What do I do? Help!!
It's situations like that why I have a "NO TRESPASSING" sign in my front lawn near the driveway. I've had to ask a few "sales-persons" and Jehovas witnesses etc., "Can you read??" And then I point to the sign. They always try to "Yeah, but" me, but I always interrupt them with a bunch of profanity!!!!Or you could throw up or urinate on their shoes!!!!:lmao2:

Looking to buy my First 3rd gen
Or, if you want to keep the OEM FF canister, I'd recommend the Raptor system now. Internal fuel pressure regulator(no return line to the tank) and a proven quality pump...............like the Walbro and AD pumps. If you keep the OEM FF canister, you'd be wise to add a 2 micron secondary filter after the OEM one and before the CP3 fuel pump. Clean fuel is number 1 on the "common rails" because of the pressures the injectors see!!!!

1.000.000 Miles Yet???
CajFlynn, have you had this truck since "brand new"???? How many sets of brakes pad, calipers, tires, U-joints, oil filters, gallons of oil etc. have you gone thru. It'd be interesting to see!!!

Tire pressure
You take some chalk and scratch a wide line in front or behind your tires.....it doesn't matter which direction you go.........and see how the chalk from the ground transfers to your tires. Ideally, you want the chalk to be picked up evenly on the entire width of the tread. If it doesn't pick up evenly, you either air up your tires, or you air down your tires accordingly. I tow a trailer most everyday, therefore I keep my rears inflated to a higher pressure than guys do that don't tow regularly. I'm too lazy to air up and down. My tires aren't worse for it either. Almost 62,000 on the Cooper Discoverer ATR's now!!! I rotate them about every 10,000 miles.

Garrett Powermax Stage 2 GT3782R Install/Review
10-4 Bud........just needed some clarification...............just for my trucks' sake!!! I was thinking my truck wasn't normal!!!! I know, too much thinking!!!

Garrett Powermax Stage 2 GT3782R Install/Review
I do a lot of slow speed towing also. Very rarely do I ever see over 700* at 20-30mph. I'm usually in in 3rd or 4th gear at those speeds. On the rare occasion that I'm in 5th at those speeds, and give her, she'll get warm, but not as warm as yours does!!!! At least according to my gauge!!! I believe it to still be accurate, because it would read almost the same as the J w/A monitor when I still had it connected!!I almost cannot get my EGT's that high except in 5th or 6th gear. There's just too much "low end" torque in these bad boys. Let me preface this last sentence..................there's "too much" low end torque to get hot in 1st thru 4th gear...........at least the way I drive. There's never "too much" torque per se!!!!!:lmao2:Not arguing, just saying!!! Is your truck auto or manual???

Transmission and Rear End Gearing
I think you're missing my point. You can essentially achieve the same gear reductions via the differential gearing. Over-drive is great, don't get me wrong.......I love the low RPM's, but you could achieve the same engine RPM's in direct drive with a "taller" rear end.

Transmission and Rear End Gearing
OK guys, I've been thinking of this thread now for a while. Why do our trucks have an "over-drive"??? The strongest gearing in our transmissions is direct or 1:1. It would seem to me that for a truck that's designed to tow........that's what you would want cruising. Add a gear or two in front of first......remember Granny gear??...........and change the differential gearing to 3.27:1 or 3.07:1 or higher. See where I'm going here???Why aren't our trucks geared that way?? Am I misssing something???

Great write up!!!!:thumb1:Why is this new turbo water-cooled??? The stocker isn't. In my world, that's just another seal/gasket/washer to eventually pop a leak. Not arguing, just saying. I guess I don't understand the need for it. The way you describe it, it should'nt get as hot as the stocker because DP is lower. Help a simpleton out here!!!:duh:Also, what's the purpose of the manifold blanket???? In frigid climates, I understand, but, I wouldn't think your part of Idaho needs it. Again, not arguing, just saying!!!

How Heavy is too Heavy?
Towing heavy also depends on "HOW" your trailer is loaded. In North Dakota, I see farmers/ranchers pulling round bale trailers that'll blot out a semi-truck in your rear view mirror. These boys have the weight on the trailer axles and not the truck. Only problem is........stopping!!!!!! No traffic out there though!!About 4 years ago, my cousin rented a skidsteer and hydraulic auger to grade his yard and drill footings for a deck he added to his house. The skidsteer probably went 6000lbs by itself.......then the flatbed, at least another 5-6000lbs, plus the auger attachment. The idiots at the rental place had the skidsteer on the front of the flatbed and the auger behind. I was leery of hauling it, but my cousin and the rental guy said it'd be OK!!!! Wrong!!!! I couldn't go over about 35mph without my truck getting "squirrelly" in the steering. I told my cousin, that if he wanted me to haul that thing back, he'd have to figure a way to load the trailer differently...........he did, and the 10 mile drive back was a piece of cake. Once that load was moving, the only problem was stopping!!!!

Carter HD Elc lift pumps.
I don't have any personal experience with the Raptor. But reading on the various sites, almost everyone loves the Raptor lift pump system...........with all the parts!!!! The #1 great thing about the Raptor is the internal regulator.......no separate external regulator and no tank return line. If you decide on the Carter or the Walbro, you'll need an external regulator. I didn't see that mentioned in your first post!!

Carter HD Elc lift pumps.
You can get a Walbro GSL392 pump for about 10 bucks more on Ebay. It'll pump the stuffing out of the Carter you're refering to and last a lot longer also. The only reason I mention the Walbro, is because you seem to be "piecing" together a lift pump/FF system here. Which is fine...........but there is something to be said for buying something someone has tested and put together to sell.........aka, Proven!!!But, if you insist, I'd go with a Walbro pump!!!

65v70mph worth it
To add what ISX said..............when your as homely as I am; you don't give a crap about what folks think of you. Let the stupid MOFO's give you the finger when they pass you........they're gonna be the first ones to _____ and moan about fuel prices!!!!!!:doh:I had to see my tax accountant yesterday. So I drove down to the P's on Sunday morning and spent some time with them save for my time at my accountant. Came back today. I made it a point to drive 55-60mph there and back..............62 miles one way..............not to mention the 28 miles it was from the P's to my accountants place!!!!!! I had some folks pissed at me on Sunday when I drove down to the P's.......not much traffic. Today coming back was totally different. I had 18wheelers riding my dupa up the tollway even in the far-right lane!!!!! Are folks really that "stupid" now as far as speed vs. mileage goes??!! At least here in "The Peoples Republik of Illinoiz", it would surely seem so!!!

2 Stroke and the Common Rail
No Crapola??!!! Jeez, you're near the number 1 "speed trap" in Illinoiz.......the bypass around Freeport!!!!! I've not been caught there, but a lot of folks I know have!!! I've got family in Scales Mound, and I drive almost right by your place once or twice a year!!! Later man!!
