Tire Update
Didn't know exactly where to put this, so I put it here.Just rolled over 70,000 miles on my Cooper Discoverer ATR's this past weekend. I tow a lot, and I usually run all 4 at 70psi. I'm gonna keep them on for my North Dakota trip next month and for as long as we don't have snow after that.Cooper no longer makes the ATR.............it was replaced recently with the Discoverer AT3. All the reviews I've read on this tire are positive. It's a bit more "aggressive" than the ATR, but Cooper is a good tire and American made so I'll probably get them when it's tire time!!!!!

I Got Meat
This past Sunday, I shot an elk. I still have about 75-80lbs. of meat in the frig aging, waiting to get trimmed and frozen. Been trimming, grinding, baggging and freezing meat for the better part of the last two days.:drool:Anyhow, this came about by my buddy being a neighbor to a fellow whose brother was killed in a motorcycle wreck. The neighbor of my Bud was executor of his brothers will. This guy had a private herd of elk. His brother(executor) didn't want to maintain the herd, so my Bud told him that he knows some guys(me included) that would be glad to help him get rid of the elk. This was not an elk hunt, it was an elk shoot. They were in a 10 acre fenced enclosure and fed grain regularly. I look at it this way............it's an opportunity to fill a freezer with meat. And it's filling up fast!!!:thumb1:I shot a cow that probably went about 550-600lbs. I'll probably get about 150lbs. of trimmed/de-boned meat off this critter. I've got most of the small stuff ground up into burger now. Mostly what's left is the larger "roast" type pieces to cut into smaller chunks to freeze.I only cut myself once so far!!!!

Common rail lift pump issues...
With a '06, I don't remember if he'll have the OEM lift pump in the fuel tank, or on back of the fuel filter canister. The fuel filter canister style was a POS. Mine was weak within 1.5 years owning my truck. The in tank LP is better, but not great........especially if the truck is modded.I run a GDP Walbro LP system on my '04.5. 25-27psi normally. It's no longer offered thru GDP though. If I were looking for a new lift pump system now, I'd go with the "Raptor". GDP also sells these. What's nice on the Raptor is the internal pressure regulator.............no return line to the tank because of the external pressure regulator.Any other questions.........just ask!!!

If I were still a member of CF, I could get you in touch with a fellow I've met a few times. He had a "BAD ___" 12valver............that IIRC, at the dyno day we had, he put down just about 450HP and over 900FT LBS torque !!!!!!!!!After the dyno day, we drove over to a restaurant close by. I was following him, and had to wait at several lights for the smoke to clear............both diesel and rubber!!!!! Twas pretty cool actually!!!!:cool:I sure wish I could get in touch with him. Before I got banned from the other site, we used to get e-mails back and forth thru another CF member.Let me do some phoning and see if I can contact him for y'all. He's a 60+ guy that knows his diesel stuff.

WARNING!!!!......Tough Read..........The Falling Man
I'm posting this not to offend anyone. We've grown to accustomed to the "sanitized" version of events that happened that day 10 years ago; I think the "hard facts" need to be known and we need to reminded of the horror of that day 10 years ago. http://www.esquire.com/features/ESQ0903-SEP_FALLINGMAN Never Forget!!

You get your $5 permit for this national forest and your $7 permit for that one................who's checking on you?????:shrug:Not that I care by the way.........it's national forest..........owned by us.................."We The People".........we technically shouldn't need a permit at all!!!!!! Later my friend!!!!!

Back at it again...
So ISX, you were handling "the big tool" most of the weekend then right??!!! So it was a normal weekend then. --- Update to the previous post... So, in essence, it is an "honor system"...........unless a man with a badge shows up while your cutting or at your ranch where you've go 15cords, but only paid for 2!!!!

State Police
Russ, that has got to be the understatement of the year!!!!!!! I'll bet you were quite the "ladies man" in uniform!!!! On a different note, I've never had an issue with the state boys whether it be regular state police or the state conservation police. At least here in Ill-annoy, they're mostly regular guys and gals. For me, it's the local yokel town cops that to me anyhow, are nothing more than glorified meter-maids carrying sidearms!!!!

Need Complete Exhaust
I've been running a MBRP cat back since about 13,000 miles on my truck. IIRC, I pulled the stock unit off in March of '05. I was experimenting then on the new truck because the mileage sucked!!!!:smart:If I had to do it over again, I'd still do a cat back system, but it'd be straight piped with no muffler. From what I've read, the 3rd gen kitty's don't add any back pressure, but if you delete the kitty and run a straight pipe, they're obnoxious loud. If you leave the kitty, and straight pipe a 3rd gen you get a nice rumble.
