HE351 or HE351VGT??
Hate is such a strong/negative word. I actually went back after first typing out what I did, and thru that sentence in there..........just to get you to post in this thread!!!! It wasn't a dig; it was just a "hail call" saying, "get your butt over here" I need help!!!!

Notice from Dodge on my '06 ?
I've got an '04.5, but this is the first post I've ever read on any forum about this!!!:wow:They deny any "death wobble" claims.........but they want to really fix this problem??!!!!

HE351 or HE351VGT??
A stock '05 will have the HE 351; the same as my '04.5. The VGT version in the '07.5+ 6.7 trucks, I would assume doesn't require a wastegate, and would require a 'puter to control the vane position. How much "modding" do you plan on doing if any??!! For mild upgrades, this is a fine turbo (HE 351)..........although AH64ID will probably disagree with!!!! My truck (Mighty Whitey) put down 383HP and 78x torque shorty after getting the Smarty Revo. I don't need any more truck than that!!!In fact, I had a southern Illinois redneck in a gasser pickup wanna race me while I was drive to SEMO to snow goose hunt this past Friday!! I think he saw the "Mopar1973Man" decal on the drivers side window of my pickup topper and/or the lights from my "pillar mount" gauges!!! He revved it while passing me the first time. I ignored him. He did it again; so I made eye contact with the redneck...............wasn't even close!!!!! Running at 65-68mph, ain't too many gassers gonna take "Mighty Whitey" up to 100mph or so. The rednecks did give me a thumbs up once I slowed back down to cruising speed and let them pass me again!!!! Their truck was loud.........not fast!!!

Great Snow Goose Hunting Weekend in SEMO
If we ever had a real SHTF scenario in this country, there'd be anarchy in the cities in short order. The main reason being people don't know how to keep, prepare and if need be procure food if it doesn't come from a store and it's not wrapped in plastic. I take great pride knowing that I can do this. Granted, I don't live in a "free state" which encourages this type of thinking, but I know it. I learned it mainly from my Mom and her Father (my Grandpa). Grandpa (born 1909) learned it from his Mother who grew up in Poland pre-WW 1. A friend of mine married a Polish "female dog" a while back, and it was incredible the of knowledge her family had about the history of their country, survival skills, what's been posted here etc. .............thanks to communism. The reason I go there............how are most cities essentially run????? Just like the old Soviet Union and their satellite countries in the "cold war" era. Dumb down the masses to control them, and make them accustomed to living with an ever present government at your doorstep. --- Update to the previous post... Also, on this trip, I promised y'all a mileage report. I didn't get out as early as I had hoped on Friday. I got a "so called" emergency call from a client, so I went down to the barn with my work trailer........but with my truck loaded for the trip down to SEMO. Anyhow, got the emergency taken care of, dropped the work trailer at the barn (gonna work there the following week), and head to the P's to drop my little brown dog off with them. I didn't want to take two dogs........although seeing that Spud was the "only" dog there........I should have brought the pup with. All that said, when I left the P's, I needed fuel, so I fuel up 1/2 mile from the P's house. Drove to Sikestone, MO.......about 390 miles or so. Only drove my truck about 10-12 miles once in Sikeston both days, because the guide wanted me to ride with him out to the hunting area. Worked for me!! I did drive to get ice for the birds on Sat. for the guys and I also drove Doug(guide) and I to a great BBQ place in Sikeston to eat Sat. evening. After hunting Sunday, Doug drove me back to the motel........and the rest of the guys followed and picked up their stuff which we stored in my truck while we hunted on Sunday.........because we'd all checked out of our rooms earlier in the AM before we'd left to go hunt. I left Sikeston and drove all the way to Effingham, IL before I fueled up. I had 582 miles on the tank, and the "low fuel" dinger had just gone off about 10 miles before I stopped. Hand calculated mileage from when I fueled up near the P's to when I refueled in Effingham was 19.1mpg. I kept Mighty Whitey at about 68mph or 2000rpm's going down from the P's. On way back, I kept her at 65mph because of all the Illinois State troopers I was seeing. On the ride home, I especially didn't want to get pulled over because of the "game" I had in the truck.................just in case Mr. Trooper wanted to play Mr. Napolean and be a ____. So, 19.1mpg on this trip........on winter fuel!!

Great Snow Goose Hunting Weekend in SEMO
I truly don't know where or how that got started??!!! Snow goose is awesome table-fare................provided you don't over-cook it, dress the birds relatively promptly, and use quality seasoning. Culinary skills for real wild game is getting to be a lost skill in this country; with the era of McFood, Taco Hell, convenience stores etc. I actually believe the flesh/meat of snow geese takes spice rubs and marinades better than Canada geese (not Canadians:smart:) do. At least in my "never to be humble opinion. As I type this, my freezers have elk, Canada goose, various wild ducks, a few fish filets, pheasant, chuckar, and now snow goose...............all which was procured and processed by myself!! That's the protein sources...........I also have frozen beans, tomatoes, various types of peppers, and horseradish...............all of which was grown in my veggie garden. If squash and cucumbers froze well; they'd be in the freezer also!!! I also have 2 varieties of wild mushrooms in there also. About all I buy at the grocery stores are milk, eggs, bacon, some veggies (that don't grow well in my garden), fruit, bread, coffee, tea, toilet paper:thumbup2: Heck, people don't even know how to cut up a whole chicken anymore on the outside chance they buy one!!!!

MPG in my 05
In a pinch, can you make your own "home brew" urea with about 1/3rd urine and 2/3rds water??? It's a crime to pay for a product that is that much water!!!

