  1. Hmm, well I dunno if this makes a difference or not but when I was with a fire dept. the trucks had exhaust brakes. They had the allison transmisson in it and IIRC they would work all the way pretty much down to being at a stop.
  2. I agree to an extent. Seems like it does not necessarily matter how big or small though. Its the mindset of the body of authority. All in all, it really boils down to the nature of progressivism. ....look at our kids in govt. school nowadays. Good point. People are indeed capable of doing the right thing. Although, you ever see what happens when people go without basic necesseties after a week? You might as well fight a rabid dog.
  3. Eh, please elaborate a little more on this... I thought pacbrake is just an exhaust brake, its just the brand name? How does it function differently than another? - - - Updated - - - Elaborate on this more about using a lockup switch? I asked about this sort of thin before and I got negative feedback about a TC switch.
  4. Wish I had a TIG welder. I plan on doing mine in steel. Hopefully can make it look good, too... Make sure to post up pics!
  5. Good observation, but whaaaat? You have succeeded in throwing me off with this post...
  6. Got any pacbrakes? I'm in the market for an EB, but will need something that will work with my auto. Whatchya got?
  7. Alright fellas, another 5th wheel trailer question. Ran to a local RV place to look at some trailers and see what me and the wife would consider living in while I work. Just went there with the intent to see some in person and see what we could get financed for. Took us out on the lot and saw a few we really would like. We agreed on one and used it as a "baseline" to see what we could get financed for. This is the trailer: http://www.rv007.com/pre_owned_detail.asp?veh=3011544 We got approved for financing for it. Thats not the problem. I explained to them that I was limited in how heavy I could tow something. The sales guy was like a genuine Larry the cable guy! He was no problem. But his bossman was the one that was trying to smooth it over and tell me that my truck was totally capable of towing this 5th wheel. He pulled this Up: http://www.trailerlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Trailer-Life-Towing-Guide-1999.pdf To show me that it was capable. He asked me what if anything I had done to the truck to "increase" the capacity. Explaining what the difference in HO and SO was. I told him that I had a tranny rebuilt with some upgraded parts and injectors. This is whats he said I could tow: Ram 2500 4WD 5.9 TD* 13,900 d/e,k,m d Requires 3.5/3.9:1 axle ratio.e Requires 4.09/4.10:1 axle ratio. k Club Cab rating slightly lower. m Requires manual 5/6-spd transmission. On these points, he explains that since I've upgraded the parts in the transmission, I practically have the equivalent of a manual 5/6 speed tranny. It makes sense to a point given what the guide factors in. Although, I'm not 100% sure on this. I do not have an auxillary tranny cooler nor ny upgrades in the steering components. I've still gotta buy an exhaust brake and I need an tranny temp gauge as well. Anyone have any input on whether or not this is a legitimate thing or was he just trying to push a sale? I do not have plans to tow wet either. But the actual sales guy said that I would be hard pressed to load the trailer with enough goods to exceed the carrying capacity of the trailer. I do not have any atvs or the such at the moment to throw in the back. The tow hauler area would at the moment just serve as a store room for us. - - - Updated - - - Alright, some of you boys gotta chime in! I know there are some knowledgable people on here... Gimme !
  8. Where do I test at the pump specifically? I also see a drop in psi when the grid heaters cycle. I left the wiring harness stock length for the pump and just hooked it to the aux battery. But thats not the drop I'm speaking of. This is with the engine at idle when the grid heaters are not even cycling. I use brass fittings as well and they are leaking. I suspect the permatex was not allowed to sit long enough to "harden". What are these sealing washers and coul I use them on the brass fittings to seal them? Do you think my regulator spring could ALREADY be weakening? I was thinking about just upping the pressure, but I did not want to "band-aid" it. I tell ya, if this is not my fault, I'm getting tired of AD and may start looking at the Assassin more and more.
