1. Gauges........FP, EGT, RP, boost, tranny(if auto)..........these are the minimum IMHO 2. Lift Pump Upgrade.........self explanatory 3. Intake and Exhaust 4. Tranny Upgrade...............Clutch for manual..........VB, TC, and maybe billet shafts for auto 5. Power Adder........box or programmer If you're going for stupid power......then also do these 6. Head Studs 7. Turbo or Turbos (twins) 8. Injectors AH64ID has done much of this........not in this order necessarily, but he's done it. He has a plan though...........the "Dudes" on CF don't. If you don't heed my advice, please......for your trucks' sake.......listen to AH64ID!!!!!! I use the term "Dude" here, like the old cowboys used it. A "Dude" is a neophyte, newbie, rookie, fancy-type, showy, "more fluff than snuff". So in other words.......I mean ignoramous!!!

New Cooper Tire Size
AH64ID, I went onto the Toyo website this AM. Clicked onto the M-55 section. Please correct me if I'm wrong here, but I do believe that Toyo has changed the tread design of the M-55's. It's certainly not the same tread pattern as of about 2-3 years ago.....................the pictures on the website anyhow......................at least when I was checking out tires then!!! Lemme know what you think!!

Ideal fuel pressure
You are so right!!!! So many folks.........usually CF types..........don't understand that!!! Pressure often gets confused with volume. Flow can also be stated as "volume of fuel available". The CP3 can only take in "X" amount of fuel. Period!!!! What it doesn't need for injection goes into cooling itself and for self-lubrication and then goes back to the tank. The CP3 will pull fuel on it's own........don't ask how I know!!!!! But in heavy fueling needs (heavy, uphill towing, sled pulling, etc.), it can't draw enough to fuel and provide cooling at the same time. So that's why we use a lift pump...........to provide more than enough fuel for our work needs and more than enough for CP3 cooling and lube needs.

Some more mods on their way....
What's taking you so darn long??????? The guys over at CF would've been doing sled pulls and 1/4 miles already if they had your new toys!!!!

Suggestions on OIL
This^^^^^^!!!! You cannot market an oil, fuel additive:doh:, oil additive, coolant additive, etc........that ain't been tested beyond belief!!!!! Save for 2 stroke oil...............it's not marketed as a diesel additive, so it flies "under the radar"!!!!!! That's great IMHO!!!! The contrarian in me!!

Suggestions on OIL
Thanks!!!!!! I was thinking that I was the only one running the stuff..............at least here anyhow!!!!!! Not that I really care all that much, because I used to run the WallyWorld 15W40 and some folks would give me crap about it. But I proved them wrong!!! Hehehehehehehe

Heat Shield for the BHAF
I love your "high-tech" shield there Mike!!!!:thumb1: Heck, if I didn't have any "handy" bungees, I would've used "duct tape"!!!!:lmao2:On a serious note, on my Fram Boost 2 intake (rebadged AEM Brute Force) I think the only thing the heat shield does is keep the "spray" off the filter element when driving in rain or wet roads or wet snow etc.!!