Great Snow Goose Hunting Weekend in SEMO
Yeah, it was a real good weekend!!! I brought home 25 birds, and got 18-19 cleaned so far. Gonna do the rest tomorrow, as they're on ice and it'll not be "warm" here. The other 5 guys took the rest.57 birds on Sat. and 81 birds on Sunday!! Spud probably did more retrieves on Sat.........35+maybe. Sunday we used him more for the long sailers or if there were only a couple birds down in the spread and we weren't hustling to cover back up because more birds were coming in. Still he probably did at least 30 retrieves on Sunday.:thumbup2:You "snow goose" hunt in Idaho??!!! Didn't think they were that far West.

MPG in my 05
The '03-'04 305HP/555 torque engines generally get better mileage than the '04.5-'07 325HP/600 torque engines due to the 3rd injection event, different piston design, and pollution stuff.

Archoil AR6200 Combustion Catalysis and Burn Modifier
With all due respect Harry; you sound like an HHO or acetone saleman. IOW.......a "snake oil" salesman. All you give is vague generalities and even vaguer "real world" reports from "guys you work with"!!!!! Huge, huge red flag there. How about names, addresses, etc. so we can contact them directly??!!:2cents:IMHO, if it was that great, it'd been on the market years ago.

What's better for fuel mileage..... cool fuel? or hot fuel?
I really don't know either way. I do know that my truck usually gets better mileage in the warmer months. Mostly due to winter fuel, denser air(to drive thru), thinker fluids and less efficient combustion in COLD weather. My overhead "lie-O-meter" registers about 3mpg less this time of year.............even if I get the almost the same amount of miles at say 1/2 tank that I do in the warmer months. But when I fill up, I almost never get over 550 miles this time of year. Somethings going on that I can't figure here. My mileage this time of year is usually down to about 17mpg in combined empty/towing around suburbia. Normally it's around 18-19mpg in the warm months with regular diesel doing the same driving. But that's with Grandpa type driving............I'm not ina hurry. It's probably 80/20 that I drive to SE MO to snow goose hunt this weekend. Be a little over 1000 miles round trip. I'll post mileage figures when I get back.............now that I can post again!!!!!!

not so sure about tennessee
You know guys, there is a micro-brew out there called "Horny Goat". Their slogan is "Hopped Up and Horny"!!!! It's very, very good beer!!:thumbup2:That said; seeing that this was Tennessee and all, was there a "dispenser" for velcro gloves????? Quite a few sheep down in "them parts"!!!! You know, them sheep need help over the fence!!!

Trying new setting on my Smarty Jr for this winter..
I don't remember if it was last winter or the winter before; but I tried SW3 on my Smarty Revo, and didn't get my normal winter mileage. I normally run SW5 default settings which is the +90HP tune.SW7 (130HP tune) gives me great mileage also, but it gets warmer than I like to see towing my work trailer.

As I said prior, the OEM tone wheel without modification, has slop in it, even though it's "pinned" to "index" it. I'm gonna guess the total movement of mine; from most advanced to most retarded, measuring on the outer side of the tone wheel, would be about 1/16". You fine out the indexing hole to give you more slop to advance the static timing. The Rokktech sensor did the same, but folks found out the sensor only could give you X amount of advance. Like I did with mine, I filed out the indexing hole until the tone wheel touched the bolts. IIRC, someone guestimated that was about 4-5 degrees of advancement based the on the 360 degree circle geometry.

Steering Dampner Failure
I'd check it out. My old one wasn't seized, but it was stiff that's for sure. The steering on my truck is much easier now, and the relatively hard pull to the right is gone. Any ____ to the steering wheel is due to road crown now!!!! As I said in my prior post, I got a Bilstein unit from Geno's Garage, and the circumference on this bad boy is noticably larger than the NAPA brand one I had on that failed............plus it has the rubber boot to protect the rod/piston from dirt and debris. I have my nice handling truck back. I was worried that I had BJ's or tie-rod ends going again!!!!! And that's with me greasing everything on the front every 5000 miles!!!!! Glad I sprung for it!!

Roadside Vehicle Inpections
That's why I do my farrier thing out a of trailer. Quite a few, if not most use a trailer around me. Remember this thread???? forum.mopar1973man.com/threads/2260-My-New-Mobile-Shop-Work-Trailer

Steering Dampner Failure
A while back, I posted a thread about hitting a "log" in the road that bent the shaft of my steering stabilizer. Well, anyhow, the one I replace it with, failed on me. I was under my truck a couple days ago greasing the front end, and noticed that the dampner was wet with oil.............it was leaking. My truck for a while seemed to be pulling to the right because I'm having to ____ the steering wheel slightly to drive straight and because I'm noticing a bit more "road" in the steering. So I'm thinking that the damper took a crap.So I ordered a "top of the line" one from Geno's Garage..............Bilstine, just like my shocks. It came today, so I pulled the old one and installed the new one.Upon inspection of the old one, I could hardly get it to go "in and out"!!!!!!!!! Essentially it was seized when compared with the new one!!!! When to old one was fully extended, with me putting all my weight on it, it took 25 seconds to compress all the way. Then for me to extend it back out, I had to pinch the end between my boots and pull for all I was worth!!!!! About the same amount of time to extend it.Test drive proved it was seized essentially. Steering is much easier, and the steering wheel is centered now!!!! I didn't think a stabilizer could affect the steering and drivablility that much!!

Diys?
I've been banned by the sites where this info would be. They're Cummins Forum and Diesel Truck Resource. Do a search at those sites with these words.........tone, wheel, rokkteck, sensor, timing..........those should get you in the ball park. These threads are pretty old though. I'm not a 'puter guy, and I don't know if those threads are still available to see?????? Help Mike!!! You can achieve essentially the same timing advancement with the Smartys also, and you don't get your hands dirty. To do the tone wheel mod, you have to pull of the dampner first. The tone wheel is directly behind it and is held with the same 4 bolts. Not a lot a room under there.........but it can be done.