  9. Alright the other day, I noticed a drop in fuel pressure. Its been a continuous thing since then. It will now run at 15psi instead of 20 at idle. I did not mess with the pressure regulator or anything else of that nature. I have less than 10k miles on the fuel filter.I'm worried that if it is not the fuel filter, it could be the airdog pump going out, AGAIN...I will have to check the fuel pressure gauge and make sure the connections are still good and air is not getting into the system.I use permatex thread sealant, its really sticky stuff and says it wont be dissolved by fuels. If this is my problem, anyone have any suggestions about what sealant to use on the connections?Or is there another reason why my fuel psi is dropping?
  10. I think I have always had it, but it seems to be getting progressively worse.
  11. Alright, so sometimes driving down the road, I will experience the truck drifting to one side or the other. It does not matter how fast or whether or not I'm accelerating, crusing or braking. I dunno if this is from loose steering tolerances or something else going on?I've had an alignment within the year and grease my components every oil change. Any ideas?
  12. UPDATE :banghead: Whats striking is I never knew New York conducted stop and frisk. Also, they are rolling out the TSA based body scanners to be used on street corners if they have deemed you a suspicious character...
  13. Yes sir! I'm usually the guy that tries to take the pro-active approach, not the reactive approach. Despite me being a concealed carrier, I personally have not had an incident, yet. Just because I carry, does not mean I can/should go into dark alleys, park in lots without proper lighting or escelate a situation, etc. I just hung out with a long-time friend that I have not seen in probably around a year. He told me not too long ago that he was in traffic and got shot at by a guy in another vehicle next to him. Yes, there was a situation for it, but its a bit of a story.
  14. Interesting read, only time will tell!
  15. The irony in things... Its either I go home and have no money to live, or I work in a crime 'ridden city and have money.Crime is getting bad here. Sometime in the near future, my boss wants me to work in Yakima. Thats a city I would rather pass on!
  16. Thats a lab for ya!
  17. Reminds me, I just watched the news about the Chicago shooting. Mother lost all 4 of her kids from being shot. ...you would think that at most when your 2nd child was shot, you would move. DERRRR!
  18. Its my parents neighborhood. Stayin at their place when I'm in town working. I'm less than a block away from the house. Crazy to think about, I was eating my waffles for breakfast while some guy was hacking his friends head off. The whole situation is so screwed up! I don't get it at all... The city has been lighting up these past few days its crazy. This kicked off the morning yesterday and then when I got home, an inmate escaped a local prison and cops had a house surrounded looking for him. THEN, a dang kid in his late teens went after his mother with a knife and stabbed her in the head... ...you know I'm packin!
  19. I told my wife the next gift she gets me needs to be a, "dont tread on me flag". I've been e-mailing depts about their stance. Found out my local sheriff is on my side. Sounds like the governor is too as well. But have not read anything personally about it. Being that I travel for work in WA state, I also found that Spokane county sheriff is on the peoples side, but the city police chief is not. He recently became the city police chief and hails from California. The WA governor is in favor of Obama and would like to see a state AWB. Although, some in WA are ready to get a bill to go up for a vote to nullify the federal law if it becomes so.
  20. I appreciate your efforts in educating others about the 2nd amendment and the importance of it. Although, open carry for me is an un-wise choice IMO as I feel it does atleast 2 things: 1. I no longer retain the, "element of surprise" with an evildoer and so I become the first target to be taken out. 2. I could be easily dis-armed if I so happen to let myself become unaware of my surroundings at a single opportune moment. I in no way 'am afraid to openly carry in ID. I used to do it all the time in Sandpoint. Until I changed my ideas about tactics. Sandpoint is sometimes entertaining when doing it too, as this being a high tourist destination, I used to get alot of reactions! I had at one time stopped at a seasonal vendor selling tye-dye clothing. Looking around, me and the owner got to talking. Lo and Behold, he did not mind, but the liberal walking around looking at the clothing did not like the fact I was carrying. She expressed her concern to me that because I was carrying a shoulder rig, the pistol faced horizontally and she did not like the barrel being at a level that could be lethalif it discharged. ...did not know they had a mind of their own?!
  21. I'am pleased with this response. If you guys would, please leave this thread in this forum as I would like others to be able to read it without having to try and access the Govt. and politics section. As it may be deemed to be their more appropriately. Source: http://www.bonnerso.org/index.html
